I'm not a fan of hers, never been, but I have to say that I was a little sad for her. :down:

It was a disaster.

Shouldn't she fire the guys that are in charged of her playback things (sound engineer etc...) ? :hmm:

I mean Celine does lip-sync too *maybe not as much as her* but something like that NEVER happened (or at least I don't remember such a messy performance...)

This has got to be the worst performance of her career! This might have destroyed it actually. I mean, how do you recover from something like this? She can't sing anymore, if this performance is any proof, so what can she do? At this point she should just admit to the public that she lost her voice and didn't know what to do. It's obvious to everyone now.

Ok so I'm watching her show. Only the second time I've watched, actually keep forgetting about it 😂

They replaced her tour hairdresser. Didn't like the way he did her hair, so they want the other hairdresser (who was demanding a huge wagepacket) back. Hey, just an idea. Why doesn't Mariah tell the guy how she wants her hair done?? Then he can do it each night.

And now they're late for Luxembourg show cos they don't realise there's an hour's time difference between there and the uk. OMFG talk about useless. If it were me I wouldn't be sacking the hairdresser. Bigger issues to sort out.

She showed us there is a level below lipping: To actually refrain from lipping while the pre-recorded track is still on. So pathetic. No excuses for her attitude and lack of professionalism. I'm not a musician, singer or anything so for her song Emotion, it looked like she was searching for her earpiece. She couldn't hear herself (that's what some people said...)
but I have to say for We belong together, so far the lip-sync was going ''fine'' until she just...gave up. The mic so far from her mouth and all that...

hahaha yes - she gave up because she'd been caught out by that point. the track for emotions didnt come on, she couldnt sing physically and so was literally trapped on stage. its like what happened to cheryl cole. and in this situation you would at least try to sing but she actually cant. For all those saying she couldnt hear herself, thats hilarious...as if you can 'hear' for one song (ie she lipped it) and then suddenly not for another (ie the track didnt come on) and then when it finally came back on for we belong together she knew it was over. Plus you can see she can tell where she is in the song coz she tries to riff bits but her voice wont even let her do that.

or does she drunks too much, and she is not able to sing anymore

if she cant sing the same songs with the same arrangements , change the style to fit her current voice, very simple

I feel sorry for her. Someone who cares for her needs to intervene, stat. I think it's clear by now that she drinks way more than she should and she's surrounded by a bunch of people who kiss her @ss for a living. She lives in her own bubble and she needs to come out of it now or it's not gonna end well. Seen it too many times already...

I just read the interview Stella gave (her manager) and wow

Mariah's team repeatedly told the sound people at Dick Clark that M's in ears weren't working, so it was messed up from the get go

Even though Stella saying it was sabotage is something I don't agree with

Mariah Carey's performance during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve still has everyone talking, but no one has more to say about that unfortunate debacle than her manager, Stella Bulochnikov. For those who missed it, Carey experienced some technical difficulties on NYE that affected her sound. In turn, it affected her ability to properly perform along with the pre-recorded tracks (which is normal protocol for a singer who is performing live) of "Emotions" and "We Belong Together".

While she tried to continue the performance as best she could, Mariah got a bit irritated and told the crowd, "Well, happy New Year! We can't hear. I'll just get through the moment, OK?" she said, later adding, "I'm trying to be a good sport here."

"The country deserved better than that," Bulochnikov said of the performance, and added that she was disappointed Carey didn't have an opportunity to reshoot for the west coast. Noting that she hasn't spoken to host Ryan Seacrest since that night, but adding that she's not mad at him for what happened, Bulochnikov tells E! News, "They came to me and said, 'What do you want us to do?' I said, 'I want you to cut the west coast feed, I want you to edit the west coast feed, I want you to do right by Mariah.'"

However, she explains that TV exec Michael Schimmel told her, "We can't do that." Bulochnikov continues, "It's disgusting that they wouldn't edit a better performance for west coast and say, 'Hey, listen we're so sorry that we had a mechanical problem but we love you Mariah, we're grateful to you Mariah, we're going to do anything we can to give America the right performance.' No one even ran out to say to us, hey would you please reshoot? Can you hang back for a few minutes? And can we shoot something else? And we would've stayed on that stage and shot it, but nobody ran out. There's not a human being on the planet that could change my mind that they didn't do this for a viral moment for ratings and that's my problem."

Carey's manager also responded to Mariah's former manager (and ex-husband) Tommy Mottola's criticism of the entire ordeal, and she didn't hold back. "I'm sure he's jealous because Mariah Carey is conquering every single medium despite him. So I'm sure Tommy Mottola can't handle it. I'm sure he's jealous because nobody's worked for him in 15 years and he decided to crawl out of his cave and dust himself off. And you know what my response is? He can just shut the f--k up and mind his own business. He should shut the f--k up and mind his own business, he has some nerve."

While many still seem very worked up about the performance, Carey, herself, seemed to just brush it all off. "S--t happens," Carey tweeted early Sunday. "Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here's to making more headlines in 2017." There we go.

this woman Stella is super crazy and super bitchy... shes like f*** this f*** that f*** urself... what the hell...? i dont understand why Mariahs keeping her; shes comin off as such an attention ho!! i never knew who the hell she was until she became notorious for getting attention on the tabloids for telling Mariah fans to f^@c!< off on twiter !! clearly shes hanging around Mariah being a "yes Mariah" person and taking advantage of every situation to be on TV. ever since she took over its been disaster for Mariah.

And I totally disagree with what she said about Tommy. In my opinion Mariah isn't as successful since leaving him as she was while with him. Yeah had some success especially with Butterfly, then not much. And then a few years later with Emancipation etc, but to me it still doesn't compare. And anyone with ears can hear her voice is awful compared to how it was. I truly wish Mariah would change management, and start looking after her voice again. Really annoyed me in Mariah's World where she said to her choreographer she needs to stop talking but then in the car was talking to Stella and drinking champagne. Wtf Mariah. Her voice could recover quite a lot if she looked after it and had decent people around her.

Anyway, how could they hold the performance back a few minutes? It was New Year's Eve, midnight will not wait for Mariah Carey 😂but it still doesn't alter the fact she didn't even try to sing Emotions. And then for WBT her miming was shocking. She couldn't even be bothered with that - even though the earpieces etc were working for that second song. Unprofessional in my book. Stella needs to stop blaming others and take some of the responsibility too.

I just saw the video and heard the song. It's terrible. I don't care about the way dresses or anything, but I think it cheapens her. I mean, she could be a legend, but instead she's this trashy basic washed up woman.
