Weird... but do you still want to hear the song...!? :shifty: Just weird she didn't perform the song... ^_^

I didnt really want to hear it...its just that she always finishes with it...so yeah in a way it was weird not to hear it. One of those things you come to expect for her..

 

maybe she really IS taking chances :rolleyes:

All of the promises broken..

And all of the songs left unsung...

Not even an ad by the CHEAPOS at Sony advertizing the CD during commercial like previous specials...

They are not promoting the new album, only the new tour. That gives a lot of $$$.

 

 

I guess but as far as I know, record companies don't get any profits from concerts, right? Isn't it like the promoters and the artists?

If I'm not wrong, I remember I've read the company responsable for her new tour was the responsable to get this tv special.

I noticed they also cut her hits medley...another good move I guess, but I liked those songs lol.

 

Okay...my review...way too many commercials. The concert seemed rushed. And they didn't use any of the footage they filmed of fans outside the theater... pshh...

 

 

they definitly should have had more songs, less commercials. Esp. after the first commercial break, they cut it awquardly with the audiance laughing when it cut to a shot of celine (they were laughing at a joke but it felt like they were laughing at her dress)!

It's over...that was short.

 

There's a lot we didn't see though. During the promo she said "the songs you love and the songs I love to sing" and we didn't hear that...didn't even see her wearing that outfit and I thought she looked the most beautiful in it too. TLYM was cut out and I reckon she also sang BYLM & IACBTM...all gone. I know they had to edit it down to fit the timeslot but it just seemed like it was lacking something. The audience sounded loud but looked dull (the mezzanine looked very alive though). Celine's dancing wasn't exactly amazing. They could've added back-up singers to TC & TJTWIM to make it seem more believable. Will.i.am looked so disconnected from Celine, it almost looked like he was just paid to show up (despite the fact that his leg was broken). I don't want to sound condescending or mean in any way, but this special ranks low in comparison to the others.

So that's a good thing. Tomorrow, some people will be talking about. And they will say about the woman who has the great voice and nice music. Not the woman of titanic.

That doesn't surprise me though. There are some people who always complain, no matter what. Nothing is ever good enough for everybody...someone's always going to have a negative opinion on something. :confused:

 

 

Get real. Did you see the show? Not only can Celine not dance hip-hop, she doesn't FEEL it. No fault against her but it isn't who she is. It is not her style and that is why she is not popular these days. That's reality not negativity. And the remix is not that good, period.

Why can't we be positive once and actually be thankful that we got a special to start with. I understand that people might not like this or that song and that's perfectly fine. Give your opinion on it but don't *CENSORED* about this song not being in there. I mean thank goodness that MHWGO wasn't in there. it's about time they took it out. Yes it would have been great if there had been a commercial aboutn the new album but there wasn't so i think we should get over it. I just look at the fact that we got a special and at this point I think that we should be thankful that we even got that.

I agree that she def looks silly trying to dance to hip hop, but I liked the mix. Like someone else said, Will.I.Am really did look dissconnected, almost like he was mocking her at some points.

 

 

haha I also thought it was funny how celine missed all of walsh's joking movements at the end

 

...and to Del, I think most of us are trying to critique it, and the fact that we're here, talking about it shows that we're thankful and excited about it.

I disagree with others. I've seen EVERY SINGLE CELINE DION CBS special on the date that their aired, and this, to me, BY FAR IS THE BEST ONE.

 

The show was spectacular. Celine has NEVER LOOKED THIS GOOD. She even lipped like a PRO!!!

 

I thought she even danced better than before, and it didn't look tacky like "Treat her like a lady". Will.i.am always acts like he's choked up on weed...he was the same here. He's not a "serious" acting artist, he's spacey and crazy.

 

I think this special will show people the REAL Celine Dion, not just the legend but the woman that can sing not only ballads, but R&B, operatic numbers, and Bollywood.

 

A++++ Just wish it was longer.

I thought the Celine Special was pretty good. Celine looked and sounded amazing. Yes, there was a lot of commercials but what else is new. They cut her MHWGO performance because people have seen and heard it too much. As for the medley, that is on her DVD so they probably didn't want to sound too repetitive. I like the Will.i.am version of EOM but I missed the Indian beats from the original version. I give Celine 2 thumps up for putting together such a nice Special. :clap:

yeah...there was a third question i believe..and it was good one i think. I can't remember what it was lol.

No I didn't see the show. I don't have television. And besides, I am not referring to this song/performance specifically. It just seems that whenever I come here there's much more negativity and criticizing of Celine than there ever is any praise. I realize nobody's perfect and you shouldn't expect people to always be satisfied and praising her, it just seems that some people are never satisfied anymore, or at least grateful that she still performs. If I were her I would have gone into retirement already.

I'd have to agree to a point that this special could have been, well... more special. I enjoyed her past specials (All The Way, ANDHC, TAST) more. Dont get me wrong Celine was great & she looked great too, EOM sounded cool, the little story about Josh was sweet :in_love: and the question & answer piece was amusing lol. It could have been longer & feature more songs from Taking Chances. Yes we know and love Celine's past songs but she has new ones now and they should be heard.

With that said...it was still a good show...of course.. its Celine! :wub:

I totally agree but the lyrics and the beat just did not seem to go together at some parts, for me. Like when the crescendo builds in the orignal (which is the only part of the song I like). It felt really disjointed. Will see with the final product if it ever get released???
