fred Posted October 4, 2007 at 12:22 PM Posted October 4, 2007 at 12:22 PM some news i found on Japan's Celine fan siteJapan's MTV channel has Bordcast Celine's new video the making of the album on 1st Oct!they will play it again on 3rd / 7th and 8th of oct!it just says new footage of Celine! since the news is from Japan i found a never seen before video of Celine singing TLYM with taro hakase on youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrCsiDiustci believe it was originally boardcast on 13th april 1997 in japan..and it looks like they recorded it in a studio just like OYOH dvd's HYEBIL and MHWGO! It's amazing they keep promoting her with this now 10 year old track even though she has produced much more stuff since then. Her hair looks extremely good in that clip. But I guess she's wearing that same plastic bag she later renovated for the Tout Pres Du Bonheur. But why is this performance so often lipped? Is it especially hard to do live? I mean it just seems as such a waste when she so often bring this guy in from Japan and just for a lipped performance... /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

celine5-5 Posted October 4, 2007 at 04:14 PM Posted October 4, 2007 at 04:14 PM So I definitely don't think that TC, the song, is going to be very successful. I mean, it's like #125 on the billboard chart, and quite honestly I haven't even heard it on the radio yet. I'm just as disappointed as everyone else is about the whole issue. But, I believe that another song will make the album a success. Personally, I think it will be Eyes On Me, or something else that's different from the typical Celine song, maybe Alone. I hope it has several (at least two) successful singles. They should definitely announce another single before the album comes out. So, according to what you know about the album so far, what song do you think will make everyone remember the album and truly be Celine's comeback? Quote
fred Posted October 4, 2007 at 04:26 PM Posted October 4, 2007 at 04:26 PM Since I haven't heard the album it is quite impossible to say, I could just go and name a track but that would be a bit foolish. And yea another single before the album comes out is needed, but since the video is still not out yet for TC, and the cd-single being released 2-3 weeks before the album I highly doubt a second single will be released, even if it would be the best thing, but then again which company are we talking about here? /fred Quote Peace and love to all.

firebird Posted October 5, 2007 at 08:43 AM Posted October 5, 2007 at 08:43 AM Having some competition (even if it's questionable whether some of those can be called "competition" at all) isn't that bad at all. Hopefully makes them put a little more effort into the album and its promotion. Quote

manu23 Posted October 5, 2007 at 11:37 AM Posted October 5, 2007 at 11:37 AM Britney's sold 83 million units and she's 25...impressiveThat's imposble. She sold 21 millions with her first and then about 12 with the second one and so on, so that's not true, maybe they count singles too, but only with albums 83 millions is not true Quote

Teodora Posted October 6, 2007 at 11:24 AM Posted October 6, 2007 at 11:24 AM I think we shouldn't hold on to her being number one or not. It's just silly, really. Even if she's not number one, she'll still sell more records over all. I mean Britney, Alicia or the Spice Girls can maybe sell a million records in one week, but after that, they're dead. By this time next year, Celine would have sold many, many millions of Taking Chances. She won't be number one, because she's not selling all her records at once, but, over all, she's selling more. Besides, her album is definetly the best. I'm sure Alicia has a great album too, I love her. But the rest... let's be real... And there's no way she can out do Britney in promotion. Bad publicity is better than no publicity and what's worse, bad publicity seems to be better than good publicity these days. It's sick. I mean, Alicia had a wonderful performance at the VMAs, but who cared? All the media cared about was Britney's being a mess on stage. Real talent and value are of no interest these days. So, even if Sony did everything right in terms of promotion, it would make no difference. In the sick world of today, people want to read about drama, drugs and so on, they don't seem to care about people like Celine and Alicia, with real talent and a good head on their shoulders. So let's not get stuck in "will she be number one". It's not worth it. That would be important if the world still had their values in the correct order. Quote

About Britney, i dont know how people still care about her material. i think she didnt give herself 100% to this record & if she will be #1 in the charts but what about the promotion. i dont think she will be in good shape to do some promotion with her attitude, if it will be like the MTV VMA performance. she didnt take it seriously & she will do the same with her album.no tv appearances means no promotion which might cause a flop I'm still baffled as to why Perez Hilton still haven't posted the full version of Taking Chances, I mean he posted the clip why not the full version? i still hope he will post the video + people mag + some tracks from the album upon its release Quote
