Thanks for the efforts, BUT the sound is extremely bad [tried two and tried different players]; Sorry, will not look at the others in the Brunei concert.
will check on the others now--maybe the mp3's would be better.
I was referring to the sound on the videos

Maybe he was expecting DTS-HD Master lossless audio from Blu-ray. -_-

Wonderfull to have and considering it's from a VHS tape that;s over 10 years old, the quality is fab!

Love it...they are all on my iPod now. She was so on top of her game vocally back then. Although I do like her vocals now, still amazing but not as perfect.

It's a good show, it's very rare though. I did notice how quiet the crowd was aswell, they don't seem very excited or enthusiastic as Celine, especially when she tries to interact and joke with the audience, nonetheless she was amazing as usual :yes:

I'm wondering what language do they speak in Brunei??? Maybe it's not even English so they really don't get the jokes because of the language barrier.

I know Celine is not a professional comedian but still I think that crowd is boring not even Gordie Brown would get them to laugh a little

Anyway I just saw TPOL but I downloaded the whole thing I'm going to watch it in full in the DVD this weekend

While all this was going on, I was preparing another album in English, three or four videos, appearances on TV specials, promotional work everywhere, and interviews without end, some private shows in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, a show for the Sultan of Brunei, and the annual fund-raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Association, held in Montreal just before the holidays.

Held back by some business in Quebec and the United States, Rene didn't go with us to Australia, Japan, Korea, or Brunei. But he joined us for the tour of the European stages. I don't think we'd ever been so happy. I'm not speaking only about him and me, but about our entire entourage—the musicians, the technicians, and the hundred or so people who then constituted our wandering tribe. The atmosphere was fantastic.

yeah the quality is much better then I expected! Her voice was amazingly clear that time. All the efforts she's been putting into since 1992 are at their peak back then. Her voice now is lower and more nasal, but I think that has more to do with aging and not resting so much (like no speaking days) anymore (which I fully understand!!!) but even now her voice is amazing too :wub:

Well I saw a lot of white people there, which I think were diplomats or something, living in Brunei at the time, so I think they understood English very well. I don't think the joked bombed that hard, but keep in mind these aren't fans who go to a concert, they were people invided to the concert!

Overall I think this concert is pretty amazing!! It was great to see TPOL, WIFIL and NW live! :wub2: it brings the songs to a deeper level. I think Céline had a lot of fun with her band on stage and she did gave her all that night. Although during BATB Terry forgot a lot of words! :laugh:

seeing this concert and looking at AND and TCWT it becomes clear to me that now everything is so much more rushed! At this concert (and presumably the whole FIY tour) they made time for the song (full songs!!!) and she took time to talk. Now everything is done in such a tight schedual, which is a big shame! :confused: :down:

I must say I'm not a big friend of her voice during that period. Yes my opinion would lean definitely towards "effortless and robotic" than just "effortless". After reading some comments here one would expect to be very positively surprised but it's not really the case. To me it's one of her better performances but the atmosphere and pressure she had put upon herself (no tapes allowed) doesn'T make her the most comfortable person on stage either. I may be nitpicking on a very good concert but it's certainly nothing compared to Live A Paris (her best concert tape), still great addition for fans of her robotisms and a nice surprise that she still could pull off a full live concert even though many of the songs on her FIY tour were lipped as well.

For me the best concert so far was Live in Memphis, but now it has to be the one, just for the fact it was all LIVE.

If it's not live, it's fake. And it was not.

I don't think the audience sucked, they are differen't people and they were not bad at all.

The only dissapointed thing of all is.... that this concert is 100% live.

I mean... every concert celine does HAS to be live... but they're not.

No he's not. Left around 1997/98 and Barnev came. Think he became a solo singer. Not sure - can't remember :confused:

The only other times that she has sung TPOL in this key was a shortened version on Oprah in 97 and 98...

Thank you SO much for posting this! I'm a new member and am still finding my way around the site. Not used to forums and not very technical - my brother usually helps but because he doesn't usually join anything like this he also had trouble helping me download the concert - he said the rest is up to me, trying to find my way around!! It took all day (he said it should have been posted in DivX which would be a smaller size and easier for people to download, but hey, I'm just SO glad that someone posted it!). I'm sure I'll get more familiar with everything after a few more tries but thank you once again so much and for all those people that care about Celine, I'm proud to be a part of your membership!!

Oh my God! I have just started to download this concert and thought I'd watch a couple of clips. It has taken a long time for me to get round to downloading but I wasn't in a hurry as I thought it would be just another Live in Memphis. So, imagine my surprise when I discover that The Power Of Love is completely live!! This is one of my favourite songs and I love when she sings it live. I even get excited just listening out for the small differences during the opening section just before the playback track kicks in on the usual live versions. So, I watching happily and was just about to close the video before the playback started only to discover that there was no playback...!! And, what's more, she sounds amazing! I really hadn't expected it to be live as I thought she had been using the backing track since 1995.

I can't tell you how happy I am! This has actually made my week! I love it!

And is that Rachel Jeanty I see in the pictures? Things can't get much better! When (and why?) did she leave? I saw Celine in 1997 in London but by that point Julie LeBlanc was there! I loved Rachel!

Was TLYM live on FIYT? On LTALT it was lipped but I don't know about FIYT. I have watched recently TLYM form Live in memphis and from concert with Trisha Lee on violin form FIYT and they are sounding the same.
