No1IrishFan Posted April 7, 2010 at 12:30 PM Posted April 7, 2010 at 12:30 PM In bad need of advice guys! I live in Northern Ireland, and had tickets to see Whitney Houston in Manchester tomorrow night, flights and hotel were also booked. As it has been postponed I will get a refund for hotel and tickets, just not the flights. So she is a bit closer to home on April 20th. She is appearing in Dublin and it works out the same cost. The only thing stopping me from booking is she may still be ill and have to postpone again. What do you guys think? Book or not?

Ronny83 Posted April 7, 2010 at 02:41 PM Posted April 7, 2010 at 02:41 PM WHITNEY POSTPONES FIRST 3 UK DATES With great disappointment, Whitney Houston has postponed her first three concerts in the UK due to illness. The shows affected are her two concerts in Manchester this Thursday and Friday (8th and 9th April) at the Manchester Evening News Arena, and her show in Glasgow on Sunday (11th April) at the S.E.C.C. All three dates have been rescheduled. Glasgow now takes place on Saturday 1st May whilst the Manchester dates will take place at the end of the tour on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th June. Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover. Whitney’s "Nothing But Love" show is packed with some of her greatest hits including ‘Saving All My Love’ and ‘Its Not Right (But Its OK)’, as well as her more recent hits including the top 3 smash hit ‘Million Dollar Bill’ from her current critically acclaimed album, ‘I Look to You’. ‘I Look To You’ is Whitney’s fastest-selling album in the UK, and has already sold over 2.5 million copies. The show uses a brand new never seen before production from Baz Halpin, who created shows for artists including Pink and Tina Turner. Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the UK and Ireland after her eleven-year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favourites. Concert promoters have asked ticket holders for Manchester and Glasgow to retain their tickets which will remain valid. Those unable to make the rescheduled shows should apply to their point of ticket purchase for their refund. All other dates on Whitney Houston’s "Nothing But Love World Tour 2010" will not be affected and are as follows: Tuesday 13th April - LG Arena, BirminghamWednesday 14th April - Trent FM Arena, NottinghamSaturday 17th April - The O2, DublinSunday 18th April - The O2, DublinTuesday 20th April - The O2, DublinThursday 22nd April - Metro Radio Arena, NewcastleSunday 25th April - The O2 Arena, LondonMonday 26th April - The O2 Arena, LondonWednesday 28th April - The O2 Arena, London Saturday 1 May - Glasgow S.E.C.C.*PLEASE NOTE RESCHEDULED DATE - TICKETS FOR 11th APRIL REMAIN VALID Wednesday 16th June - M.E.N Arena, Manchester*PLEASE NOTE RESCHEDULED DATE - TICKETS FOR 8th APRIL REMAIN VALID Thursday 17th June - M.E.N Arena, Manchester*PLEASE NOTE RESCHEDULED DATE - TICKETS FOR 9th APRIL REMAIN VALIDhttp://sonymusic.ie/news/whitney-houston/w...irst-3-uk-dates I hope she will recover for the May 3rd concert in Milan. amyja89 Posted April 14, 2010 at 03:35 PM Posted April 14, 2010 at 03:35 PM Hey everyone. I'm selling my Whitney ticket for the 26th April at the O2 Arena, and wondered if anyone is interested. It's in the lower tier, Row X of Block 111, and I paid over £100 for it but am willing to sell for around £65. Let me know if you're interested!
GoldenLeaf Posted April 14, 2010 at 11:25 PM Posted April 14, 2010 at 11:25 PM Whitney Houston's UK comeback gig slammed as 'off-key' Whitney Houston played her first UK gig in 11 years last night but her off-key performance was rubbished by fans. The diva, 46, performed a sold-out gig at Birmingham's LG Arena with fans paying up to £100 for tickets. But many were soon asking for their money back claiming Houston's singing failed to hit the right notes. On Twitter, SymphonyUK said: "It's a shame Whitney didn't lip-synch, like Britney did." One fan told Mail Online: "I was waiting for the Trading Standards guys to call a halt and offer us our money back. It was a con, a rip off. It wasn't a concert." Houston was forced to postpone a concert in Paris and her first three gigs in the UK while she recovered from a respiratory infection. Critics were also unimpressed by her performance with many claiming that her once amazing voice no longer sounds as good as it used to. The Sun said: "Time and crack addiction - which she claims to have beaten - have not been kind to her once astonishing voice. It is now deeper and huskier. Houston, we still have a problem." The Mirror's reviewer said: "To paraphrase an earlier song: not quite right, but OK." The Austrailian leg of her Nothing But Love World Tour also came under attack, with fans there claiming she struggled to sing properly and looked exhausted and breathless. Houston's Glasgow concert which was meant to take place on Sunday has been rescheduled for May 1, while her Manchester dates will take place on June 16 and 17.http://www.metro.co.uk/metrolife/music/821...mmed-as-off-key

I now f***ing hate the press because that was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Her vocals were there, she hit every note and the crowd loved her. She is definetely regaining the voice!

Shaun Posted April 22, 2010 at 06:53 PM Posted April 22, 2010 at 06:53 PM Agreed. Basing my opinion purely on the Youtube videos I would be sorely disappointed if I was a Whitney Houston fan and this was the quality of vocals I experienced at a concert. However some fans here who've actually been to the shows seem to say that she's in good shape vocally so fair enough. takeachance Posted April 23, 2010 at 10:03 PM Posted April 23, 2010 at 10:03 PM Hope no one posted already, too tired to check back , sorry! But Whitney played in Dublin during week and brough up this little irish girl onto the stage to sing her song "the greatest love of all" as she had displayed a banner at the concert saying" i want to sing with you whitney" . And Whitney looked at her and said "yes you can". The little girl eas carried up on stage by big security men. She has just been on tv talking about it with her mother! How cute is that? Heres the link! http://i66.tinypic.com/2dk08jn.gifRIP Rene Angelil xx Sending Love and Prayers to Celine
Moee Posted April 24, 2010 at 01:11 AM Posted April 24, 2010 at 01:11 AM The thing is that if you go to the concert you can't think of Negative things; you're basically at the concert to spend some nice time watching a singer. When you go back home or watch youtube video you can be objective and judge if her voice was good or not; plus at the concert, everybody shouts and scream when she hits the note on IWALY so basically you can't even hear her voice when you are attending the concert.
