Today our source told us that Céline's new English album will be released at the end of 2007! René told this via a telephone interview to the Italian "Vouge" magazine which will be released on October 30th 2006 in Italy. He said that they will meet up with Céline's producer Vito Luprano at the beginning of November in Las Vegas to pick out the songs for this album and to specifiy the musical direction of this upcoming English album.

So there's not even a direction of this new album yet? Now I have serious doubts about the point of the whole release. Again it's as if no one other but Sony wanted her to release an English album just for the sake of making some money and not for the sake of having and recording good songs. Of course I sincerely *hope* that she will seriously consider some good really good stuff cuzz everybody knows if she pulls a "One Heart bis" she won't get far.

 

In my opinion she should go ahead and release a new English jazz album measured on Gladys Knight recent masterpiece "Before Me". Noow THAT would be a truthful winner - she wouldn't even need all that much time to record it but it would really help her gain some really credibility since I bet neither Vito nor Sony can help her build up her credibility, not after they have messed her up with ridiculous demands for ANDHC and OH.

 

I truly hope Céline delivers this time in English cuzz everybody will be looking at her with big eyes. BUT I have the feeling that she just may agree to record another English album for the sake of the contract with Sony...without much of afterthought. As soon as she will record it, she will forget about it and can concentrate on her marvelous new French album, something qwith essence. Ohhh, yes yes yes.

but this album can be very diverse cause u see different producers got different kind of music style that want Celine to record, so it's possible to get like jazz, soul, pop, popera and so on...

but Vito wants Celine to do another album like FIY though...

but it's all down to Celine to decide.

 

for me i would love an album with many different music styles, even hip hop will be ok too but not sure about rap though ahaa

Well, in my opinion all Vito wants is cash, nothing more. I would love to be proven wrong on that, believe me! He indeed said he wanted her to do a second FIY but let's say it's not possible at best. LOL Already after Phil Spector backed out of the project they had to take some songs from D'eux and fill the gaps in the album. Also their collaboration with Steinman was crumbling already. What producers do they have left? Max Martin? Kirsten Lundin? Um. Yes. It's just sad cuzz with her current producer team she is going down the drain.

thank you very much for this interesting piece of news. Well, Vito Luprano means for me an album like FIY or LTAL so a masterpiece and I'm very excited about it . BTW the magazine it's "Vogue" not "Vouge", isn't it?

Yes, monsieur. Vito was one of the two producers of IDAN. He is an excellent sound engeneer - it was him who helped producing the sound of D'eux.

celine will release her next english album because she loves to record songs in english - did u hear it?!?!? - she lovesssssssssss it...now just cut all the bull of her not caring about her english records and doing it just because she has to . she is not recording her english albums while thinking about her french career . actually if at all it's the other way around - she spends most of her time working on her english records and performing in ENGLISH - why is that?!?

if she doesnt care about her english records and love french much more , why is it that 95% of her performances r in english?how come she spends 99% of her time in the u.s.? why did she sign the vegas deal knowing she'll sing mainly in english and wont have time for her french career?

 

seb my dear , it's the other way around - she is working on her next english album and her french records r for her fans in those french speaking countries.

right now the most important thing for rene and celine is bringing her back to the charts in the u.s. and europ , the french record is just a bonus thing for fans like u

To me the fact that despite of the overwhelming success of her show and her English career she still wants to discover new ground and record in her native language shows more than ever she is interested in artistic credibility. It's understandable she continues to record in English but... for what price? I already see the Sony's comitee and Vito on top of that advising Céline just like they did to ANDHC, telling her how much the music market has changed and how much she needs to work with Timbaland to get to No.1 again. I can already see that coming. This is Sony's natural commercial thinking without having her core fan base in mind. No creative input from Céline is asked. None as it seems - of course I don't know for sure but mark my words, gogo, now. This may be another ANDHC for her. Another uninspired release just for the money.

Who says she doesn't like to sing in English? I never said that. Actually I see some of her fans have a hard time agreeing with Céline herself as she says she *prefers* to sing in French which then again doesn't mean she *dislikes* singing in English.

 

I go a little further than that by saying you can actually HEAR the difference between her preference of singing in French and "just singing" in English.

 

Now, Mathias, name me ONE reason why out of all, the new French CD will NOT be better than the new English album? Go on. I'm waiting. I can list you about 25 years of Céline's experience in singing in French and the quality she's been coherently putting out. Coherence is a word she seems to have forgotten ever since "Celine Dion" was released.

One reason? Sorry, I won't give you even one.. why? Simple: I can't & won't comment on that because we don't know what the English album will be like.. (same for the French one for that matter: we might have an idea, but that's all it is, an idea.) I'll judge when I've heard both and until that time, I'm enjoying the fact we will get both next year..

Mathias, do you seriously believe René went to Vito or any of Sony's managers and discussed the shape of Céline's next French album!? Do you seriously believe he went to them and asked them for their permission for asking 10 women to write lyrics and JJG to be producer again? Imagine how ridiculous that CD would have sounded! LOLZ Instead, yes, the conept of the album appeared during Céline's visit in Paris in October 2005. 10 women. 10 NOT songwriters have written lyrics for Céline's next French album and she's slated to record them sometime this year.

 

Sorry, but currently we already have the same scheme all over with her English CD: René going to meet Sony's officials and talk about how commercial it should get to sell. Just like they did with Tommy Mottola for FIY and LTAL, then ANDHC. Vito sorted the songs out, like now. I would LOVE to be wrong but it looks like the standard procedure. Standard. Old. Boring. Believe me, I will be the first one to rejoice if I see any sign of good direction for Céline: much like the sparkle of hope of Mr. Jurtas who MAY be included this time. Much like Céline's self written songs she mentioned in For Keeps but this standard procedure is not letting my hopes get high just yet.
