Hi ya!

 

I'm going to Whitney on the 17th in Dublin. Was listening to 2fm today and the notice that they got in stated that the 3 nights in Dublin would be going ahead and those cancelled would be rescheduled (Manchester etc.) Looking forward to it, though by all accounts it won't be fantastic! :shrug:

How was the concert?!

 

Sorry for the delay! I really enjoyed the concert!! Had a great night! :-D Granted her voice wasn't in top form but she really did her best I think. It was by no means as bad as the British and Australian press made out. In some songs it was clear she was never going to hit the high notes but the audience were really behind her and sang along etc (except a small number that walked out early on. I think that was planned though to prove some sort of point?!). To be honest I would be happier go and see her like that than if she was lip-synching and sounding perfect. Would definately recommend anyone who still has a chance to go to go along and support her! It will be a good night!! :)

The thing is that if you go to the concert you can't think of Negative things; you're basically at the concert to spend some nice time watching a singer. When you go back home or watch youtube video you can be objective and judge if her voice was good or not; plus at the concert, everybody shouts and scream when she hits the note on IWALY so basically you can't even hear her voice when you are attending the concert.

 

You are exactly right about this! I saw her live at the World Music Awards several years ago when Celine got the diamond award, and Whitney sang IWALY. I honestly couldn't hear a single note she sang because the audience screamed the ENTIRE time. I'm not even kidding, not a single freaking note of the entire song. I had to watch it on the internet to find out if it was good or not. My only chance to ever hear Whitney live and she was right there in the same room as me and I couldn't hear a single note. I was so pissed!

I read in our news paper (Icelandic news paper) That Whitney has lost her voice.

The date was April 28th.

She was helding concert in London and there was said she could not reach her

famous G4 (IWALY) she appologized several times and said that her soprano friend

didn´t attend(meaning her voice)´and that her back-up singers sings the hard parts

of her songs the notes she can't do anymore.

 

And rumours tells she is using drugs again.

 

I feel so sorry for Whitney...she isn't even a soprano anymore

but more of an Alto-Contra alto her voice has gotten that deep

and husky' not a bad thing but she was born with a colouratura soprano

voice..were is it now...forever gone. :ermm:

So the tour will finish in June, what next for Whitney? I hope she takes some time off, then records another album. The last few weeks of the tour has seen Whitneys voice improve, she is now alot stronger than she was GMA/Oprah/Australia.

 

Do not disappear again Whitney!

Aga.135, I was simply commenting her recent bad performances in Stuttgart and her new fat body and as far as I know I have the freedom, like everybody on this forum, to express my opinions toward Whitney no matter if they're positive or negative as long as they don't show disrespect or contain vulgar words. :flowers:

You're right! Having a deep and husky voice isn't a bad thing (That was even Bonnie Tyler key to success!) but Whitney should focus on singing songs that would fit her current voice like edgy and rock songs a la Janis Joplin. Pop/RnB ballads obviously don't fit her raspy voice at all.

Bloody hell Whit, you are piling on the pounds! But as long as she doesn't go back the other way, stick thin. At least we can tell she is still drug free now.

I will always love her, but the glory days are certainly gone. I don't know if a major world tour was the best thing for her. It was a brave option to sing live, but if anyone needed playback on tour it was Whitney and not Celine. A stint in Vegas might have been the healthier option for Ms. Houston.

Hope no one posted already, too tired to check back , sorry! But Whitney played in Dublin during week and brough up this little irish girl onto the stage to sing her song "the greatest love of all" as she had displayed a banner at the concert saying" i want to sing with you whitney" . And Whitney looked at her and said "yes you can". The little girl eas carried up on stage by big security men. She has just been on tv talking about it with her mother! How cute is that? Heres the link!

That video is great! That girl must feel so special singing with Whitney. She should have said "can I do the rest of the concert because I'm better than you!" :laugh:

It doesn't matter what Whitney does now, or the condition her voice is in. She has proven that she can still release a good album with strong vocals (I look to you). People still love her and will continue to support her.
