i think rené needs to be working it.. she should make an appearance! vma weekend is supposedly going to be huge here. i don't expect her to sing a song... but she can walk out with an elvis impersonator and present an award...whatever! just get her face on the show. no publicity is bad publicity even though she's not justin timberlake or beyoncé, she has a resident show in vegas - and it's the first time the awards are going to be held in Vegas, so I'm sure it's going to be all ~*viva las vegas*~. that makes her automatically relevant as far as i'm concerned

The Palms always attracted that "trendy" Hollywood crowd like Paris Hilton & Brittany Spears and Celine def does NOT fit in with them - she has real talent. MTV doesn't even play music anymore BUT Celine is a big name celebrity and she may come on there and do something cool - esp if Rene is behind it and Sony pushes for it.

 

Normally, I'd say "no way, Celine will not appear" but since she has a cd coming out around that time it may be good publicity for her to be on it. It would add some class to the show!

Normally I'd go along with the "not cool enough" thing too but it seems this is Celine's year and anything apparently is possible so you just never know.

I don't think, even if thousands of you fans here would post Celine's name in that vma threat, MTV won't invite her and the young teens in the audience wouln't welcome her either.

Celine, Annie, Madonna, Mariah, Whitney and Janet on a Vh1 Show would be far more suitable and interesting than Celine, Britney, Kelly C., Kelly R., Pink, Jennifer, Kathrine, etc.

Of course she could but does she really need to lower herself to make an appearance on this kiddy show? The are truly better places to appear on. I don't think the children and teens who watch the MTV VMAs would buy a Celine Album after they have watched her singing.

The only response if she would sing on that night would result in bad critics by the press. Let's face it, Celine doesn't fit in MTVs programm, only as a joke.

I would normally agree but it's about the shock value and buzz. It would be a wise move commercially to make ppl notice her new single. Remember Whitney was there in 2002? She is also a classy lady and sung there stoned as ish but still sang and ppl loved it (I liked it too). Céline han't ever performed on a cool show like this before and surely not when shlock RNB is the hottest thing out there.

Alexis Colby speaking, gogo! Céline won't ever be considered cool by the general public but the occasion and the very fact these awards are held in Las Vegas made me reconsider her appearance there. Just for buzz's sake, not even for commercial sales. Buzz buzz buzz!
