New Dawn - There's no question that Celine's a vocalist par excellence but if she wants to tackle the "black" sound, she has to learn to wrap her beltings around a more metallic voice. 2. Song For You - Too tedious for my taste. This song should have been ditched in favor of MTMH. Although I love the violin and Celine's jazzy kind of singing at the end. And I also feel that something is missing. My other un-favourite song is Eyes On Me. It's way to commercial and it doesn't fit on the album. The backing vocals are irritating (too bad Celine didn't sing them) and the eastern feeling (the strings) are noticeable only at the beginning at the end of the song you already forget that there was any of those in the song... MTMH should have been put on the album instead. Quote

It tries to express something that can't be expressed in words and I really love the mood of the song. EOM I loved from the start. It's catchy and upbeat, I love the oriental theme and it's sexy. It's one of my favorites!!!! :-) The Reason I Go On is really missing on this album. :-( Quote

I thnk René is right: it's the diamond on the album. Sure no Single material. but still a manifique song... and to me celine's voice on it is "without all make up" if you understand what I mean. along with CFTF, AWTBI, SOL, ML, (MTMH) and SS the best song on the album. salsacolin Posted December 31, 2007 at 04:48 PM Posted December 31, 2007 at 04:48 PM (edited) It's weird how so many ppl dont like Right Next To The Right One - I think its one of the most pretty songs she ever done so underplayed which makes such a refreshing chance and the the lyrics are so sad and the way her voice sounds is amazing and emotional. Its a cute song that seems to remind me of Christmas...lol I didn't play Skies of LA and A Song For You much at the start cos I kept wanting to play the rest over and over but after you play the other ones to death its good to discover the softer songs because usually find they are special in their own right. I think Skies of LA is the best way to end the album. I still don't know why you call it the "diamond" or whatever gem of this album... must be the pre- $1.6 mn poker effect 3) New Dawn - why in the world does she start with Jesus and in te middle turn it into a woman themed song by shouting "..I AM W-O-M-A-N.." ... well, I think it's still the post - 2003 Oprah Special effect The growers : EOM (still a bit empty for me though), SS (I didn't like it from the RS but this grew on me and now is one of my favs (thanx, Davey ) The losers (which I'm losing interest now) : Alone, TJTWIM and SOLA Quote
