GoldenLeaf Posted October 2, 2010 at 03:07 AM Posted October 2, 2010 at 03:07 AM Seems like the people working at the RIAA and at the BPI didn't do their jobs. Quote
Kyle_Jared Posted October 2, 2010 at 07:36 PM Posted October 2, 2010 at 07:36 PM It's the not the people at the RIAA or BPI recording associations that are responsible for certifying the albums. The record company and management needs to apply for the albums/records to be certified. Rene needs to get on this. "All the way" is currently at 7,920,000 sold (Should most definitely be certified 8x platinum). Celine is too undercertified: My Love: Should be Gold in the states and at least Platinum in the UKAll the Way: 8x platinum by RIAA and double platinum in the UKTaking Chances: Platinum in Europe (has sold just over a million) Quote

I hope Rene would purchase a million albums for Celine. we're both from the Philippines. aren't we? the last time i checked MLUEC's availability, it's still very much available in ALL record shops i visited. it even went GOLD here for crying out loud. and please give "Rene and all Celine fans should buy Celine's album nonstop" and "oh so the album is not selling well?" a rest. you've been posting that on repeat for the last 3 years already. aren't you tired of it? it has sold almost 2M copies worldwide- no small feat in these times of declining music sales. RLAAMJR. Posted October 7, 2010 at 01:55 AM Posted October 7, 2010 at 01:55 AM I see "All The Way... A Decade Of Song" album and "These Are Special Times" album which I'm planning to buy again. Well , I make it a habit that I buy the Celine Xmas album every Year, at least 1 cos i believe Celine has a shot to make her Christmas album become the best-selling holiday album. I really don't see her album, Maybe on some music stores. But in SM , i didn't see it. I stick to "the album didn't sell well" cos if Celine could only have at least one song that reached the #1 spot in us billboard or in our local stations, it would sell more. Celine songs hasn't really invaded the charts. Quote

wjd Posted October 7, 2010 at 04:04 PM Posted October 7, 2010 at 04:04 PM Outside her top 5 sellers, and the odd other surprise, those digital sales are not that good. Also, with regards to this not selling well - you need to consider greatly the concept that greatest hits compilations, especially those from artists who have already released massive hits collections, do not sell in 2008/9/10, in quantities like before. The album has shipped around 2.25m copies worldwide - only Madonna has shipped more with her Celebration compilation (2.4m copies). And Celine continues to re-enter the national charts across the world with this collection. RLAAMJR. Posted October 30, 2010 at 11:23 AM Posted October 30, 2010 at 11:23 AM Gosh! that would mean one thing. Mariah and Madonna are more popular than Celine. Quote
wjd Posted October 30, 2010 at 11:45 AM Posted October 30, 2010 at 11:45 AM With her last two albums, Celine sold more copies than Madonna did. Celine has also grossed more concert ticket revenue in the US than Madonna this decade. The reason that Madonna has sold more digital tracks than Celine is that she featured Justin on one, and 2005 was her big comeback record (Hung Up). Celine has never been huge on singles Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
