Stuart2007 Posted January 10, 2014 at 01:27 AM Posted January 10, 2014 at 01:27 AM Hey people I know this probably is not the right place to discuss such a serious topic but I really have to get this off my chest cause its driving me up the wall. At the weekend I watched a documentary on CNN about the gay men and woman in Uganda. This is one of the countries in this messed up world where gay people can get life behind bars just because of their sexuality. The fact that was happening in Uganda didn't surprise me much, one of the reasons for the Ugandan crackdown on homosexuality did.Several people interviewed mentioned how this government crackdown had become far worse after a group of American Evangelicals had visited the country to warn them of the dangers of homosexuality to the Ugandan people, a government spokesman also confirmed this visit had taken place and that the new laws were to protect the children of the nation. As you can imagine this so called religious group have been spouting the exact same filth that they have been getting away with the U.S. They are basically trying to portray gay people as people who are trying to convert young kids to their evil ways. Now the American public are not stupid and have rejected this propoganda thankfully. Yet I've seen on tv how not much is being done to stop these Evangelical's from holding up banners saying "kill all gays". I don't personally think thats any of my business, if the American gay community isn't willing or is not able to stand up to these hate preachers then that their own business. The fact that they are being allowed to preach their hate in other countries is far more dangerous and must be taken serious 2

I mean, not only gay people but all people who are different in some way are being rejected from society in most countries. Unfortunately, Bulgaria is no exception. Everything/everyone who is concidered different is also concidered bad/dangerous. This is wrong but, sadly, too many people still think it's actually right. 2 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
reamary Posted January 10, 2014 at 08:44 PM Posted January 10, 2014 at 08:44 PM Man I miss being in Canada!!! I want to go back there so bad!! Especially Ottawa, oh... Talking about the weather, it's a really strange and unusual winter in Finland too, we're almost in the mid January, and we still haven't had ANY snow at any point, and it hasn't even dropped below zero!!! I'm starting to lose faith and starting to fear that this winter we won't see any snow at all..! Which would be the first time ever. I miss snow too! reamary Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:15 AM Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:15 AM remarry I wish celine would wear this dress for MHWGO, for her paris show Actually she did! That photo is from November 26th and that's the dress she wore for My Heart Will Go On. Ottawa has been very cold and has had a lot if snow from what I hear. You may not have wanted to have been there in the winter. I know, and that's part of what makes me want to be there even more! The Canadian winter was one thing I wanted to experience, I LOVE cold and snow! I mean I know it has been below -20 but that's what I love about winter. I'm weird I know, I don't know anybody else who loves those cold temperatures like I do... That's why I'm really miserable that we're having this black and warm winter here in Finland this year. http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o419/reamary/1338b390-8604-432c-8a00-e8e1052a92ba.jpgHELSINKI 9.6.2008 - PARIS 26.11.2013 - PARIS 28.6.2016 - STOCKHOLM 17.6.2017 !

sfbaysinger Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:15 PM Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:15 PM I was born in a very religious family who totally does not support gay/lesbian people. I Do. I Have To. I saw a friend come out and it was pure Hell for h im, plus it has happened to people here. "hate preachers" is a great term for them. In my opinion, this is a Perfect place to discuss this kind of thing, as I just found out that a close of friend opposes gay/lesbian and thinks they are wrong/sick. I don't know if I can continue being friends with this person. She claims her culture taught her this, and that she is not going to stray from it. And while I do believe in sticking by true values, Anything based on fear Cannot possibly be a value. There's a time to, at the very least, challenge the stereotypes we were raised with. How else is the world going to change? No, one person cannot do it alone, but it takes All of us. Anyway...my rant over! For now lol 1 L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! Bell Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:55 PM Posted January 11, 2014 at 05:55 PM Let me once again cite what Christina said. 'Challenge the stereotypes we were raised with'. Interesting...and true. It reminded me of something I'm working on. Let's say...a short novel (or something). So one of the characters, an experienced man, once says to a younger woman 'The truth is, we live in a world gone all wrong... And we are forced to question our humanity in order to keep it', regarding war (my story is set during WW2). Our current discussion made me think and realise that the situation (sadly) hasn't actually changed that much. We still live in a world gone all wrong... 2 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

There´s a brazilian song from 70's (a reflexion about the contestatory movements at that time) that says "we´re still the same and we still live like our parents". IMO, problem is we see the bodies with the eyes instead of "seeing" the souls with our hearts. 1 Team Céline Dion Brazil@lu_celinefan
