I think the single is great, even I do not understand a word of it!! But when I heard that she will be release an album in french and in englisch I hoped that the english one would be released earlier than the french one because her last CD was a BEST OF Album of french songs.

 

I think that it would have been a better choice first to get back the attention of a larger audience with an english hit and than an french album for an smaller amount of audience.

finally.... people who dont just thing this song is hooo-raaaay fantastic.... i think we have to recognise, as much as this song MAY be great for us.... it does have very very little radio presence...

 

still wondering why they'd release it as the first single...

 

hopefully there is a big bang 2nd single prior to the release of the album...

This is the first song that the fans (French speaking and otherwise) have been unanimous (almost) on the quality of a song for a long time.

 

Each day new fans are just hearing the song and posting how much they like it. There are only a handful that do not.

 

Fact is - its much stronger as a lead single than TLDO and I don't see a reason that it will not do well.

 

If a DJ has only listened to it once - he may have formed an opinion on that. The fact that the song changes half way into something else means its not as repetitive and makes it perhaps less memorable first listen.(for some people)

 

Where as if it were like the first half of the song repeated again and again building up to a climax (which may have been an alternative production idea in the studio) It would be instantly catchy but very formulaic and probably not get as much acclaim. This is catchy and memorable and leaves the listener screaming for more.

 

Fingers crosses it does well - its already getting picked up.

There will never be a hit as big as Pour que tu m'aimes encore for Celine. There wil not be such a hit for anybody for a very long time I think. That was a very special moment in the French music that only comes around rarely. Before that, it was only Charles Aznavour in his youth that had such a hit, so that was like 20 - 30 years before....And I don't think Celine will ever have a huge hit like PQTME or MHWGO, even if she makes the best music anybody has ever heard, just because people don't really buy good music anymore and because that time is over. I really don't care what the charts say, as long as she makes great music. Not that I don't want her to have a hit or I'm not glad when she does, but if she doesn't, it perfectly OK with me too.
