2008 Juno Awards - Celine nominated several times

What's wrong with people these days?

 

it`s all about the most hype and the most talked about artist of the year. this year it happened to be Feist. it was her year no disputing that at all. Celine had her years in the 90`s She can`t win everything all the time. She`s had her winning days now it`s about others. Ì`ve found award shows have always been like that.

I didn't even know who Feist is... and I still don't!

I don`t see anything cruel about her not winning anything. i`m sure she`ll pick up the pieces and be able to finish her world tour.

I've expected this since day 1, especially consider she can't be there. I didn't even bother to vote for her, cause I know it's useless.

Guys remember what Celine has said it's not about winning anymore, if she does win some it's for the producers, writers, and other peope who worked on the album. Maybe that's the best way to go about it. Besides none of those other artists won show of the year in Nevada for 5 years straight. That's something to be proud of. Besides Celine knows who her fans are there the people who sell out her shows there her friends and especially her family. We all know Celine has still one of the best voices out there. I'm proud to be a fan of hers. She's a great role model with a great personality which makes life a whole lot easier.

What a bummer! That's so stereotypical. They know she CAN'T be there. Not that she doesn't want to, but the fact that she physically CANNOT be there. Some people are just too freaking idle and decide to sit their behinds on cushioned seats waiting to get ther hands on a glass doll with metal ribbons around it, while Celine literally runs around the world belting out the best tunes anyone will ever hear, dealing with timezone and climate changes, and simply jetting her rear off !

 

People are full of more poop than needed!

Non of the artists that were at the Junos are Idle. they all work very hard for the music and albums that they create. I think it`s insulting to say that they are idle while celine is globe trotting. celine herself along with Rene decided to go globe trotting. The artists that were at the Junos this year happen to have been around and not on tour.

However I don`t think that it`s the fact that she wasn`t there that she didn`t win. it`s because her time of big winnings is over. it`s time to let the others win. I mean does she really need another award. she doesn`t care anymore

I thought it was too, at first... But I don't know... When I think of it, he was kind of putting her on a billboard. Maybe not intentionally, but he certainly put her out there to let everyone know she wasn't present. But that's just me.

 

But again... don't mind me I'm just totally out of it when I vent. Yes... I'm still in venting mode.

Well, Avril Lavigne was there and she didn't win anything.. The Junos are not a stupid thing like the NRJ in France, it's a serious thing like the Grammy..

 

And yes that's sad for Celine, nothing and she had 6 nominations, but i expected that to happen..

This year it happened to have been Feist with her breakthrough album. Now Feist isn't my kind if music but I do recognise when someone needs to be acknowledged (sp?). Celine has won many awards in the past. It's time for the new generation to show themselves and they are.

First off, I HATE FEIST's song 1234. They play it on that damn ipod commercial every 2 seconds! Second, Don't question his fan-dom b/c he thought a joke about Celine was funny. I thought the joke was a bit out-dated but I still laughed.

 

Third, I agree that Celine's award-winning time is pretty much over. If she wants to win, she's going to have to completely change the way she does albums and she isn't going to do that. I'm sure she will continue to win SOME awards but her grammy-winning days are over till she decides to do something award-worthy. TC is a new direction, of sorts, for her, but its still Celine singing other people's songs. The grammy's usually give statues out to singer-songwriters nowadays. If Celine had taken more time with Linda Perry, they could have collaborated on the lyrics of 'My Love' and the other LP-written songs (as Pink and Kelly Clarkson did). That would have stood out to the music community and possibly earned her a nod. But, until she breaks the Celine Dion mold she's been in, she's not going to garner the awards she did in the 80s and 90s.
