This is slightly off topic, but is anyone else tired of these absurd red carpet fashion events? ....yes, like the Oscars?

 

More and more, it seems to me that people who attempt to be original or different are treated with derision. If fashion design is a form of artistic expression, why, then, is conformity the name of the game?

 

Moreover, the fashion judges never seem to display good taste in their own attire. In addition, they are crude of expression.

 

I realize a lot of it is entertainment, but it's on such a miserably low level (accent on E!).

 

And Céline, who, after taking ten years of abuse for the infamous white suit, apparently learned a useful lesson from the experience - she does not advertize. At last year Oscars, when asked who designed her dress, Céline refused to answer the question and gave the reporter a slight reprimand. I agree - Why let it be all about the dress?

 

That was just a glimpse of the Céline I admire and hope to see more of, on or off the red carpet.

Isn’t it thrilling to see Céline looking so beautiful and elegant?

 

What are the materials? Is the diaphanous outer layer silk organza? Is the under layer silk or perhaps satin?

 

The construction of the dress is particularly flattering: the inverted tulip-shaped skirt, the natural waistline accentuated by a simple bow (no Empire tricks here), the delicate v on the upper horizontal line of the dress, the elegance of black....

 

Whoever designed this dress at Lanvin has a sophisticated appreciation of the female form. The overall effect here is one of elegant, feminine proportion.

And regarding the midnight blue MHWGO tour dress: thanks to out lovely Thomas and his new HQ pics I am convinced that it is a customized Lanvin dress. Look under the feathers, and you will see that the dress resembles the orange Lanvin dress she first wore in South Africa. The feathers and the sequin-like strap has been added to it.

the dress on MHWGO during the 2d part of the Taking Chances Tour is fron Lanvin. I met Mr Elbaz and he told me that the dress has been design especially for Celine with the orange dress as a base.
