Seems like Sony is going for a soft launch. A few weeks of buzz coming from fans, then the commercial release, the single goes up the charts (no need to go to number 1 at this stage of Celine's career! but the higher the better!!!) and lastly, a few weeks before the album's release, there will be a new single out -- so before buying the album many people will already know (and love!!!) two singles!!! Does that make any sense?

I can't expressed how SHOCKED I am to have read this news today morning! A Polish fan got an email letter from RMF FM - Polish no.1 radio station that absolutely ADORES Céline. Needless to say they wrote him back that they HATE THE FREAKING SONG and even though being Céline's fans they are "very disappointed" of this song that is "worst in YEARS" and wait for "something better". They also said that Sony BMG didn't yet email them to play it yet so the song won't be played anytime soon YET. Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Anyhow it seems the song got fabulous reception from Céline's fans and it will do really well with the general audience but they have to release it to the radios in Europe which will happen sooner or later.

I know! Usually RMF absolutely adores Céline and plays all her songs and stuff but this email from the musical director of the radio station really baffeled me! He used such strong words OMG it's like he wouldn't have even listened to the song at all!

I've sent an email to SonyBMG here in brazil, but I haven't got an answer yet... As it's Carnival time I guess I'll have to wait at least up until Thursday.. Oh Gosh! It aches in me so much!!

That is none at all...

I agree that some people don't like it, but to say it's a bad song, you must be deaf. It's like saying you like Mozart, but you think Bach made horrible music You may not like Bach, but he sure made good music. It's the same here: you may not like it, but it doesn't mean it's a bad song.

I think the single is great, even I do not understand a word of it!! But when I heard that she will be release an album in french and in englisch I hoped that the english one would be released earlier than the french one because her last CD was a BEST OF Album of french songs.

 

I think that it would have been a better choice first to get back the attention of a larger audience with an english hit and than an french album for an smaller amount of audience.

They may actually BUT on the Sony BMG official site there is the info that SNRQ will be the promo single.

 

But in the email itself there was also said that they got NO info from Sony about the release of the single or the album. I'm sure as soon as the song is out they will play it and ppl will love it.

Well... first of all I have to say: siur, hold back, you are not telling the truth from that e-mai!! I'm on the same mailing list and I also read the mail from RMF music director and he doesn't say any word that he (or anyone else) hates the song or so!!! Please, don't tell the people here an untruth, ok??

 

He only said: "After the first listening of this new song I don't think it will gain too big success outside of Canada and France."

OK, he also said: "It's not the best song Celine has recorded in the past few years" and that he's disappointed with it BUT that's all!!! Nothing more than this!!!

 

So PLEASE!!! He just told his personal opinion (and it's ok, not everyone has to adore the song, right?) but he hasn't said anything about hating the song or that would be the worst song Celine has recorded (in the past years) etc. etc.!

 

I really hate it when people change the original message from someone else! It's like you would say: "I don't think it's a great song" and I would tell the others: "Siur hates the song" - that's not the same, right?

 

And as you said, he doen't have any infos from SonyBMG about the promotion or/and release of the single so far but I'm also sure they will play it and only than we will get to see weather the general public likes it or not...

that´s quite funny to read that, well quite illogical.

And what was his point of view for TLS and JNVOP ? Cause, yes... We can not like too much this song, but when comparing to the last single : Contre nature, JNVOP, TLS... It´s without any doubts and objectively a very good work (lyrically and musically). Anyone can say the contrary. And the worst, is that this song is certainly one of the most radio friendly single that she has proposed, fact that I don´t like too much but for a DJ, say that it hasn´t a commercial potential is just ridiculous.

finally.... people who dont just thing this song is hooo-raaaay fantastic.... i think we have to recognise, as much as this song MAY be great for us.... it does have very very little radio presence...

 

still wondering why they'd release it as the first single...
