takeachance Posted March 4, 2009 at 09:29 PM Posted March 4, 2009 at 09:29 PM (edited) This is slightly off topic, but is anyone else tired of these absurd red carpet fashion events? ....yes, like the Oscars? More and more, it seems to me that people who attempt to be original or different are treated with derision. If fashion design is a form of artistic expression, why, then, is conformity the name of the game? Moreover, the fashion judges never seem to display good taste in their own attire. In addition, they are crude of expression. I realize a lot of it is entertainment, but it's on such a miserably low level (accent on E!). And Céline, who, after taking ten years of abuse for the infamous white suit, apparently learned a useful lesson from the experience - she does not advertize. At last year Oscars, when asked who designed her dress, Céline refused to answer the question and gave the reporter a slight reprimand. I agree - Why let it be all about the dress? That was just a glimpse of the Céline I admire and hope to see more of, on or off the red carpet. I agree with you. I loved the white suit, she looked great, I dont know what the big deal was, shes a big star and she gets away with wearing absolutaly anything. I completely agree with Celine at the last oscars not telling them who designed the dresses, That question gets so boring "oh who are you weraing" Who are you wearing/" Its like what are you talking about, im wearing A DRESS for heavens sake not a person!!!!!!!!!!! So thumbs up to her, Ive searched alot for the clip of where she says this to an interviewer,(that the dress isnt important or something. Id love to see this!!! Does anyone happen to have a link? kerche Posted March 6, 2009 at 10:41 AM Posted March 6, 2009 at 10:41 AM Frida! - This is sooo much fun to read. I can't believe you have such a knack for fashion, designers... and for finding out what Celine wears so quickly! (like her outfit on Star Academie last Sunday) I know my labels, but I cannot tell simply by looking at the design of the clothes. I'm slowly learning - like with Balmain! And then when y'all are able to name the jewelery that she wears -- even more impressive! Quote - Kerry -

Véronyk Posted March 6, 2009 at 10:09 PM Posted March 6, 2009 at 10:09 PM Marne and Sarah got some nails polish it's pretty close to the one Celine's wearing. They found it at a store name: Inglot. It's a make-up store, you can found pretty much all colour that exist. It's in Quebec. I don't know if there's this store anywhere. pascaladolphejean Posted March 7, 2009 at 10:18 PM Posted March 7, 2009 at 10:18 PM (edited) Question: Does Céline wear haute couture? From Wikipedia: The term haute couture uses the legal definition of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture based in Paris, France. Their rules state that only "those companies mentioned on the list drawn up each year by a commission domiciled at the Ministry for Industry are entitled to avail themselves" of the label haute couture. The criteria for haute couture were established in 1945 and updated in 1992.follow these rules: •Design made-to-order for private clients, with one or more fittings. •Have a workshop (atelier) in Paris that employs at least fifteen people full-time. •Each season (i.e., twice a year), present a collection to the Paris press, comprising at least thirty-five runs/exits with outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear. Members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture fashion houses listed on the definitive schedule for Haute-Couture Spring/Summer 2009 are: Official members Adeline André Anne Valérie HashChanelChristian DiorChristian LacroixDominique SiropFranck SorbierGivenchyJean Paul GaultierMaurizio GalanteStephane Rolland Is this Chanel dress haute couture?
