"My Love: Essential Collection" album - Official Topic

I am totally dissapointed with promotion (or rather, lack of) here in France. Every FNAC I go to either has very few CD's (Hopefully because they can't keep them in stock)---and there are no posters anywhere! D'ELLES had tons---but it turned out to be sony's abortion.

The last info I had: #40 on iTunes France.

 

D'elles and TCH got a mild reception in France and now this.

Hey guys, just to let you know that the album has gone gold on its 1st week, and has sold over 40,000 in the uk so far which is incredible! Its been a tough week in regards to new album releases in the uk, and it being a greatest hits album, coming in at number 5 is amazing... We should be happy and proud!

I agree I think the "audience" in the live version of ML is fake,there's no way a huge audience at the TC concert would be that quiet during that song,I certainly know they weren't in Columbus before and after the fan gave her the roses they were cheering,clapping and yelling out "My Love" when she started singing and they weren't dead silent during the song like the so called "audience" in the live version of ML.The clapping just sounds to in sync or something to me,it's to together o.O I think it's a track clapping at the start and end not an actual audience at a concert.

Hehe, you've oviously never seen a Swedish audience. We are very "reserved" over here. Infact I am surprised there is so much cheering during this performance. And in fact I like that, I find it rude when people scream and yell overshaddowing the performer on stage.

 

And if you wanna hear a fake audience, take a listen to If I Can Dream.

I hadn't thought about it but like others said they could have taken out some of the noise during the song and enhanced the clapping.At Columbus though the only time the audience was quiet really was just when Celine was talking and it wasn't completely silent people would randomly scream out "I love you Celine" or "Vegas!" one guy screamed that and Celine shot back with "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." But even during her talking there was laughing,cheering,clapping etc so they've had to have taken a ton of noise out of the live version of that song.I can't imagine a huge crowd just being dead silent that you could hear a pin drop,there are naturally background noises so they've cleaned up the noise levels and taken alot of noise out obviously.

 

I don't think the crowd in Columbus was rude by any means they were excited and Celine liked talking with the audience,I do think that if you are just overly loud and are making noise on purpose and making it hard for the performer to perform then yes it's rude but Celine fans aren't like that.Atleat the fans in Columbus weren't like that.

I finally got my copy today. Although I really wanted it and I'm so pleased she has another top 5 album. I have to say this whole release just screams lazy.

Two of Celine´s Essential Collection is now out in iceland another 2cd and the other 1 cd.

 

I am gonna buy the 2 cd collection tomorrow yeyyyyy... i can´t wait lol.

 

There are rare songs on the 2 disc set like Dance with My father and a new track there Comes A Time. :wub:

Agreed. If Sony really gave a crap about fan favorites then "I Surrender," "Unison (Single Mix With Rap)," "Water From The Moon," "Reveal," and "In Some Small Way" would have found their way onto the album. Instead we get this lame excuse of a release. Totally rushed and incomplete. Those are only a few of the reasons why I haven't bought the album.

and they did it first in A New Day... Live in Las Vegas cd in 2004. the acknowledgment was also a copy from One Heart. what a let down LOL!

that "new edit" isn't printed on my copy, mathias. i looked at the back cover, the cd itself, and the booklet, but they didn't print that THAT was an edited version. that's why i was a bit shocked.

I've bought the USA import of My love..because it includes the amazing "I knew I loved you". Its definately the best of the 3 new tracks. Dance with my father sounds rather bland & dated, there comes a time is ok but nothing special...more like a b-side.

 

I'm disappointed we didnt get more new songs for this CD. For me, the record company havent excatly put much effort into this release by including NO new songs but instead 1 leftover from taking chances and 2 other songs which must have been recorded earlier at some point. All the way included 7 new songs which were quite good.
