Any one able to answer the following: There are obvious differences between the two version of Dans La Main D'un Magicien. These have always puzzled me and now that I have the actual discs, I am even more puzzled. I'm sure tere must be a simple solution though.

 

One clearly has the white strip with the title placed over something else, which we have all seen many times before. Does anyone know what it actually is that's written below. I wondered if it was maybe that they printed La Ballade De Michel by mistake. As that song is 3:00 long which is also the time printed on the label of this version of DLMDM, the song is actually 3:20 long (as correctly stated on the other version of the disc) Other differences here are that there is no mention of Operation Beurre De Pinottes on side A of the non white strip version of DLMDM (Both other discs mention the movie on both sides) and ther white strip version has the cat number written in a slightly different way. I don't have a record player so have not been able to listen to any of these.

Another question. Does anyone know what is the actual correct release history of the Prayer as a single. I know there is the German version with th Merry Xmas from Celine Dion cover and that there is at least one For Your Consideration CD for the Oscars, which is this one. But were there other CD's of this song released for definite. I know that the collectors guide lists a couple of UK ones with this cover, but is that correct as why would an Oscars consideration CD be released in the UK. Also the USA version mentioned in the CG mentions a cat number. But the CD I have clearly has no cat number at all.

I am showing this alongside my priginal red cover one for comparison purposes. The actual agenda itself is exactly the same inside. The cover is created slightly differently in that while the red one is one complete piece of card, the blue one is made up of two pieces of card resulting in an extra flap at the back. (The agendas mention that 25,000 were handed out on the night and that 1,000 were printed especially for the artist.) Unless someone knows differently, I believe that the blue version is that special version and was originally issued inside the leather case to guests of Celine. I have included a screenshot of one of these agendas which was given out as a competition prize in 2003.

Final questions. Did the Canadian version of NBBMH on vinyl come with a picture sleeve, I expect not. Does anyone have a scan of the cover of the Australian CD with the orange stip that I can use on the discography site?

John, gorgeous editions! I must say you have amazing bargains this time! I love that blue agenda and I dunno why there are different versions of DLMDM! anyway goregous stuff! (but i love the NBBMH one the most LOL I love that photoshoot! and as far as I know, the the french 7" didn't come with a picture sleeve! Actually maybe AOW was the last one that was issued with one!)

its my fave celine cover - i ahve the australian cover you can use - ill see if i can find a photo of it for you - might have to do a re-shoot tho.

 

To my knowledge there are no UK prayer cds - deffo not witht hat cover - and theres only one US oscars cd. and it wouldnt have a cat number coz it wouldnt need one - no radio...nothing.

 

and loooove the blue agenda!!!

 

I just got back from paris - and didnt have any time to shop - sooo annoying!!! was there for work and had 14 hrs sleep in 6 days.....in....sane!!!

Her look in the NBBMH cd single is so beautiful indeed She has never worn her hair like that again (well in the ANDHC video she was close to that ) but in this cover she even looks red haired I would say! So precious :in_love:

Thanks Tom. I secretly knew you were the man to come to for NBBMH questions. Thanks in advance for any scans you can find/make of the Aussie cover. Thanks also for the info on The Prayer CD. That makes sense to me. I am going to ammend the details on the discography site now. I can only confirm the existance of this one, the German single the Andrea Bocelli on the bench one and the blue promo from Argentina.

 

Tom one of these days you are going to come on here with a new item I just know it, I still believe in you. Like James Bond, you will return.

The NPPSM cd is sooo cheap! but it was cheap! 1.84 euros at the Media Markt, I just had to buy it!

The promo has PQTME on it, and it's an interactive cd-rom... but unfortunaly the Windows it runs on it Windows 93 or something, so W7 doesn't even support it! It has the video of PQTME on it, nothing more... which is too bad, cos from other artists there are some interview clips! merde!

I've been after that Unison thailand edition too some years ago but finally let it go... I have to add it to my want list again!

 

And those Unison pictures inside a 1992 cd single?? That's so cool! It's a great photoshoot indeed! I know how you must feel when you saw them, because I have something close to that too! I hope to share it soon here

 

I also got a Unison signed CD this week. It's personalised, but I don't care, I just love how it looks

 

In the meantime, I'm still waiting for my LTAL boxset... almost a month since it was sent from Mexico! If it doesn't arrive by next friday I think I will claim my money back

 

I'm also waiting for a great ANDHC item... hope to get it soon, its on its way!

Actually The BATB single was released on November 16, 1991 in Canada, on December 30, 1991 in the United States and the next year in the rest of the world.

 

Can you imagine? the CD was still in recording and the photoshoot of CD didn't even took place!

 

oh and that Unison tape was 8 dollars... no other bids!
