I find it's wrong to have no expectaions, Mathias. Of course it's a matter of choice but it's not like they all have to become true! I always say we are talking about Céline Dion here. THAT French-Canadian gal who can take songs to another level, in both French and English. I have no ground to have high expectations towards the next English release BUT I *want* *want* *WANT* really *want* to be positively surprised.

 

About your second statement: Of course they dicsussed it, Sony is her label as you said, but JJG also discusses his albums with Sony as much as Patricia Kaas, Alicia Keys and many others! Why is that they seem to have more coherence in their recordings than Céline in English? I dare to say cuzz Céline ALWAYS has been relying on Sony and its advisors and never had any idea how to structure her career in English. Where is she going? On one day she sings jazz, the other a ballad and then the other a dance track. Just like they tell her and she'sjust supposed to love it, right? She's in a vicous circle in my opinion and has little idea of what she wants to sing about. And she will have hard time pushing them to release HER own self-written songs. If at all.

I know you are, gogo, and I respect that even if I disagree. You can't negate someone else's taste cuzz it's just not your buisness. But think about how would it be possible to have another FIY and how high are the chances? And are you really fan of the songs of FIY (majority of them are covers) or just the voice?

Today our source told us that Céline's new English album will be released at the end of 2007! René told this via a telephone interview to the Italian "Vouge" magazine which will be released on October 30th 2006 in Italy. He said that they will meet up with Céline's producer Vito Luprano at the beginning of November in Las Vegas to pick out the songs for this album and to specifiy the musical direction of this upcoming English album.

I bet that "A new day..." will be their main part of promotion.. Céline will be all over American TV in December due to the last show and they will use this opportunity to promote the album..

 

But I've no idea about the rest of the world..

Wouldn't it be better to concentrate on the release of the DVD/BD witha great farewell Vegas special and "I Surrender" being released as the promo single?

 

It would be much better as to expect Céline's English team to come up with an interesting concept for her new English album.

The "end" of a certain year, doesn't necessarily mean the last month.. it could basically be between Oct - Nov.

 

Besides, (big) albums rarely get released in December.. it's too close to X-mas..

I'm sorry but can you imagine Céline NOW releasing two singles: French and English at the same time WITHOUT flopping on BITH sides? I can't. These ain't the 90's anymore and they risk a huge flop on both sides in French speaking countires and Europe.

Dear siur u know better than me that Celine will not sell that much anymore!pop music is dead i dont think it depends on the quality of the album she needs to do some crappy R&B and to shake her bottom to sell more but i dont want her to be like others.

Once again the french album will sell the same like 1f&4t and ONCP nothing special! but who cares..i just want new songs new videos and so on

You know what I mean. It's a commercial strategy to release an album before Christmas assuming it would sell better.

Celine's new album would be a nice present under the Christmas tree!

Yes, it will....but I'd rather think it will be released a bit sooner, because releasing an album at/around that date will be impossible..
