Ok...just be careful with the cameras, everyone. The e-mail we got really scared me, I wouldn't want to hear of anybody being kicked out, because I know how much you all love Celine!

5 days til Sydney....if anybody has any tips on how to stay calm, I would appreciate it. It's gonna be my first time seeing Celine and I am already highly emotional and not at all relaxed.

Celine to celebrate 40th here

Celine Dion will celebrate her 40th birthday in Sydney this weekend with an intimate gathering of family and friends including her husband Rene Angelil and seven-year-old son Rene-Charles.

 

Dion, who is scheduled to perform in Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights, is hoping for a low-key birthday celebration in the midst of her Australian tour.

 

"It's her birthday on Sunday, the day after her second Sydney show," a source involved in Dion's Australian visit says. "That's one of the reasons why her husband and son are coming out here with her, so they can be here together on the day."

 

Dion and her family flew into Australia last week for a relaxing holiday break ahead of her concerts. The megastar Canadian performer travelled to Australia with a small-ish entourage (in other words, she is a diva on stage, but not in real life) although she has hired an array of touring staff and production managers for her big-budget show.

 

Dion spent five years in Las Vegas performing her one-woman extravaganza (which grossed more than $430 million), so it has been a long time between concerts for Australian fans.

 

Like her or loathe her, Dion is the biggest-selling female artist of all time, and fans from across Australia and parts of Asia will travel to Sydney to see her performances.

 

It is 12 years since the singer last toured here. Of course, the Dion experience doesn't come cheap - premium tickets for her show cost up to $399 each, although there were a number of seats available at $99 (despite strong demand initially, Dion's shows are yet to sell out, with tickets available for each performance in Sydney).

 

The singer's first show is in Brisbane on Wednesday night. She will travel to Sydney later in the week for her two planned concerts before enjoying private birthday festivities on Sunday.

Now visiting superstar Celine Dion is also proving to be the queen of generosity, according to one of the dancers performing in her Taking Chances world tour.

 

Celine and her entourage arrived in Brisbane over the weekend in preparation for her first Australian show – at the Entertainment Centre on Wednesday night – and touched down after a gruelling 17-show run throughout South Africa, Dubai, China and Korea.

Though normally accustomed to five-star accommodation, a promoter error saw the show's dancers put up in some less-than-stellar lodgings on a handful of occasions leading up to their arrival in Brisbane.

 

To make it up to her devoted staff, Celine handed them all a small parcel recently to thank them for their patience.

 

And what was inside? Each dancer opened a box to find a large, gleaming two-carat diamond.

 

"It's huge. I've got no idea what to do with mine," one dancer told Qconfidential.

 

"But it's beautiful. She is so lovely to work for. All the dancers love her, she's amazing."

 

And the gift has a pretty amazing price tag. A jewellery expert tells us a diamond of that quality could fetch anything from $10,000 to $200,000. Not that it would make much of a dent in Celine's earnings.

 

The French-Canadian songbird, who holds world records in album and ticket sales, raked in just over $250 million from the three-year run of her A New Day show in Las Vegas.

Wohoo!!! Looks like Celine is here! I wish I had of known when she was arriving at the Brisbane airport....I rang everyone including the airport and of course no one would tell me exactly which day she was arriving because of privacy laws, so sorry...no photos Did anyone else in Brisbane see her arrive??

OMG guys, I'm not coping. Ive been listening to the Taking Chances album everytime Im in my car, and on my iPod and ANDLILV, this has crept up so nicely! I'm going to the Brisbane, Sydney 28th and Melbourne shows. About one month ago I was really regreting buying a ticket to the Melbourne show because along with the ticket you have your airfares and accom etc... but now I don't care and it's soooo worth it, plus my Sydney tickets were free!!! Ill be in the front row for the Brisbane concert section S47 row AA do I'll see all you Brisbane folk there! Hope everyone enjoys it! Also! one of her dancers is Australian!! His name is Zac Brazenas, and I'm not going to tell you how I know that ......hehe.

OMG are you serious??? I live 10 minutes away from the Palazzo Versace! I am just about to jump in my car and drive over there!! How do you know she is there? I am going to drive over in the morning first thing before I drive to Brisbane. I will just faint if I see her!! I will take my camera - I hope I see her

You might be on the highway with her....keep a look out for all hire cars with black windows!!! How did no one see her arrive at Brisbane airport...she must have arrived very very early or very very late at night....

I'm so excited that I'm going to the concert at Brisbane. Her tickets for certain seat categories were sold out for a long time, and I've finally scored two tickets when they released limited number of seats a few weeks ago. Been a long time fan but have never had the opportunity to attend her live concerts. It's a bit dissapointing that there's not much information about Celine's arrival in Brisbane, otherwise I would have been at the airport to show some support. There's also not much news on Celine and shes still not on any breakfast tv shows (yet).

 

I'm also glad that Anthony Callea is the opening act (not that she needs a support act) and I hope that they will perform The Prayer together.

i am not going to the show my show is in september in the us. have fun at the show and remember to post pictures if you are allowed to take any. let us know also what merchandise they have for sale. also will this be the round stage for this show?

Celine's concerts in Australia are setup with the end stage configuration, even though most of the venues can accomodate a round stage configuration.

I found it funny that Céline is staying in a 5-star hotel and the dancers at the backpackers, lol!

 

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed for you that anyone of you will finally spot her somewhere and that there will be more buzz on her in your local media!!

 

I'm kinda surprised though that Delta isn't announced as a support or guest act. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear them singing together!!! Delta is one of my most favourite singers!!!!
