I think the tour book photoshoot is not paid by SONYBMG, but by AEG, Feelings and other tour sponsors.

thats a good point.

honestly, i dont blame sony for not wanting to put money into a video. TCH had a pretty decent vid and they tried to take her to a new direction. but no one played the vid... at least here in the states. so whats the incentive for them to put in another $250K for another video that wont get played?

at the same time, you have to ask why the video didnt get played and if sony played a part in that as well.

this is such a joke!! it would be better if they didnt release anything at all, instead of just half-assing it and releasing a recycled and shortened vid. couldn't they have shot something when she was doing the tour video/photoshoot? look how many different looks she had for that! the car scene, the super short black dress pics, the trench coat pics, the sweaty pics, etc. with all of those she could have even filmed two music vids just by singing playback for an hour or something while they took pictures. or stop making perfumes and do music vids instead of commercials

it just seems like at first they were trying to push this album as some sort of huge comeback. maybe since TCH didnt really take off, they dropped their plans to push the album more. but its all being done so half-assed that it almost makes you forget that she's the biggest selling female artist of all time.

i dont get that either... she has some pretty good video material she made in the last 3 months... and what do we get? a shortend 'live' version...

take then a real LIVE version, or the video from Star Academy, the energy was much better...

i wrote another rant about this in darren's thread about alone being released in the UK. he was saying that she's unavailable to film another music vid so they probably went with something she performed on tv so they could use that footage. but if thats the case then why not film her performances of SoL or FA from her South African shows, mix them together with some fun backstage moments and release that as a vid?? then it would promote both the song and the tour.

im just sick of all this half-assery!! and whats worse is fans are coming up with great ideas and the record company refuses to even hear us out! we even had someone with influence (chuck taylor) talk to john doelp and he didnt even seem to care or consider what we had to say.

I think after or during the tour, someone really needs to tell Celine or Rene what we really feel. I mean, atleast someone from here would get the chance to meet her and talk to her or maybe get to talk to one of her management guys... and whoever gets that chance should point it out that a forum like this exists where fans do care about her and that we have far more better ideas and plans than what stupid Sony has in store for her.

This could have been brushed off as a mistake had it been done once or twice but c'mon repeatedly its just getting frustrating. And doesn't even Celine or Rene even care that something really fishy is going on here or are they still blindly believing what those idiots at the top tier offices in Manhattan, Ontario or Paris are doing for her career??

As for the video, there were lots of 'LIVE' performaces Celine did for Alone, why couldn't they just use those bakc in December or early January and play it ??

And as Tal said, camera crews are folowing her around throughout the tour, so why not use the performances of SoL/ FA or even Alone and release them instead of taking a badly mimed performce and use it as a MV?? Are they saving one of these so as to use that as a single for the tour's cd or dvd or whatever they may come out with so as to make extra money??

If Celine is gonna take some time off after this tour, she should atleast consider leaving SonyBMG for good or else her album sales and popularity then would be far worse than what happened to D'elles and TCH... no matter how good the albums would be, the release fo these two albums proved that good material wouldn't get her anywhere if the promotion sucked.

Easy, because the song wasn't never a good single :rolleyes: It never worked. It never did good in radios, and for a single that was supposed to be "her big comeback after 4 years", Taking Chances it leaves a lot to be desired. Why?

1) It is a very poor song to be chosen as the first single for a comeback album such long awaited as it was Céline's new english album. It has no power, and we can notice it since the first seconds of the song. There are at least 3 more powerful songs and radio friendly tracks to be chosen as a first single BEFORE Taking Chances. Not to mention the songs she rejected from Ne-Yo and Timbaland.

But Sony always ruins it!! :evil:

2) Its a cover, who denotes the shortage of ideas in Céline's team (and Céline herself) deciding to come back with another cover instead of her own songs like she did with A New Day Has Come, which was especially written for her.

I tell you, I've been and I am more excited with the re-release collector's editions of TAST and ANDHC and the precious forewords written by Chuck Taylor than the Taking Chances album :rolleyes:

The official site is for sure aware of what we think. We know they visit the forums and they just have to enter in the general menu to see how many complaints we are posting here. But do you think they care? Do you think they loose they're time telling anything about this to Céline or René? :rolleyes:

And what is more sad, if Céline or René would know about our concerns, do you think they would wake up from their bubble?. No. They are so happy with Sony. They are blind :confused:

Btw, what happens with the supposed video that Céline did with a spanish bullfighter? Are they going to release it someday or will they better keep it hidden for the eternity?

I think people need to remember that celine is now

a mother well has been for the past 7 years,,

its really hard to please every one but the person most

important to her right now & will be in the future is Rene-Charles!!

Every one here who thinks celine is capable of shooting 3 videos

going on tour & doing promo,, is just selfish, Although i cant blame you

for wanting new things like videos perfumes Cd's Dvd's ETC!!....

But it seems people want things all at the same time

I think theres a lesson to be learned from watching the recoding

session of My Love...

Celine Does so much for her fans already like going on a world tour 2 months

after finishing a 5 year show in las vegas,, releasing 2 albums in one year,,

Going On Photoshoots for tour books & Posters,,

Creating a new fragrance,, Going on a promo tour of europe & The US & appearing on many shows

going on award shows like the world music awards, the oscars, american music awards & Others

and while she is doing this she has a 7 year old son to look after....

She proberly knows that videos & better promo will get her more chart succsess.

but she had all this in the 90's, Times change and people move on,,

since shes had her baby shes changed what she wants out of life and every new mother

would proberly understand this...

i feel that people need to give her a break & enjoy what she's giving us at the moment!!

and wait and see what happenes after that!!...

miracle girl, you are so right too :yes: . You are right with many things you say, BUT if we talk about singles, remixes, special editions etc, Céline doesn't even to be in charge of that! : if she had the right team that really cared for her and her music, we would have plenty of cd singles with each album, well chosen, with great remixes: she doesn't need to do that personally, and that's what annoys me most!. If the label, her team at Sony Canada, or other Sony Music local worried about all these, Céline would be as big as in the 90's or more

It's curious that is like a paradox: the problem is that, all these problems, at the same time, have a very easy solution ^_^ .

They have the power and the have the means, but they think they are surrounded by the best people and the best music label, and its NOT true. Both Céline and René have a blind faith in her team :rolleyes:

But actually... I think I've said this before, but Sony (and many of the big music industries) are having a big industrial downfall at the moment. I'm guessing the reason why they're not as concerned about Celine as they should be is because she's already so successful, and they figure she doesn't need the promotion... I think they're focusing on getting their "less known" artists out there... But my question is, why? Because people will listen to things they don't know about? But honestly... Why spend $5 million promoting a newbie and probably only breaking even when you can clearly and easily spend the exact same amount with someone like Celine and make double the profit? Hmmmm? My question to Sony. -_-

if she cant or doesnt want to do vids, thats fine. everyone knows where her priorities lie and they lie in the right place. no one is asking her to do more then she already is. the issue here is with her record company. i gave an example of how they can shoot another vid that wouldnt take any extra time or effort on her part.

i dunno...this 'celine is a human being' thing i hear all the time is a bit of a fluff phrase. of course she is. so am i. i have parts of my job that i despise...everyone does. every job has a job description and you know that going into it. i have to plan out sitemaps and write w3 compliant code and she has to do video shoots and tours. the difference is that hers pays her millions of dollars and financially she's in a position where she can pick up and walk away from it if she wanted too. and i wouldnt just assume she's doing this tour for the fans. she could very well be doing this tour out of a contractual obligation, the please her husband, to show her family the world, or because she wants to feel that feeling again after being shacked up in vegas for 5 years. she didnt necessarily do it to appease her fans.
