Your_Su_Phu Posted March 9, 2008 at 11:01 PM Posted March 9, 2008 at 11:01 PM I was at the concert too on Saturday night. I watched Celine practice during the afternoon through the windows of the doors at gate 30. I could see the giant screens from there. I know that she practiced at least from 3 o'clock until 5 for sure. When I got there at 3, she was practicing A World to Believe In. Ito Yuna was wearing the same black dress during rehearsals as she wore that night for the performance. Celine had her hair tied up in a bun in the back and had a yellow shirt cut off at the shoulders. Before the concert started I saw Celine's family walk out and sat to the left of the stage, 5th row. I was very high up so I couldn't see very well but I did see her mother, sister, brother-in-law, Rene and Rene-Charles. As for the show itself, great videos and visuals but on some songs the music was too loud and the echo too strong. A World to Believe In sounded really bad (Yuna's voice and the piano's echo did not blend well). When the first few notes of To Love you More started, the two couple next to me started stood up but sat back down when they realized that it wasn't Taro Hakase playing. There seemed to be a general feeling of disappointment. We (us foreigners that attended the concert together) also had a laugh when Celine tried to get the audience to sing We Will Rock You... it was all very quiet in Tokyo Dome... not surprising to me but she seemed a little shocked. Very disappointed that Can't Fight the Feeling was cut. Also, watching the show from so far back was quite a buzz kill. The stage looked horrible because it seemed to be in the middle of no where, surrounded by boxes of equipment and cut-off cables. It seemed very inaccessible as the first row was so far away. The thing i noticed about the conveyor belts is that when you are far away, you can't see her move on them so you have to rely on the screens. But on the screens, they cut her off from the waste down so you never realize that she is walking on the belts. I did notice that all four corners have platforms that go up and down (at the end/beginning of the belts. Also, when the center part of the stage is all the way down in the pit of the stage, I could see the faces of the people working under the stage. Someone asked earlier about PQTME, she did sing it, right before A World To Believe In. The 5000 Yen (48.75 USD - 31.80 Euros - 52.60 AUD - 24.21 GBP) tour book was really overpriced but there was a lot of info on people working with her on the show. It's funny that there is a lot of the credits that go to some of the choreographers that worked on A New Day... because a few bits here and there are the same choreographies. The lighting guy also used the ceiling of the Dome as a backdrop for special effects. He could have used it for video projection was kept it safe with regular light patterns. There were quite a few opportunities where the lights could have been better. Generally, it was ok at best. The thing I can't get over is how far everyone was sitting from the stage. Not contact with the audience at all. Looking forward for the concerts next summer! aww that sounds dissapointing. but to be honest the videos thomas posted look amazing! I frigging love the intro and at least the crowd seemed to scream when she first appeared Quote
