But all you are is mean

All you are is mean and a liar and pathetic and alone in life

And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

But someday I'll be living in a big old city

And all you're ever gonna be is mean, yeah

J-man, I'm envy for you right now. I want to go to digging the ground too but ~70 cm layer of snow is making it challenging and with frost it is quite hard also.

And Davey, there is so many Primulas, you have to like some of them. But I have to admit that P. Vulgaris-group (Danova-cultivars?) are not my favourites either.

Do we have a garden topic somewhere here? Or is there anybody else who can or likes to speak flower.

I think their rules on contests etc are different then other parts of Canada. So by having different rules it does exclude them from certain contests. I may be wrong, but wuite sure someone told me it's because of something like this.

You totally lost me Daniel but I think that I know what you mean... Yes, things are sometimes a bit different because of the language but it's not really a problem most of the time....

I'm sorry that I lost you Roxanne :( I think Del pretty much explains it to me :).

82 in my chem exam. crappy note! :/

I take it that it 82 out of 100? If so, that pretty good :)

Dhruv---I miss talking with you every day. You're exactly right. The forum has really gone in a strange direction. It's all Topsy turvy.

Christina---you should never think that anyone despises you on here. You're a great, caring member. A model citizen. Don't change.

For me, since Vegas 2011 it seems that there has been a banal reformation here. I hope there's a renaissance on the horizon.

Glad you felt better, Bobby. I had one few hours back and had to darken the entire room with no lights on and switch off my phone as well cos my head was pounding even with the tiniest light there was

Thanks! ^_^

Sorry my niece but it is the furthest thing from "lame" that I gave Loretta Lynn roses. I'm sorry to inform you that it's called being thoughtful, for crying out loud the woman was hospitalized for pneumonia the day we were originally supposed to see her. Our plan all along had been to take Loretta roses, the gesture meant more to me after everything that happened before this show. This is coming from an 18 year old who posts nothing but vulgar language on her Facebook or pictures of her flipping the camera off or smoking weed. Yeah cause that gives you the authority to call anything 'lame'. Get back to me when you can say you gave roses to a living legend who shaped country music and then we will talk. kthanksbye.

Dhruv, Alex, aw thank you guys. I hope I am a model citizen but I also know that I am a die hard. I can be scary like the fans it sounds like you don't want.

Katie, Daniel, I have been a fan forever but got here too late. It sounds like the problems happened shortly before or maybe a teensy bit after I got here. I just want to be here to promote the love of Celine with whomever shares it.

:D

Amanda...giving roses to someone so amazing and talented is soooooooooo not lame. I also got to see her but never got to meet her. After everything she has endured, you had even more of a blessing in what you did. we will never know sometimes what our actions do, and even though she probably gets a lot of them, I bet your gift made a lasting impression/impact onm her and touched her deeply. Don't ever be ashamed of that. :)

We are all die hard fans Christina. Don't be worried about being that. :flowers:

Its just that for me personally, that doesn't mean I can't criticise when Celine (or more often, her team) do things that are either poor career choices or just frustrate me as a believer in her abilities. I don't think many people ever complain about her on a personal level, it's just people have such faith in what she can do and then when they see what they perceive as lazy decisions being taken they get annoyed.

Sometimes they make bad career decisions, and we as loyal fans have the right to both criticise or defend those decisions, depending on our own educated opinions.

The first thing I come to the forum for is to get info on Celine, the second is to have a laugh. And if we can mix the two, then that's when the forum is at its best.

The problem I have with some fans is that they get immediately defensive as if she and those around her have been given Papal Infallibility by God or something. Take for instance lip synching in shows. It annoys the hell out of me when it's over-used live and when she does it on tv shows. I think she needs to be more confidant about singing live on TV like she used to be, but while I don't believe that it is right for a fan to start posting YouTube videos highlighting this fact for the whole world to see, I think that it's equally annoying when people refuse point blank to accept that she does it.

I also don't agree with the way some people here have in the past became mini celebrities of the forum themselves. There will always be popular members, that's okay. But not to the level of adulation we have experienced. It all went a bit far there for a while and I'm glad to see that seems to have calmed down a bit now. Though there are still a lot of big ego's on here. But I guess we all have a bit of Diva in us.

I agree with John.

What upsets me here is that some members here try to bring down the members who are criticizing her career choices and the missteps that her teams seems to love to falter to every now and then. Those members have put Celine on such a high pedestal that it seems so difficult for them to realize that Celine is just a human. No one is attacking her on a personal level. We may joke a little about her or Rene or whoever, but that's just it - a joke and nothing more or nothing less. We love her and her music. The faith that she can do better than what mediocrity she has been churning out for years is the very reason why we want her to get out and unleash her potential. The lack of interest from her side (yes, we know she has a family to take care of and her priorities changed) is what's making people frustrated and the pop music world lose their interest in her.

Also, the locking down threads, deleting posts and banning members without giving adequate reason is just getting weird. This didn't happen before. Or at least, that I know of since my time here. This is a forum. We are here to discuss, be it positive or negative. If one can't handle the negatives, then don't bother reading it. But do keep in mind that the ones who are 'complaining' are also the ones who'll jump with joy when she does something exceptional (Remember how nicely surprised we were with her performance of 'In Some Small Way' or 'Summertime'?). But we are also there to mock her and be frustrated with her when all she does is frolick around and scream like a banshee with weird dance moves (2004 WMA performance). She is way better than that.

Lipping is a sensitive issue. If one thinks that the discussions that we had here regarding Celine's lipping is too much, then I guess they've never been to other DIVA forums. Trust me, it's way crazier over there. Funny thing is, just cos Celine seems to be polite and docile, certain members think that the fans ought to be like her. Oh, hell no! I'll be the biggest DIVA b!tc# if necessary.

Ultimately, there is a certain reason why it is a 'Discussions Board' and not just a 'Say Hallelujah to everything Ms. Dion does' board.

And OMD @ that pic of Jolie. I just spit out my sandwich :sofunny:

And about the forum, yes, after the premiere the forum changed drastically. And not in a good way for me anyway.

Maybe I had high expectations, but actually meeting some of the forum members was a let down for me and that translated itself on the forum.

Also a lot of new (young) members on the forum lately makes me think I'm getting to old for this s***. Of course it's freaking awesome that new generations

still become fan of her, but I don't want to explain that Your Light or Just Walk Away aren't that rare songs... etc etc... I've been there done that.

But I guess most of all, the humor is gone. People get offended, don't get it, get personal... not nessecary at all! But then again, that's the way of responding in Western culture is heading for years now...

I do hope the new albums will bring back some joy and laughter on the forum!!! But I don't have high hopes... :P

WTF Dhruv?? U, indecent??? They don't know the meaning of the word! :whistling:

And I agree with what you said.... I don't like the locking and hiding of threads! Especially when there isn't a notice why where and when! Like you said this is a discussion board, so we should have discussions! If you don't like them, don't participate!

:sofunny: at that picture John!! Am I the only one that gets annoyed by the fuss her stupid ugly white leg created!?!? :fouet:

Especially when we had this all along

That's true, the Primula family is very big, Primula rosea or Primula sieboldii are quit nice!

No we don't have a garden topic yet! That's a good idea for a topic! You should start one!

Davey, I've had the same feelings, wondering if I'm getting too old for this. Sure, we don't spend as much time here as we used to, but we are getting older and we do have lives outside of this place. I'm just thankful for the friends that I have made from here. I guess not all is lost.

Well, since we're all sharing our views of the forum and Céline, I thought I'd put in my two cents. First of all, I want to say that I tend not to "complain" because I don't see the point of criticizing. Not for any of you, of course - you can criticize all you want. It's not my place to tell you what you can and can't say. I mean that I don't see the point for myself. As a new fan, I want to enjoy all the great things that Céline has to offer and just accept things I may not be satisfied with. One reason I have this view is because I suffer from anxiety, and I have obsessive negative thoughts running around my head constantly, all hours of the day. Céline fandom is an escape for me. Also, being a new fan, some things that upset and disappoint the rest of you don't upset and disappoint me. A good example is the lack of news about the new albums - for me, every album is new!! :giggle:

I realize this is a forum and we will have some heated discussions. That's why, when I post my opinion, I try to be as respectful as I can. Someone said a long time ago that there's a difference between attacking the post and attacking the poster. I disagree with a lot of things here, but you won't ever see a post from me that says, "OMG what is wrong with you for thinking that you're so stupid!!!! Why don't you just leave the forum!!!" I believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion.

In regards to the lipping issue, I agree, that is a very controversial topic. It's not that I don't accept that it happens, it just doesn't bother me. I don't want to dwell on it.

Davey, I understand your frustration with the new/younger fans, but I'm one of them, so that makes me feel a little strange. Please know that it really can be confusing here for newer fans. I don't know what half the abbreviations for the songs stand for, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. :P Sometimes I honestly feel intimidated by this place, and feel like i don't belong here at all. I think I might need to leave for a while, until I'm a more "seasoned" fan.

I also want to tell you all that I am glad we are talking about this. I feel like this is how a forum should be, with real, honest-to-goodness DISCUSSIONS, not arguments and drama. I can't remember who brought this up - was it Alex? Whoever it was, thank you. :)

Yeah that's the difference between old and new fans... we as old fans were spoiled rotten in the 90's cos each year there was a new album! the 00's weren't even that bad actually.... but now I can't believe TC is 4,5 years old already :jawdrop: Let alone LTAL (the first album that came out of me becoming a fan) 14,5 years old, facking hell it's making me feel ancient! :lmao:

But yeah what i meant is, that nowadays new fans can find whatever they want to know online, wiki, fan sites etc... So that's why i can't really stand stupid questions :giggle: Sometimes I still have to think about the abbrevation, but if you don't know where TPOL, PQTME, IACBTMN or MHWGO stand for, then you're not allowed to call yourself a fan just yet! No you shouldn't leave the forum! You should share your 'discoveries' like maybe listening to the Unison album for the first time... That could give us older fans also a new outlook on the album...

I guess that's what I have been missing lately.... actually talking about Céline and her songs.... not about the Vegas show, the wrong decisions in her career, the F she held in that song, the line she lipped in this song, the ring she wore that day... etc etc... but more the basics... How great the Celine Dion album actually is, how awesome she looked in TTWII video... things like that, that I miss
