I've been thinking about 2013...

I remember when I was 20 I thought, OMG the year 2000 seems so far away...

And life has gone super fast after I reached 25. But I'm happy, my 20s was a pretty tumultous era for me, but heck I did learn a lot. I don't feel 38 now, but I'm comfortable with my age and don't mind getting old.

People aren't getting old, Luis, they're just getting more experienced as time goes by. If you learn from your mistakes and try not to make them again, you're a lucky one. I'm 25 now and feeling a lot better than before, a lot more confident in myself. I'm starting to believe that things do get 'better in time' because one really gets more and more comfortable with oneself by the years. You get to know yourself better and start to respect and appreciate yourself, and it helps you live in harmony with the others as well. And, yes, time flies, sometimes it goes faster than we wish but we have to learn to believe that it's always for better.

I agree with your post... completely.

But I do get old, believe me.

Age is just a number, it's important to keep your spirit young.

Yes, that's right. A friend and I were walking down the street the other day and she told me: you must be the only 30+ person in town who is so comfortable in the streets with your cherry lollipop and seem to be enjoying it a lot.

I replied: do I care what the others think?

That's also why I was thinking that I am more experienced now, of course, but the way I act and laugh and do things is pretty much the same as I did 20 years ago.

So, do I care what the others think? :giggle:

That's actually something I had to learn. I used to be such a perfectionist in a very extreme way, but I tended to do things to please others. I was a fool. :lmao:

BTW, many people here in Bulgaria care what the others think...too much. I'd like to live for myself, not for the others. So when someone asks me 'What would the others think about this?' and I say 'I don't care', people sure find it strange.

People in Costa Rica also care too much about that...

And they're so gossipy OMG...

I tended to do things to please others.

I do this only for some special people but I'm a perfectionist myself in another way. Whatever I do, I'm never fully pleased with it 'cause I always know that I could have done it even better. Too much self-criticism, I guess.

Now, the only thing that will make me happier is quitting smoking.

But this time I won't say if I do or don't because I say, hey I'm trying, and then a few days later I go back. Grrrrrr

But you're trying which is a good thing.

Let's see what happens...

I LOVE Mark Twain, but if he were here, I'd kick his butt for either a) not knowing that it's super difficult or b ) not saying it directly.

Now I have a stupid question that I hope you can answer for me

I'm changing the fridge tomorrow, so they will be removing the old one, but I have several things inside that I don't want to go to waste. I have a separate freezer, but will not put everything there because some of it will be ruined. I was thinking of putting the hams, butter and other things in a huge sealed freezing bag, and leave it outside so that the cold of the atmosphere protects it. Is that really a dumb idea?
