LOL. Tell that to the girls here And also the fact that he gave a sold out concert here adds to his success. Bryan Adams was the top seller here for many years owing to the fact that he gave 3 concerts here. But it all changed in 2002 with ANDHC when Celine came on top due to the title track and I'm Alive (It's still in the top 100 of various radio stations). Then OH was very successful because of IDAN especially the video

 

But I am sure the top position will again belong to Celine when she releases Taking Chances but the video needs to be hot one too

On Hitsearch, we can see that Taking Chances appears on several charts around the world. We can even vote for the song on some of them.

In general, it seems to do quite well up to now.

such a waste...this song is going to be a hit on AC stations . it doesnt even have to be a hit on pop stations , all we need is a decent amount of spins there too and we'll get it the second sony will move their %%@#@ and send it to pop stations

 

the album will be out in a month - by this time people should already know the song and that's not the case .

i hope her promotional blitz will convince sony to release the song to pop stations too...

i also hope the song will take off in europ...for now it seems too slow there too

i truely think noone knows what's going on in their heads . on the one hand it seems like they truely believe in this album on the other hand nothing has changed and they r still not doing the minimum needed

 

i already gave up regarding her commercial success in the u.s - her singles will never top the charts there again ...i thought it might be possible due to legal downloads which count too this days but as we see while britney burns that chart celine is nowhere to be found

 

i still hope this song will be a hit in europ tho - it's still possible...

not that i care about what u say but the song was NOT sent to pop stations...those who play the song r doing it under diffrent conditions . the song never went for adds on any other fornat .

But do you have a proof that they didn't sent it to Pop stations? Maybe they sent it there with Mysterious Artist....

Is it my fault if YOUR system is so complicated? Is it my fault if YOUR system allows only sh** to enter the Billboard Hot 100?

I mean in any other coutry , it 's so simple :

 

France: physical singles

UK: physical singles + downloads

 

US: audience, spins, downloads, views... and I don't know what else ! Oh God! After that, it's logical that your charts have the same crappy "artists" and many others don't have chances to enter them! it's just musical discrimination...

The problem is that half of those 6.868 listeners are already dead or comatose.

pretty good it seems to be going up 20-30 a day but I dont think it will make much of a jump this week she is currently sitting at number 15 (mediabase daily) on the A/C charts.

 

What day is the cut off?

Totally agree! I think Sony tried with a select few POP stations and figured out that at this point, they need the song to become a hit at AC and wait for her break to unleash the promo. It is clear from the Billboard article that they "seem" to really have a strategy, the add in Billboard being the catalyst. I am convinced the video will be out next week. It is not overnight that her reputation for singing "cheezy ballads" will change. We have evidence that POP stations did receive it but only played it once or twice because it was Celine (ie not cool). In Canada, POP stations are giving it a chance and it appears to be doing quite well.

 

Although I was never a fan of the song, the billboard article has had an effect on me and I can see why Celine was so eager to shed her "staid" image. It is interesting to see people's reaction when they hear the song, like that's Celine? I hope it works but it definitely won't be easy with POP sations in the US who would rather play Shitney's stuff...I am hoping that HOT AC programers can at least be more open to the song which would suit the formats to a "T". Whatever happens with Taking Chances, I hope Sony will follow through with the image makeover and choose an appropriate second and third single unlike One Heart, which I think was the precursor to this image change. It started with IDAN and had singles on it that could have definitely contributed to an image update but quickly reverted to the tried and true with the release of HYEBIL...

On mediabase today 92 profm has TC at 48 it finally made it on there I keep requesting it Kiss 108 says they don't have this song I called a few times talked to different DJS but no luck there :-(

I prefer when Celine is "only" Nr 2, 3 or 9 - but a more and more accepted singer. She has had money, Nr. 1-hits and Nr.-1-albums enough. But never, never acceptance and acknowledgment enough in the medias... The most beautiful gifts are now articles like in 'billboard' or 'Stern'...
