^ i too also used to hate Taylor. i thought she's just another Miley Cyrus who's here now, gone tomorrow. i misjudged her. she's a very down-to-earth person. she's incredibly talented and beautiful. and best of all, she looks up to our Celine which is always a good thing.

^ off topic a moment but that's how I used to be with Mariah Carey but then I came around........back to Taylor, I saw the You Belong With Me video again and her dorky glasses make me laugh!!! It's so sweet though. She looks good as a brunette or a blonde...but she looks kinda b**chy as a brunette or maybe it was just the acting. I think she would make a good actress.

19-Year-Old Superstar Taylor Swift Remains Humble

 

You might find it surprising that one of music's brightest new stars once found it hard to fit in. Taylor Swift says growing up in Pennsylvania was not easy since no one wanted to be her friend. Only after her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, was she able to be herself. She is on her first headlining tour to promote her second CD, Fearless.

 

Swift sold more records in 2008 than any other music performer. Selling 7 million albums is a career accomplishment very few artists can claim. Taylor achieved this milestone in only two years. She has written or co-written all of her songs, and now at age 19 is headlining one of the biggest concert tours of the year.

 

"It just makes me so happy. It makes me so happy to be out there knowing that every single person in the audience, you know, bought a ticket with my name on it."

 

When she was 14, Taylor's family moved from Pennsylvania to a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, so she could be closer to the country music industry. She was signed to a publishing deal with Sony/ATV, making her one of the youngest writers they ever hired.

 

"I would write every single day after school. It was a job, you know. I was … I was a paid to be songwriter when I was 14."

 

Taylor's family videos were put to good use when she recorded "The Best Day," a song dedicated to her mother.

 

"My mom is very logical and very practical. She is always like, 'Do not, do not get too far ahead of yourself', you know, and, 'One step at a time,' and my dad is just going nuts [very excited] out here, like, handing out guitar picks. 'Hey I am Taylor's dad!,' 'Hey, good to meet you!', 'Hey, here is a guitar pick!'"

 

Her songs are autobiographical. Taylor credits not fitting in with classmates as one of the reasons for her success.

 

"I never would have wanted to leave Pennsylvania and move to Nashville had I been invited to all of the parties. In a way, you look back and you are like, 'Thanks guys!'"

 

Though seemingly wise beyond her years in terms of the music industry, Taylor struggles with the same issues as any other teenager.

 

Themes of unrequited love are prevalent in her songs. Because so much of her life is in her songs, she has advice for future boyfriends.

 

"The only thing that inspires me to where I can write so many songs about it is love. The beginnings of love, when it is all the butterflies [nervousness] and magic and stuff, and then the end of it, where you feel like you cannot get out of bed in the morning. That is what I love writing songs about.

 

"It is not like guys do not know what they are getting into. I have been very open and honest about it my entire career since I was 16 years old. It is like I write songs about real people. If we date, you are going to end up being a character. You can choose whether you are going to be a good character or a bad character. Choose wisely."

 

Choosing wisely also applies to role models. The headlines are full of musicians behaving badly. Taylor makes it a point to follow a different example.

 

"My role models are people like Garth Books and Faith Hill. I just love the fact that they are so nice to people, and they are so good to their fans. You know, you grow up and you have your favorite singers. Then when you meet all of them, that list kind of shifts to the people who are great people first and great musicians second. I have always aspired to be a great person first."

 

Another influence is Faith Hill's husband, Tim McGraw. Taylor's breakthrough single was titled "Tim McGraw," a song inspired by his music. She sang the song to him during the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards show.

If Celine were to cover one or more of Taylor's songs, which song(s) would you like to hear her sing? I think "Cold as You" and "Come in with the Rain" would sound great with Celine singing them, and also songs like "Invisible" and maybe "Mary's Song"

Taylor Swifts song Breathe Me is one of my fave, i think its amazing! My friend said it was a song that she couldnt listen to over and over again but i dont know how many times ive listened to it, but its a lot

 

I also thought she was gonna be another Miley Cyrus so i never liked her but then i listened to her and read some things about her and i think shes cool and a lot better than Miley

News and Fearless Deluxe Version!

 

Ken Ed Tucker did an interview with Scott Borchetta, the president of Big Machine Records and he mentioned that they will release a Deluxe version of Taylor's Sophmore album Fearless and of course it will have a couple of new songs which is very very exciting. One of the songs he mentioned is Sparks Fly which means it will possibly make the cut.

 

You had several different releases between Taylor’s first album and her second—there was a Christmas record, a Wal-Mart exclusive, a deluxe edition—do you foresee doing different variations again between the second album and her third?

 

Yeah, we will do a “Fearless” deluxe re-release. There will only be one more version of the album, but she has so much music that comes out of her. There are some great songs sitting, and she and I were just talking about this last week. Like, “You know what? ‘Sparks Fly’ is a great song, and if we don’t get to that song, you’ll leave it behind and your fans won’t ever get to own it.” So that’s a song that she’s seriously considering for a deluxe re-release.

 

There are three or four or five things sitting that, with as quickly as she’s growing up, if we don’t get ‘em now, they won’t get out. And she acknowledges that. It goes back to the first album conversation. She didn’t really want to put “The Outside” and “A Place In This World” on the first record. I said, “They’re so important and they’re such great songs, if you don’t put them on the first record, we’ll never get to ‘em.” And she was nice enough to go along with me on that and there’s been a couple times where she’s high-fived me. She said, “You know what? I’m glad we put these songs on this record because they made the record so real.”

 

So that’s where she is right now. We’ve had a couple things that have happened musically during the “Fearless” campaign that will be part of a “Fearless” deluxe edition and that’s for the fans. We’re not going to shove a million copies of a re-release out there. We’re pretty knowledgeable about what the super fan wants, and so we’re going to make just enough to fulfill that need and desire. Also we very specifically, from day one, established her as a fourth-quarter artist. So there will be people going into the stores in the fourth-quarter saying, “I want to buy a Taylor Swift gift for my daughter/sister/girlfriend/whoever it is.” We’re not going to disappoint.

Taylor Continues to Break Records

 

Taylor joins country music superstars Garth Brooks and Shania Twain as the only country artists in Billboard SoundScan history to have TWO albums spend 20 weeks at No.1 on the Top Country Albums sales chart. Fearless returned to the No.1 spot last week on Billboard’s Top Country Albums sales chart, 36 weeks after its initial release, and holds firm this week, marking it’s 20th week at No.1.

 

Swift’s self-titled debut CD, released 143 weeks ago (in 2006), also remains one of country’s top sellers, claiming the No.11 spot on the sales chart this week. Taylor is the only artist this decade to have two albums spend 20 weeks at No.1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

 

Taylor’s career CD sales to date now top 7.75 million albums, her paid song downloads now exceed 18 million, and her MySpace music streams are over 246 million!!!

 

Taylor’s current single, “You Belong With Me,” currently holds the No. 3 position and is climbing BOTH Billboard’s Top Country Songs chart and the Hot 100 pop chart, making Taylor the only artist in the 25-year archival history of Billboard’s airplay charts to have a song greater than No.5 on both charts in the same week. In addition, Taylor currently holds the Billboard all-genre record for most Top 20 debuts in a calendar year.

Both youngsters are undeniably some of the sexiest, most appetizing, eye-pleasing (we're running out of adjectives!) heartthrobs to hit their respective H'wood scenes: T. Swift in the music world and T. Lautner in the land of fangirls and vampires. But when the two of them got together to film a cameo for upcoming flick Valentine's Day, in which the stud and the babe play a gym-clothes-wearing couple at a fictional high school, we knew that everyone would be talking about this insanely perfect pairing.

 

Isn't it about time that the male Taylor got some media attention for his romantic exploits?

 

It's been a while since the Selena Gomez fling (she was far too young for you, T-babe), and Taylor has been looking studlier than ever in these months leading up to New Moon. Plus, we all know it's useless to try and hook up with anyone in the Twilight cast anyway. Meanwhile, the darling, nondiva Taylor Swift has always been jaw-droppingly beautiful, even when she's frumped down in an unfortunate track outfit. Still, they're both naturally gorge, and when they're together, it's like friggin' angels singing.

 

But how did nobody ever think of this dazzling duo as a pair before? They're the same age, and they're both superhot. Even though they're not currently dating, they sure could have fooled us with this smooch. Get these two a table at Dolce, now—we smell the next young Hollywood power couple!

Taylor girl just gets more gorgeous with every photo taken of her. I really hope that they keep her part in the movie, and that she soon gets a major role in a really good film that she can show her ability to act in. This movie it looks like they basically took her music video personality and dropped it into the movie, and I think she deserves much more than that. Also we finally know what Taylor's new single is!! Its going to be Fifteen and Taylor is filming the music video sometime this week! Taylor's Global Success!

 

Taylor Swift, who sold more albums last year than any other artist, is making a significant impact on the global music scene, earning Gold and Platinum sales certifications in fourteen countries. Her Fearless album, rapidly approaching quadruple-Platinum in the US, has earned the following international sales awards: Triple Platinum in Australia and Canada; Platinum in Singapore, New Zealand, Ireland, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan; and Gold in the UK (2x), Norway, South Africa, Hong Kong and the Philippines. Sales are driven partially by her single “Love Story,” which has topped airplay charts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Big Machine Records reports that Swift has sold more albums than any artist in the world so far this year.

 

She is headed to the UK this week for her second string of sold out shows there this year, and is planning another trip overseas for a Nov. 23 headlining date at London’s Wembley Arena. Earlier this year, she also headlined a short series of shows in Australia, all of which sold out.

 

Upon her return from the UK, Swift resumes her US tour with a headlining show at Madison Square Garden, where tickets sold out in one minute.

 

Here in the States, Swift’s self-titled debut CD has been certified quadruple-Platinum, and she is celebrating her fourth consecutive No. 1 single. Her paid music downloads now exceed 19.5 million songs, she has more than a million followers on Twitter, and she has surpassed the 250 million mark for music streams on MySpace.
