Lymon Posted February 23, 2010 at 09:37 PM Posted February 23, 2010 at 09:37 PM (edited) A couple of you are being extremely cruel and unfair to her. Whitney is TRYING. she's actually getting up there and singing (mining two songs, but she made it obvious and even admitted it at the first concert). To laugh at her and say "She's nothing compared to Celine", "she's OVER", etc is just disgusting (she sings live more than Celine, by the way, so she deserves more credit just for that). If Celine was in this position of losing her voice (which she almost did), trust me, none of you would be laughing. She's working her butt off right now and deserves respect for at least that. Laugh at Mariah for being a lazy dimwit right now, but don't go for a woman who's actually trying her best. Edited February 23, 2010 at 09:38 PM by Lymon http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png

And please.... Céline sings enough live and still hits incredible live notes, which many divas from the 90ies will never hit again! of course she should get credit for trying, but trying aint enough if you have such a big image! she should have done it slow, worked her way to be able to sing live again... now she's just a laugh and it does more harm to her, than not returning to showbizz. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Black Kitten Posted February 23, 2010 at 11:48 PM Posted February 23, 2010 at 11:48 PM Celine lips some of her performances to preserve her voice. she sure knows how to do it. and look at the result. Mariah and Whitney have both lost their voice, Celine hasn't.

Mariah and Whitney have both lost their voice, Celine hasn't. The preserving her voice excuse is complete crap, since there are many singers (Barbra, Reba, Martina, etc) who perform many shows with many difficult songs, and they have as good of a control (if not even better) of their voices as Celine does. If her voice was so strong and so better than the others, she'd be able to do it all live. But that's another debate, and it really shouldn't be brought into this thread as it's been discussed to death. And about feeling bad for the people who go to the concerts, it's their own fault. They should know by now what vocal condition Whitney is in. If not only by watching the news for the past decade, they should also have seen some clips of her singing live these days (all it takes is a few clicks on YouTube). People need to prepare themselves for what they see at concerts. I'm not saying spoil the whole thing, but get an idea of what vocal condition the person is in and what kinda show it is. Whitney is up there trying her best, and if that's not enough for people, then they have the option to NOT buy a ticket. It's completely their own fault if they buy one and are disappointed. celinefanonline Posted February 24, 2010 at 02:46 AM Posted February 24, 2010 at 02:46 AM not this again. it's about whitney not Celine............ It's completely their own fault if they buy one and are disappointed.I can see your point but I dont completely agree. First, IDK how often Martina, and Reba tour, I know Barbra doesn't tour often though. Celine goes from one song to the next, for the most part, and has been doing shows fairly nonstop for a long time, 2003-2009 and she still sang a general full set live even if you cut out all the lipped songs, thats how I see it. And I do blame Whitney. She jumped into touring too quickly, obviously, and if she was ill or sore, she should have canceled that night and Iv listened to a few of her performances on youtube and generally they aren't good at all, just like if Celine was effing it up night after night and people were walking out if would have been her fault, in my opiniion. Not everyone has a computer, internet, even thinks about bootlegs on youtube either! Anyway, it can all be debated to death, and what you said about Mariah is true, and Im sure everyone thinks that without having to even state it, people have been feeling like that about her for some time.Anyway, I actually feel really bad for Whitney cause I can just feel how embarrassed she was, ut I also know if was her own damn fault. And from what were hearing she is being a diva minus the real talent. :/ Edited February 24, 2010 at 02:53 AM by Scramasboy http://68.media.tumblr.com/0215da4dacb45f3375c9bf63cb89e9c3/tumblr_o3edqjdnpP1s2lrfeo1_1280.png
Black Kitten Posted February 24, 2010 at 02:00 PM Posted February 24, 2010 at 02:00 PM ^ seconded. Celine has been singing nonstop since 2003, and it's amazing how she preserved that power in her voice. sure lip-synching/using playbacks is a big part of that "preservation", but that's completely fine. to hear that same 90's voice from Celine now, i'm a hundred percent sure she must be doing something right. and i have to agree, Whitney is nothing compared to Celine when it comes to live singing and performing (in general). back to Nippy. after watching the clips from that infamous Brisbane concert, i really think she should stop singing now. if she keeps on messing up her performances, she really should give up on singing completely cause that's what she's known for, and now it's completely gone. i can't even hear traces of her 80's-early 90's vocals in her recent performances. she's like a complete different person now.
Edwin Posted February 24, 2010 at 03:07 PM Posted February 24, 2010 at 03:07 PM It is not the responsibility of a fan to verify the vocal condition of an artist before going to a live show. Anyone with half a mind would make the REASONABLE assumption that because the artist, management, public relations, handlers and promoters have made the tickets available for SALE that the artist should be able to put on a show. I've never read such an outrageous statement in my life. /disgusted
Prince Whiskers Posted February 24, 2010 at 03:48 PM Posted February 24, 2010 at 03:48 PM She's merely into the 3rd leg of her tour and already she's feeling the strain physically and vocally. She may be trying her best but it seems her efforts are not good enough! Céline's Blues Posted February 25, 2010 at 12:42 AM Posted February 25, 2010 at 12:42 AM (edited) Whitney is doing her thing. She's completely unprepared for this tour vocally, tho. Maybe she needs to call THE specialist in "preparation" for ANY kind of "singing" - our own Céline Dion. That Canadian hag knows exactly where to direct persons who "are proud to sing songs EVERY NIGHT live". Edited February 25, 2010 at 12:43 AM by Céline's Blues http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
smw Posted February 25, 2010 at 02:14 AM Posted February 25, 2010 at 02:14 AM (edited) This is all pretty upsetting! But it's just common sense to know that if she can't sing one song on TV in a controlled setting - then singing many songs night after night just isn't going to work! I would say that they could have interspersed playback tracks with a couple of live ones - to at least please her fans by not canceling the concert. But, frankly, she couldn't have pulled off ANY live songs. Even if she lipped the rest! That is so humiliating!!!!! Wow. Depressing to see such an amazing voice go to waste. She really should have taken a note from Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, and Celine. Edited February 25, 2010 at 02:15 AM by smw

We do know that Celion's policy is 50% live and 50% "pure magiiiiiiiic". Not the most commendable but still ISN'T something that Whitney could pull off if she runs out of breath after just 2 songs or cough her way through her setlist like she reportedly did in Brisbane! Of course, nobody forced those s.uckers poor peeps to watch her show, but nobody held a gun to Whitney's head for her to take on the touring job either! It's one thing to be a trainwreck on a free show like GMA, but when you charge some serious money for a serious production, it is implied that you have the physical and vocal fitness to perform like the PRO that you are. ----- Scramas: Ask permission from Ashton Kutcher and Tom Welling who are my roommates and um.... http://cdn.webecoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/modern-pet-solo-blown-glass.jpg

According Whitney's team, her bad voice and voiceproblems have a lot to do with smoking. But Whitney refuses to quit smoking.Whitney says she does not care about the critique or if people laugh at her, if it is so, it was supposed to be so.It is all a part of God's plan with her <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
