I didn't hear about it. I think it's a bit weird. what i heard was that she is fine at home resting. That was what a friend who was in vegas told me. I really dont think its something to worry about, maybe it was a misunderstanding.

That's the reason I was shocked no one here showed some love I mean I know not everyone is reading the French section of the forum, but the person quoted a trusted source saying that she has been hospitalized the day the virus spread. Hi Guys!

 

I was there when Fanny learned about the 'hospitalization' thing. I thought we had an agreement to keep it to ourselves because we did NOT know if it was true and we specifically didn't want a rumor such as this started.

 

It looks terrible and people start thinking negative. People, in any case, need to think positive and send her GOOD energy. Not worried energy. No matter how sick.

 

The information about the alleged hospitalization came from a Celine Dion Boutique employee who I had spoken to for the first time. He was very comfortable sharing the information, however I do not think it was accurate. When I asked who told him this he said "they" which didn't explain much, and which I don't take to mean it was a very reliable source.

 

No one else seemed to be under the impression that she was hospitalized and I know for a fact that she was certainly not in the hospital from day one of her sickness. The first cancelled show was on Saturday and I know that she was home just a day before I arrived in Vegas.

 

Everyone else that Fanny and I spoke to only mentioned (at the most) the Labyrinthitis and that she was very tired and needed to rest.

 

All other information that I've gathered from reading about Labyrinthitis says that the virus has to run its course and that sleeping is something that is very muh needed.

 

Celine has been prescribed antibiotics which treat the symptoms such as nausea and vomiting as well as the vertigo and others, but not that cure the sickness for 'real'. The virus itself, from my understanding, is something that cannot be treated, which is why in some cases it lasts so long, and the only thing that can be done is to rest.

 

News from the Dutchies says that the performers of "A New Day..." still don't know whether or not Celine will pefrorm for sure on Wednesday, and they will not know until Wednesday, either. It's based on doctors orders to rest AT LEAST 5 days and if she can perform, then she will.

 

So as you can see, all but one sign and one reference (of more than a few, actually) say that she is not hospitalized.

Hopefully Céline takes all time needed to recover from the virus and does not feel pressured to get back to performing while she is not entirely well.

Hi guys! I m really sorry about that stupid rumor. I mentionned it to a friend and she had the good idea to write it here LOL. But I read somewhere else that a fan who was in Vegas last week was told the same about the hospitalization... I wonder where they heard that. i truely hope that celine is not under pressure to attend the celebrations for her 500th show...knowing celine she is depressed right now realizing how many people already bought tickets and made all the way to vegas for nothing but as much as my heart goes out to those people - i hope celine wont come back anytime soon cause the only thing i care about is her health and nothing should bring her back unless her doctors r 100% sure she overcame this .

Well.... the Dutchies are back..

 

Unfortunately, it was a really really bad holiday. To make a long story short: the day after we arrived we heard about the cancellation news.. we were really devastated. Especially the ones who hadn't seen the show before.. Later that week, we decided to extend our holiday till Thursday (27th), we got word our plane tickets could be switched. We also already bought show tickets for the Wednesday show (26th). We were really afraid if the Wed. show would be cancelled too, but at least we still had a chance.. But then lightning struck: Sunday, just after midnight, we got a phonecall with some terrible news: all flights to Holland were absolutely full (until May 2nd). We certainly never expected that. So we immediately had to pack our bags and only had about 2-3 hours to sleep....

 

It was just a week of hell.. Fortunately we had a great time (sans Celine), so at least it's something.. Also, Céline is recovering slowly, and now they're looking at her conditition at a day-to-day basis (she's taking anti-biotics). Oh and she wasn't taken to hospital, because she didn't want to. Anyway, I feel so sorry for her and I really hope she recovers soon!

All things happen for a reason. I don't think Celine will perform Wednesday...so I hope you'll be able to feel that this somehow worked out more to your advantage in a teeny tiny way.

With this website you can imagine what she is going through. I think this website is more directed at what the treatments are and what you're looking at going through than drawing on about the possibilities of hearing loss, and other worst-case scenarios.

 

If anyone else has a worry or an information that they'd like to share or get cleared up, post the article that you got the information from and let people discuss it.

 

But try to be down-to-earth. She's gonna' get better.... she just needs to take her time. And certainly, if you're going to post comments abouthow sick she is, don't 'freak out' and still, try to be as positive as you can! She needs prayers and GREAT energy sent her way.

We know from celinedion.com and the AEG live press release from 2005 that it won't be finished until "the end of 2007" so May would be totally incaccurate. I would take anything an employee of the Colosseum says with a pinch of salt. They are well meaning but we know from experience that they know little more than we do and more often than not the information given out is wrong.
