TORONTO, March 27 /CNW/ - With 10 days to go until the big night, CTV

announced today its ambitious broadcast plan in support of The 2008 JUNO

Awards among its multiple broadcast properties. Whether on conventional or

specialty television, radio or online, it adds up to the most comprehensive

and diverse support for Canada's Music Awards in JUNO Awards history.

Dedicated JUNO Awards programming will be seen on numerous news and

entertainment programs on CTV as well as six specialty channels, nine radio

stations and various online properties.

 

Hosted by international comedic sensation Russell Peters, The 2008 JUNO

Awards airs in High Definition on Sunday, April 6 at 8 p.m. ET live from

Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome on CTV and CTV HD East/West (tape delayed in

Western Canada; go to junos.CTV.ca for local broadcast times) and on select

CHUM Radio stations.

beginning at 8 p.m. ET. As well, see live backstage blogging from eTalk

reporter and celebrity blogger Elaine "Lainey" Lui. Once the awards are

given out, Canadians can watch The 2008 JUNO Awards on demand whenever

they like beginning at 10 p.m. ET, along with behind the scenes footage

from the press room, where winners will questions from the media as they

come offstage.

 

The 2008 JUNO Awards

Hosted by Russell Peters, The 2008 JUNO Awards, Canada's Music Awards,

will air on CTV and CHUM Radio on Sunday, April 6 from the Pengrowth

Saddledome in Calgary. It is the seventh year in a row that The JUNO Awards

will air on CTV, the official broadcast partner of the JUNO Awards. Since

2002, CTV has presented The JUNO Awards from across Canada, bringing a local,

electrifying stadium show to millions of Canadian viewers at home.

 

The two-hour broadcast will feature performances from 15 artists,

including Avril Lavigne, Feist, Finger Eleven, Hedley, Jully Black, Measha

Brueggergosman and Michael Bublé. Anne Murray will appear in special duet

performances with Jann Arden and Sarah Brightman. Aaron Lines, Gord Bamford,

Johnny Reid, Paul Brandt and Shane Yellowbird will perform in a special

all-country musical tribute to the host city and province. Since going live

from St. John's in 2002, CTV has broadcast The JUNO Awards from Ottawa (2003),

Edmonton (2004), Winnipeg (2005), Halifax (2006) and Saskatoon (2007).

Previous hosts of The JUNO Awards on CTV include Nelly Furtado (2007), Pamela

Anderson (2006), Brent Butt (2005), Alanis Morissette (2004), Shania Twain

(2003) and Barenaked Ladies (2002).

 

The 2008 JUNO Awards is produced by Insight Productions in association

with CTV and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).

Executive producers are John Brunton and Barbara Bowlby for Insight

Productions and Melanie Berry and Stephen Stohn for CARAS. Louise Wood is

Producer and Donna Luke is Line Producer. Rob Farina is Vice-President of

Programming for CHUM Radio. Ed Robinson is Executive Vice-President,

Programming, CTV. Susanne Boyce is President, Creative, Content and Channels,

"This is....Celine Dion" is the name of the television version of the Live In Memphis concert so it might just be that.

For your information... this is more like a poll. It's NOT the official voting for Celine to win the awards!! There is only one award that is decided by the public and it's the FAN CHOICE AWARD. You can only vote on the official Juno website if you are a Canadian resident...

The special "This is.. Celine Dion" was nice! They cover all her life with old interview from LTAL Tour period, Unison and during TC promo tour in NYC. Jenna Glatzer was also commenting a lot, that was cool!
