i hope team celine (member- celinedion.com) can speak to sony/cda/feelings, and maybe set up competitions for like 5/6 team celine members from each country to go to a sony office/venue in their country, to have a listening party of the album closer to the album release, for those of us who dont live in the states/vegas!!!

I find it EXTREMELY ridiculous that CelineDion.com come here with their legal threats and actions not to repeat such events. What an utter cheek. Their promise to us, as paying customers of TeamCeline, is to provide us with offical content and material BEFORE everyone else. Sorry but I don't think so. I ALWAYS read about Celine news, see Celine photos, watch Celine videos and YES listen to new Celine Dion material elsewhere on the internet before CelineDion.com or TeamCeline.com provide it for the paying fans. What a disgrace.

Remember that period of time when we didn't know what was going on with the sale of tickets for the final show? It would have been great if someone from Celine's team came on and gave us some more information or maybe acknowledged our frustrations and gave us some inclination that they'd post more info as soon as it was available. There's about zero interaction between the fans and Celine's team, and on the rare occasion there is, its only to come here and scold us. Thats what I find unfortunate.

Although they don't participate in the discussions much, I think it's nice that they show up from time to time. If I were TC I wouldn't want to become too involved here, because once you start to reply questions as an official representative you will be overloaded with more and more questions. That doesn't mean comfirmation of rumours now and then wouldn't be a welcome way to interact with us fans

I just hope that the people going to this event are open minded and will contribute constructive criticism. Not everyone has the same taste in music... especially Céline's, as she her music covers a WIDE spectrum. I personally LOVE the blues & r&b style that is represented in her French music and occassionally in her English releases (LCMM & Why Oh Why ).

Maybe they will take some advice about which songs to release for airplay, especially for those of us are still on our hands and knees praying and begging for "I Surrender" to be when the ANDLV (CD)/DVD is released.

We are aware that some members have been discussing ways of attempting to enter the album preview event with cameras, recorders or cell phones. Please note, that these discussions have been forwarded to the head of security at The Colosseum. Security will be taking extra precautions to ensure that guests comply with the no camera/recording device/cell phone policy. If you attempt to enter the event with these devices, you will be immediately rejected from the premises and your seat will be revoked.

 

Additionally, photo ID as well as employee ID and/or proof of TeamCeline membership will be verified at the door to ensure that guests attending are on the original RSVP list. Names will be cross-checked at the door and matched to the RSVP list provided by The Colosseum Box Office. If your name is not on the list, even if you have a ticket, you will NOT be admitted.

 

This is intended to be an exciting event for all guests and we want this to be a positive benefit for our members! However, if members abuse this opportunity, we may reconsider inviting TeamCeline members to events such as this in the future.

No, their post was totally over the top and we're justifiably annoyed at them coming to our forum to shout at us when a few fans make silly comments. How come they've ignored our posts for years but all of a sudden we do something they don't like and they're straight here to make a fuss. And I'm sorry but they have no right to talk to us like that! We pay for the TeamCeline service and we deserve a chance to take part in these kind of events. Most of us didn't even get an e-mail letting us know anything was even taking place so I think the fans being excited to hear the new songs is understandable. What if I was in Vegas during the album preview? I wouldn't have even known about it if it wasn't for this forum. All they had to do was remind us of the rules. we only know a song in our heart after many times (a new song can sound bad as a first listening);

try to be kind with your judgement! Celine is trying something new for her, and for us, if you find something different, but something that will bring her a hell of success, let it be! We all support her anyway, just let it be!

 

BUT, if, by the way, some song is really HORRIBLE, do your comments carefully, cos if you are there some BIG shot (even Celine) can read what you gonna say! Be kind.

 

These days, Adult Contemporary songs are very rocky, bust they're all spicy with Jazz, Blues, Folk, some eletro contents, R&B. Celine may have tried some of this stuff. Be aware if she has kept who she is (the way of her singing even with strange new sounds), if so, let it be!

 

As for a NEW sound, fãs maybe desapointed. I'm really amazed... How will these people react? If Celine is calling people to listen, I think that the audio is gonna show some... NEW stuff. This is great, but I do say again> ask to listen again... listen carefully... be good, ok??

I totally agree with what you said. I find extremely cool that CelineDion.com comes here on board and listen what we have to say... I wish they listen to everything and not only what they want to. So here's what I think: Céline has a very big (and may I had great) worldwide fan base. And although I believe this events are great and should happen more often, I also believe that EVERY Céline fan has the right to know what is going on. I am a Team Celine member. I do pay for the membership. Why should I be left out of this just because I'm portuguese and don't have the money to travel to hear to the album preview? Is the Céline fan base only located at Vegas or Paris? WE are not.

 

I can only speak for myself, but I think I won't be saying a lie if I say that many of us are feeling left out of this. Team Celine is an elite of Céline fans? Maybe. Is there an elite inside of the elite? Maybe... I can not possibly go because I can't afford it... But if I could: I didn't get the e-mail (as I don't get many of the newsletters... go figure why). If we all pay for it, we all have the same rights. Not only many of us pay the membership to TeamCeline but also we buy every album and DVD through out Céline's career. Because we want to and love to.

On the one hand, I understand that Sony/BMG Canada wants to protect the unreleased songs they're about to play to fans and others at that listening session next Monday.

 

On the other hand, Sony/BMG Canada handled this in an extremely unprofessional manner. If they had fear that people would attempt to come into the Colosseum with listening/recording devices, they should have contacted the security people to let them know and that would've been the end of it. Instead they arrogantly came in here being disrespectful and threatening the fans, the ones who actally pay for their salary, mortgage, car, food... livelihood.

They are just sending a plain warning out to people who are trying to take advantage of this event. Scalpers may come on this forum and try to sell tickets via pm to fans...and some fans may be gullible enough to purchase unbeknownst to the alerts that have been posted.

 

The fair thing, at least to the fans not attending this convention, would have simply been to create an opinion forum on TC to express our hopes for the new album with confirmation that the info we share will be reviewed by someone on her production team. If not, the least they can do is post reviews of what went on at the convention: if people were happy with what was presented to them; if they will be taking further steps to improve based on the feedback they received, etc.

 

At the same time, I agree with many of you that their first post since more than a year ago is a disclaimer saying our conversation has been forwarded to security officials. This forum is meant for fans to voice their thoughts and ideas. At least they now know how we feel and when TC membership plummets they'll know why.

Well, it's nice to know that CelineDion.com is still "out there" in cyber space reading our comments.

 

Personally, I didn't find the message to be rude or anything of the sort. Sony, BMG, CelineDion.com, Epic Records, Columbia Records, etc. are all businesses. Not to mention this event is a rare opportunity that I'm sure not many other fan clubs do. I know it's frustrating at times for the international fans. However, like I mentioned before in another post there are many things you international fans have got to see and do that us fans here in the US have not. We never got the D'elles television special. Heck, the album has yet to be officially released in this country. I'm sure once Celine starts touring again next year that many more opportunities will arise for the international fans.

 

I do agree, though, that CelineDion.com needs to be a bit more vocal about upcoming releases, single choices, DVD releases (or re-releases as could be the case for Live In Memphis). But, at the same time if CelineDion.com were to post things here on the forum fans would come here for all the news (as they do now, I know) instead of the official site. Therefore, the official site would lose traffic and could possibly be shut down. What I'd like to see are responses from CelineDion.com on the more important topics that the fans want to know about. Is the Live In Memphis DVD release fake news? Are there talks for anymore songs being added to A New Day... before the show ends? A possible sneak peak at some of the songs to be performed during the World Tour. Is the name of the next English album truly going to be The Woman In Me? Etc. I don't want everything on CDF to get a post from CelineDion.com, but a few a month wouldn't hurt.

 

On a side note, yes, I posted a comment earlier in this thread about coming up with a fake doctor's note saying that a person has a pacemaker and that's why the metal detector keeps beeping. However, I'd like to think that most people viewed that as a joke and never took it seriously. I've never once attempted (nor would I ever) to make any bootlegs of A New Day... The only thing I did that could possibly be considered "wrong" was throwing a stuffed frog up on stage for Celine. But, I'd like to think that's forgiveable.

 

In the end I sympathize with everybody that can't make it to the preview (I'm included in this). But, if you truly don't like what TeamCeline is doing (or not doing) I hope you send them a message via THEIR website. Posting here will get attention, yes, but sending it through the actual site will probably get a bit more - hopefully including a response.
