It looks like some other pop and Hot AC stations are playing "Taking Chances." That's great news and I hope the video is great so it boosts its mainstream appeal. I also hope the follow-up singles are great. I was listening to ANDHC and it had so much potential and could have sold millions more if five or six singles had been released, as there were amazing gems as "I Surrender," "When The Wrong One Loves You Right" and "Right In Front Of You."

This is the smallest change so far.

I hope radios are not slowing down because they havent heard any more about the song.

maybe some more will add today and tomorrow and Monday we will get the video or at least news about the video.

I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........

In Celine's case, it doesn't matter whether or not this single is a chart success. With her name alone she can fill up arenas. As somebody else already pointed (as most of you already know), albums now are mainly the equivalent of adverts on television for a TV show. An album is now an advert for the tours.

 

With "A New Day..." wrapping up, I think 'Taking Chances' is right now merely a buzz so Celine is talked about even more. Once "New Day" is over, she'll be able to do a full-on promo tour and then prepare for her world tour or whatever plans she has.

i had the feeling from the beginning that Taking Chances isn't the best single in this album and they are keeping the best for 2nd, 3rd single once the album released, AND over and so celine could do more promotion...

they released TC only to prepare the listeners to the new celine but the best singles are still there. we have to wait

If it makes you all feel better I heard Taking Chances three times in a row on three different stations (one of them not having played the single before) on the 30 minute commute home from work, so that's gotta be a good sign!

I just saw that Celine was two times on The Rock Detente Décompte with On s'est aimé à cause (#4) -it was at number 5 last week, so it will increase again and rapidly reach number 1 in the next weeks- And she's also at #19 with Taking chances (it's the only new entry this week, so that's great!) the album will be out in a month, why should ot go faster...its STILL going up with no video to back it up and that's GREAT! The video will be out (at last) this week so it can only do better ;)

VH1 will play it for sure and the u.s is not the only place in this world .

the video will help the song alot in europ...

She is actually even on the Top 40 Taking Off list even though its only 1 new station with 7 spins....lol

I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........

I think you may be right. The video will be ready exaclty for her European promotional tour and with that video and her appearances the song can AT LAST become a hit it deserves to be. At least in Europe.

What kind of radio stations is that?

 

According to me, Sony has made a mistake (for a change... :whistling: ). Usually, they send the single to radio stations months before the album release... in this case, it was too late I think as TC goes up very slowly! The album is out in less than 1 month... SO I hope, it will be faster in the coming weeks (days...). Though, I still think TC is a very good choice.. it will "explode" sooner or later. Let's give it time!

 

One thing I don't understand is people who says " we need the video"... why? Don't see the link between video and radio airplay.

Just noticed that she's also on the Hot AC Taking Off list with 1 new station and 9 spins! :)
