Stevo you coming from the UK telling us that TPOL wasn't a big hit? You underestimate Céline on this one as Alone wasn't that big in continental europe at all. I didn't know it before Céline for instance. So I say Alone for Europe to say at least.

 

And please Il Comandante has to take care of SlovakClark.

I'm speaking from my position- I didn't know The Power of Love was by Jennifer Rush- I heard it first (as far as I was aware) on TCOML album- my friends were disgusted when I told them that it wasn't a Celine song- they said they were very disappointed in Celine...IMO Celine's is a bigger it than the original.

 

My thing with Alone isn't really that it was successful- just that it's a cover. I love it. I love Heart's, I love Celine's. But when you've so many potential singles, why release a cover? That's all I mean.

I'm all with you but perhaps it will be her new hit. 20 years after the original. you never know, especially if she promotes it right.

 

And I'm VERY confused about so many ppl wanting "Eyes On Me" be a single - it would of course b a fine single but why go extreme pop again? She went pop with I'm Alive, One Heart etc - we're speaking about a winter single, something more than just a carefree song. It needs to be cosy and mysterious and fits the season.

 

Also wtf is wrong with TeamCeline again? Where are our 2 more damn preview files? My Love and Shadow Of Love? This was the time frame they posted them yesterday. They changed their mind apparently and are waiting for amazon.com to post their clips instead which will happen any day soon.

No no, no Alone for Europe, we don't want it here. Send it to the US where they don't play her anyway!

 

This will make her look really bad here in Sweden where she has had surprising support (they even play OH and YAI and CWS). To release Alone, will look as if Céline is trying to chase the tail of a d-list artist who has this summer already made it a hit here!

 

And for the Japanese version, I too am tempted to buy it, but why doesn't it have the bonus DVD?! I don't wanna buy a bunch of TC albums, coz baby that's not me...

Well I didn't even know about Heart's version of the Song even existed or that The Power of Love was sung by Jennifer Rush until I saw a vid on you tube the other day on Originals VS Covers. And I thought I knew a great deal about the music that came out in the 80s. Well I guess that I'm still learning. lol

Blasphemy Stevo. Just because you didn't know the songs before Celine covered them doesn't mean they weren't big hits. On the contrary. Both original version of the songs, ABM and TPOL, were bigger hits than Celine's versions. TPOL was a huge #1 in the UK. It was #1 for a few weeks (Celine peaked at #4). ABM was also huge in the USA reaching #2 back in 1976 (Celine only reached #4). And both songs were the "signature" or biggest hits for Eric Carmen and Jennifer Rush.

 

As for Alone, it was a huge hit but I wouldn't say i was Heart's signature song. "These Dreams" is considered by many, arguably, as Heart's signature song because it was their first #1 hit.

 

In any case, covers aren't popular at the anymore at radio... not like it used to be. They should keep Alone a non-single track because it is too much like what the "old" Celine would record: powerful bombastic sweeping ballad. If they REALLY want to keep going with a new image for Celine they HAVE to steer away from those ballads and release other tracks from the album that are more of a contrast to her older sound.

Does hmv Japan ship for Europe?

Yes, even to Romania . I ordered it too. If you're not sure, you can check the list of countries they deliver to on their Help page.

 

HMV will not overnight it as fast as amazon.co.jp

I think amazon.co.jp ships the items on the day of the release. On HMV they said "delivery date November 7". So they ship before release day, so one can have it on that day.

The down part is you don't know exactly how much shippment costs until they actually send it... Still, to me it seemed cheaper than on amazon.

^I don't think X has leaked yet. There has been a mix of a few album tracks, but that was official.

 

Loving EOM and Alone in HQ. Still aggree with most on here that Alone shouldn't be released. I'm excited about hearing New Dawn actually.

 

I'm on holiday on the 11th November so I'm kind hoping to be able to get TC on my iPod before I go. That would of course mean D/L. Which is what I had to do with D'Elles as I was on holiday when that was released also!! I have ordered the album so it will be waiting for me when I get back from Vegas.

However, I tend to agree with Steve there on TPOL. Was a huge hit before Céline??? Come on! Perhaps in the UK, but they make Westlife climb the charts over there, so I rest my case.

 

Now, no, of course not the old Céline should be presented in the next single and of course not Alone.

 

This Time should! It has the attitude to surprise people. And it is political, come on Céline, release it, you'll have plenty of time to do more "I love you so much"-songs!

Look at the News on CD.com sebby....they put a new news post up today (the 23rd) and made it sound like they posted ALONE and EYES ON ME today, and not last night..and also said we will only be getting one song per day..so we have to wait for tomorrow for MY LOVE

Nothing new (the two videos we already seen, samples of some of the songs) but the fact that she is actually being promoted (very silent though) in Sweden. They have put some energy into making this mini site for Taking Chances. But the wierd thing is that she is not listed on sonybmg.se even though it has a link to sonybmg.se on that mini site.

 

However scrolling down on sonybmg.se you can find under Kommande projekt (comming projects) that they are creating a Swedish website for Céline. It's too wierd... but good, I guess.

 

And on the mini TC site is a contest for people to win the deluxe ed of TC and D'Elles, the competition ends nov 18 - like all of the fans haven't already got the album by then! What you have to do to compete is answer what country Céline comes from (Canada,USA,France) and motivate which is the best Céline song throughout times.
