You can slice it anyway you want to, Bellamy, but your comments were not "constructive." I'm not going to go any further explaining why they weren't. Hopefully you'll be able to understand.

 

As for the comments regarding "I Drove All Night"...I hope that Celine will possibly change her mind regarding playback. I doubt she will, but it would be nice if she sang every song. Heck, I'd even go for her performing in less venues if it meant having her actually sing. If that were to mean I'd have to pay the money to fly somewhere then so be it.

 

Just my two cents.

Anyway...

 

I watched the video a couple times and I don't think it's as bad as it could have been. I've seen a lot worse screw ups when it comes to lipping (Ashley Simpson) than this. I remember seeing Cher's "Farewell Tour" when Cyndi Lauper was her opening act and having Cyndi a few feet from me not moving her mouth at all, yet I could clearly hear the words to "Change Of Heart" coming loud and clear from the speakers.

If you listen to some bootleg you'll notice most of the songs are live...

Like Alone she sings it differently almost evrytime!

 

Personally I don't care if she sings live or lip it.

It'"s not like she's lipping from the cd!

 

Personally I love her for who she is, i don't matter at all!

I attended the concert in Vienna, too, and although I realized that certain songs were not live, I do not regret at all paying that huge amount of money for the ticket. She proved that her voice is still amazing 'cause I'm sure the majority of the songs were live and I forgive her for those lipped ones. I'm glad having seen her finally.

i have just saw the video of i drove all night in wien.... i understand quite clearly that it may be disappointing and that this shouldn't happen, is like saying "we know but we want to pretend that we don't know".... but, i think that this allows us to understand that celine can still use her voice.... there are just some part in playback... and what???? i think it's quite normal.... she has to prevent her vocla chords. remember that until january she will be touring across the world.... she can't risc to distroy her voice. she need some rest. there's nothign wrong with that.

Celine was featured in "Oesterreich" and the "Kronen Zeitung" which came with an exclusive DVD of "A New Day", the disc is a picture disc, surely a collector's item! Stay tuned for many more amazing pictures from the concert.

IDAN is funny- she deserved a big hard kick up the #ss. This is going to be exposed soon and then Team Celine will have some major damage control on their hands- "World's Biggest Selling Female Artist Can't Sing"- which isn't true- she can. I think they've got giddy with notes here and there playback- if she can sing Alone and BYLM live she can sing anything- altho the end notes on Alone aren't ....round in circles. I don't care- the show is amazing- I know she can sing. And I love her.

I'm a fairly new fan to all things Celine, and when i saw her manchester i knew which songs were live and which were playback.

 

But that didn't stop me having a good time. Or my nan. I never told my nan, because i didn't want to wreck her experience.

 

But even knowing didn't fault my night, i still sang along at my loudest throughout all her hits, playback or not.

 

I was just a little disspaointed that i knew MHWGO was going to be playback, but when it came to it, i got lost and forgot it wasn't live!! It was such an experience.... I guess i knew nothing could go wrong.

 

She was amazing that night, and i definately see her live again!!

You know guys I've had a HUGE partytime and I've been dancing till feel dizzy. I've been in Paris but this concert was better for me from the first row. IDAN was a little surprise but who cares? The feeling that she sang for us and saw us was the best moment.

How pathetic things I've read here today. Since when saying what you really think makes you a worst fan? Give me a break. I'm a fan and not a crazy person. When she did playback in Vegas, we had to understand, but now she is not singin everyday anymore. Playback in a TV show is one thing, playback in tour is another! That's not a CELINE DION thing. That's not what made her what she is nowadays. And that's not why people go to see her in concert.

She could have saved the song very well but the problem is she didn't expect anything bad to happen. She could have easily nailed the song live but she got nervous evidently cuzz of the "technical" difficulties.

Aren't the Sound desk and Video desk in the same place?

 

If you notice at the end of the intro the Video froze and the guys probably went to sort that out. Celine came to sing her opening lines and when the lipped version kicks in, maybe they forgot to turn her mic down and turn up the lipped vocal track on the mixing desk. It probably took a while to correct cos they probably needed to get to a point when they can re introduce it so it would sound like a smooth transition.

 

I think Celine was shocked and we don't know what she hears in her ear monitors. Maybe Michel told her to sing!! And seeing as she hasn't sang the song live for a while, she forgot how much breath she needed for 'inside' and fell short.

 

It was horrible!! but at the same time probably un-noticable to a lot of people who maybe thought she just had a cough and needed to clear it lol!!
