Amazon.fr worked so fast for me everytime. I had troubles with amazon.com Guess it's all a matter of luck...

amazon.co.uk messed me about so I cancelled that order and ordered it through amazon.fr - received it in just over a week. The funny thing is that it was sent from Germany!

since the week after she performed with elvis the video was deleted from itunes

and now is back...

Does anyone know what song this is sampled from? The beginning of Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là) part with the english 'song' within the song? Ive always wondered this or is it just random english that matches the song?

I really don't have a clue, but I do remember Céline 'singing along' with the intro during the tour... so at least she knows the words!

 

 

I actually watched the making of D'elles yesterday and it made me fell in love with this song again It's really an amazing track, and D'elles is just full of well written songs and beautiful music... a shame we'll probably never gonna hear a song live from it (again)

 

It's a big shame though, that the clip of ESNRQ wasn't on the bonus dvd

Today I flipped through a book and stumbled on a poem of French author Victor Hugo. The last line of the poem called "Ultima Verba" published in 1853 is this:

 

Et s'il n'en reste qu'un, je serai celui-là!

 

Does this mean that Françoise Dorin who wrote the lyrics of the song, got inspired by this poem ?

 

I put the whole poem below. Basically, it is quite a patriotic poem, talking about a man who would do anything for his country (here, France of course).

Like, "whatever happens, I will stay faithful to my country, to freedom, even if people let me down, I will defend it and not back down. And if one man remains, I will be this man"

 

It was written against Napoléon III for his revolution in 1851. He was opposed to Napoleon III, and went to exile. He writes he will not to yield before Napoleon III and not go back to France while he is on the throne of France. He will indeed come back after Napoleon III's fall in 1870. His writings during this times were cendored in France.
