What is more humiliating then getting to the cash at Archambault, buying Sans attendre and my debit card doesn't work ? I could already see myself having to put everything back ! At least it worked when my mother showed up but it wasn't fun !

Thank you so much Zoe. I really don't know what to say. About Céline, I feel exactly the same way. I mean, she's the only ''thing'' that doesn't change in our lives. I am definetly not going to be the one who's going to judge you !

For S, thanks. We talked again today for like 10-15 min (a record !) and it went well. I didn't tell her what I have been planning to tell her, that I'm ther for her and all but I'm sure it will come in the next few days or weeks... It's a weird relationship I find but that's the way it is. I know that she does a lot for me that I'm not even aware of. Thanks Zoe. There are a lot of people who judge me for that friendship because she's considered weird because of her goth style and her french accent (she is French). People hate it, I'm about the only one who likes her (she doesn't like many people either, to be honest...). Anyway. Thank you so much Zoe. I really appreciate all the advice you've been giving me.

You're more than welcome hunnie...I can't judge anyone (and shouldn't) about who they speak to/befriend/etc... It's your life to live not mine...I actually think having a friend who speaks french is cool (my friend doesn't have the accent but he's still cool)

 

I now need to learn french even more as I watched the youtube video interviews from the Sans Attendre special and wish I knew what they were saying so I could laugh along like the audience did

I agree with both of you...if we were all the same and liked the same songs Céline wouldn't make an album with different styles on it! I personally love the album but I'm not overly keen on a song from it (Ne Me Quitte Pas)...other fans love this song and I love songs they don't...what's wrong with being different as long as we respect each other???

Like Adi and many others, I feel that this discussions board has transformed itself into a cult of some kind, where only the 'All Hail Celine!' ones are allowed to speak their minds. If there is any ounce of negativity or criticism in any of our posts, the anti-negativity brigade jumps in with their schizophrenic posts and convolute the meaning of our posts from the originally intended . I dread their posts and to a certain extent, I dread them as well, which is why, it's better to avoid it. I do check in on the forum and do go through certain posts and of course, post here every now and then, but it seems the feeling of one close-knit celine forum is not there anymore. Those were the days when we could agree, disagree and be neutral all at the same time without being harsh and overtly sentimental. On top of that, certain members forget that this is an online forum to express our views. Some of them don't know what sarcasm is and ought to check out the meaning of a 'joke' or a sarcastic post. Also, not to forget the 'ignore' button.

 

Until some sort of a major overhaul is done, I think a lot of people are either going to flock away or avoid the forum. Although there is an abundance of Celine-related news currently, I doubt we're having the same amount of activity that we previously had. If we do, I'm glad but if not, it's Vic and Bellamy's utmost duty to really figure out what's causing all of these. They and the moderators really need to sort it out and also, figure out how to bring the crowd back here.

 

Surely the old days aren't gonna come back, but at least try to salvage the amount of damage done.

 

One last thing: It seems the old formula of banning or suspending a member's account without informing the members and not bothering to give a reason is still going on here. I hope this changes soon. The 'Forum Announcements' section should be used for that also, as many of us may have been friends or acquaintances of those members.

And at the heart of it all is love/peace, strength/hope/faith. We will not all like the same songs, but I kinda feel that we have a bit of a reputation that we, including myself, could do better to uphold. I think Celine fans are known/thought of to be kind/caring/generous/thoughtful people, we should be that way most with ourselves And each other. What should underly it all is that we Love her, in different ways, to different degrees, for different reasons. We experience her differently, connect with her to different depths, it's all okay As Long as we come back to love. "Love is all we need" right? "Where is the love?" "If it is enough to love."

Anyway, I'm getting off my soap box & off the pulpit, I need to hear this just as much as anyone...

And I agree with a lot of you the forum has become a little hostile, it's one of the reasons I don't post here that often anymore. If I don't like a song/don't like Céline's voice on a certain performance, I'll just keep it to myself and I'm fine with that. I don't want to be negative, so if I am, I'll just skip the song or don't watch the performance again. But then again, I think I'm not half as much fan as a lot of people here, and I can imagine if you are a very big fan, Céline's 'choices' could be dissappointing. People should be able to give their opinion if they don't like something, but people should also be able to give their opinion if they love everything Céline does. That's their opinion just as much.

 

But I won't go into it anymore, because I don't think it'll make the atmosphere on this board very nicer. Peace and love people

Having a hard time at home... My father is afraid that he might lose his job so he got very, very nervous and started arguing with my mother and me literally for nothing. We've been going through this for a couple of weeks and I can't stand it anymore... I feel like leaving home...but I can't afford it right now... Nasty situation... I try to understand how he feels but I don't think he realises that he is hurting us with this behaviour. We are not to blame but he acts like we are responsible for his troubles.

I'm exactly the same...I don't give anyone grief for their choices and I AVOID any arguements if I can...but I also stick my nose in if there's something I think needs to be said in cases of bullying, nastiness, etc...

I think Dhruv and Lian make good points. I am someone who doesn't like negativity, but I believe everyone has the right to an opinion. I would never jump all over somebody because they don't like a song or performance. If we all thought the same way, the world wouldn't be interesting, right? Well done Dhruv, it's so good to see that people are standing up to the way this forum is being mismanaged lately. It's like you can't say boo to a goose anymore without getting attacked or blocked. I don't want to be constantly criticising but I care about the place too much to see it fail it's members in this way. There are still many of us here who want to know when Javito is going to be finally allowed to post again, together with an explanation given for the reason this extreme action was carried out.

 

Why is it that so many members are beginning to see this forum becoming a dictatorship because of the actions of yourselves and a certain fraction of the moderators?
