I wonder who will solve the riddle what this has to do with Céline, and why this picture fits perfect in this special topic? Let the guessing start ... :bye1:

Although no-one wanted to join the riddle, here comes the solution: If not been already attentive in school at least all guys and girls who have seen "The Martian" (with Mark Wahlberg) know that there is a crater on Mars called "Schiaparelli". Named after the Italian astronomer Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli (1835–1910). He became famous through his groundbreaking observations of Mars - notabene long before any HD or Hubble telescopes! He was the first to discover and name "seas" and "continents" of that planet and in 1877, he observed a network of linear structures on the surface, which he called "canali". Through a mistake in translation ("canal" instead of "channel"), spectaculation started, that there could be life on Mars, as "canals" can only be deliberately build, but "channels" develop naturally.

In recognition of his work one of the biggest Mars craters had been named after him in 1973.

So, what has this to do with fashion?

Giovanni was the uncle of Elsa Luisa Maria Schiaparelli (1890–1973), who launched in 1926 her first fashion collection, which wasn't really successful. Only with her 2nd collection of 1927 interest arroused. Her insperations came from Surrealism, her designs were extrem, mainly for that time. She used a special double layered stitch created by refugees and featuring sweaters. Her business really took off with a pattern that gave the impression of a scarf wrapped around the wearer's neck. That formed the base of the Haute Couture House of Schiaparelli.

With Law and Pepe Céline deceided that Schaparelli will be the major outfitter for the tour 2018. Last year she visited their Paris headquater and the current creative director, Bertrand Guyon, to get a first look of the brandnew collection of which she wore some pieces for the Vogue shooting. Another Schiaparelli dress is the black gown she choosed to add to her Las Veags show in 2015 and which she wore f.ex. for her first performance after René's death. And she was "Schiaparelli all over" for the presentation of her bags in Las Vegas in 2017.

For her X-Mas message and beautiful rendition of the "Wintersong" in December 2016 Céline wore this beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress with roses and peony print. It's made of crepe fabric (viscose). The back of the dress is pure black with a hidden zipper. Seen for about 360 Dollar, original price 2.160 Dollar.

To all the "only readers" and to the very few dear ones, who take time to click on "Like" button or even write a few words:

Enjoy reading ... because as my uploading volume is decreasing there will come a day, where I can't upload pictures here anymore. And without pictures postings up here are useless!!! I've written to both administrators asking for help, but non of them finds it worth even responding to my request. It's really sad. Maybe the only talk to donators. :hmm: I'm not a donator, as I haven't got the tools for donating. :confused1: But I glady try to keep running a once truely beloved thread up here, and make my contribution to the constructive side of this forum. So if anyone of you got contact with the adminstrators, please tell them I would love to receive at least a reply. If they won't or can't increase my upload space it's ok too, just would like to know, cause there's alot of work in every posting and it would be at least fair responding! Thanx. :bye1:

Now back to the Closet, better said, back to Céline's tour-make-up-table. Right behind the "Light Wonder", as posted yet, are lying several shades of Charlotte Tilbury's "Magic Foundation". It's a full coverage foundation yet completely weightless. It's available in 15 shades. To find the perfect shade for her skin, Céline persumably mixes them by using a "Mixing Palatte", like that one of Mac, visible on another make-up-table of hers @ Caesars, Nov. 2015. Made of stainless steel. Costs 17,50 Euros.

New picture posted by "efe_one" @ Instagram, whoever that is, but he praises Céline and how inspiring it is working with her. Céline's wearing "Color Block Sporty Sweatpants" by "Monrow" and the "Colorblocked Sweatshirt Casual Elegance" by the same label.

The original price of the pants was 100,90 Dollar, now they are around 50 dollar. The sweatshirt was around £ 82.81, now it's @ £ 30.27.

The contemporary label Monrow is based in Los Angeles. Founded by two fashion creatives Michelle Wenke and Megan George after they met in design school, the brand focuses on slouchy sweats and simple essentials.

Me too. But through my research I've learned that it makes sense looking for beloved pieces some years after. Most of them get reduced up to 80 or even 90 percent. Like f.ex. the Louis Vuitton "Stephen Sprouse Rose Scarf" in which I immediately fell in love as I saw her with it for the recording of "We are the world" in 2010. This year in June or so I discovered it on a vintage shopping plattform for around 250 Euros ... sure, still expensive for folks like us, but the original price was around 900 Euros, if I remember correct. So it makes sense looking for beloved Celinish Closet pieces some years after.

PS: I still didn't buy that scarf, because for the first time I saw a detailled picture. And that scarf isn't really usable. The material looks really fragile. And I would freak out, if I would get stuck on somthing and pull a thread out of it. And for a scarf by Vuitton I expect a more durable material!

Yesss ... and Zendaya wore the Stella McCartney blazer too in 2012. :giggle:

ps: Céline's pix are from the introduction of "3 gars et un noveau show" ... in case you didn't know. :thumbsup2:

The love for "fashionable snakes" :giggle: lies obviousely in the family. RC @ the "Life is beautiful" festival @ Las Vegas, September 2018, wears Gucci's "Intergalactic Snake Print Shirt". Around 972,85 $

Another look to the make-up-tables @ Caesars in Nov. 2015 and the Tour 2018. Céline likes the "Quad"-eyeshadows of Tom Ford. A set of four sparkle, satin, shimmer or matte shades. They are housed in a chic mirrored compact with soft bristle and precision-point brushes (but I'm sure Céline uses extra brushes). Around 78 Euros each. It looks like she owns the colors "Cocoa Mirage" (shades of brown), "Ice Queen" (shades of blue) and "Golden Mink" (brown shades with more glitter). The other colors are too hard to detect.

Céline presents here her own bag, the "ADAGIO - Tote Bag" with middle zipped pocket and 2 open compartments on each side with magnet closures. I haven't figure out where to find those versions she promotes as they are never up on the official Bugatti store. So I didn't check the sense of promoting a bag which can't be bought?!! So the one up here isn't in the right color scheme. It's 448 Dollar.

But at least the boots were easy to find: They are "CHANEL 2017 CC COMBAT BOOTS", 1.395 Dollar, from the "Fall Act II 2017 Collection". Black leather with silver-tone hardware, cap toes featuring embroidered interlocking CC, quilted panels at shafts, chain-link and velvet trim at midsoles, stacked heels and lace-up closure at uppers featuring faux pearl embellishments and interlocking CC accent.

On the occassion of Nelson & Eddy's 8th birthday :wish: let's look into their closet. And it's no wonder, that labels can be found there too. Cause a stylish mom takes care that her kids look stylish too. :naughty:

While leaving Paris last year both of them wore a tee by "Karl Lagerfeld Kids". Those who don't recognize: It's Mr. Lagerfeld himself printed on that shirt. Unfortunately I couldn't find any price, as it seems to be sold out. But I think it cost more than 10 Euros. :P Regarding that their mother had been a Chanel-Maniac for years and years it's kind of nice, that her kids wear "Mr. Chanel" himself.

Karl Lagerfeld, born 1933 in Germany, started in the fashion world around 1950 in Paris, where he worked for Balmain or Chloé. 1965 he was the creative head of Fendi, in 1983 he took over the most legendary and influential haute couture house of all time: Chanel, where he's the creative director up til now. In 1984 he founded his very own label "Karl Lagerfeld" and in 2015 a kids collection called "Karl Lagerfeld Kids".

As Mo Rocca picked her up from home for their interview for "CBS Sunday Morning" in 2016, Céline carried Altuzarra's Ghianda crossbody bag, original price 2170 Euro. The bag is crafted of black and white leather woven in a lattice pattern. "Ghianda" (the Italian word for "acorn") references the finishing knot at the hand-braided bullrope detailing.

Altuzarra is owned by Joseph Altuzarra, born 1983 in Paris. It is a luxury women's ready-to-wear clothing line. The brand was launched in New York in 2008 and is influenced by Joseph's multicultural upbringing (Chinese-American mother and French father) and his international education in fashion.

Some people cut potatoes in half and carve a bird into it so to obtain a stamp, dip it in fabric color and press it onto a simple white shirt. Others, like Céline last year in Paris, pay 304,23 Euro just because it's labeled "Saint Laurent".

"Céline, next time you need one, just call! I make you one for free!" :sofunny:

Do you know the maker of the blue blazer/trench coat she is wearing in that last pic? I like the laid back style. Her hair looks cool here also. She looked better with the shoulder length hair. It was cute straight or curled. :)
