"I'm only going say this once. I don't care what people's reason's is for meeting Celine and I sure as hell don't care why Curtis' got to meet her again. The point is he got his chance and as some people pointed out, he saw quite a bit of her when she was here. Not only did he get to meet her, but he attended her soundcheck at Montecasino. I don't know who is to blame, be it Celine herself or the people organizing the M&Gs, but it is totally unfair to some of her other fans. Everybody deserves a chance to meet her. So why do certain people get invited over and over again? Curtis is not the only fan that flew halfway across the world to see her. Loads of fans do that numerous times. I am also sick of certain people or fan groups that think that they have some claim over Celine (and I'm not only talking about the RH's, there are some individuals here on this forum that think that they have the right to meet her for whatever reason). While I was in Vegas in March, I had no idea what was going on behind closed doors and only read about it afterwards. I could not believe it. Some of us flew halfway across the world and spent a shitload of money to see Celine and we had the oppertunity to at least attend a soundcheck, but no, certain people had to take that from us. I am not jealous and I sure as hell will survive even if I never get a chance to meet her, I am simply stating my opinion.

Another thing that is starting to tick me off is this thing that a certain group of members is always on a certain bandwagon like that person is some kind of saint. Geez people, give your own opinion for a change.

I am sorry for going off topic and I'm pretty sure that my post is going to tick some people off, but that is fine, I just had to get this off my chest, been building up for a while now.

It's a touchy subject, because we can never place value on fans, of course each fan deserves to meet Celine and have as many opportunities as the next one. But she has so many fans and so many of them are willing to travel to see her from so far (that's such a testament to her international star power!) that of course, they can't all meet her. It's sad, yes. She would just be swamped. I know you know this Claudette, I'm just typing what I'm thinking as it comes to me.

Have you heard Curtis' story? From what I gather, you don't really care (not saying that in a a mean way, but you said that above) but since we were talking about him in the thread, he has an amazing story that was mostly just great luck. Celine sought him out time and time again. So yes he may have gotten to hang out around her a few times in SA, but it was Celine's wish that he do so. Who would refuse that and say oh I just met you so I'll decline? he couldn't have offered another fan in his place bc she only invited him because she wanted HIM. Any fan would do the same as he did.

I wish all of you knew the story behind the RH soundcheck. I think a lot of you would have different opinions unfortunately. Not going to go into that again but it wasn't like "the superstars of Celine" get into the soundcheck. Everyone was invited and yes, it was turned down unfortunately months before it happened.

I really hope you weren't referring to me in any way in that post I would love to meet Celine just as much as any of you, and I could have called in favors or used connections so many times and probably already have met her by now 10 times over but I won't. I refuse to beg to meet Celine. Whether you're talking about me or not, any opportunity I've been given I have worked very hard for and anyone else here could have done it too. I have let it happen and let them see my love for her and come to me with opportunities. Let your love for Celine shine as bright as you feel it and people can't help but notice your heart. I would never ask to meet her or to go to a soundcheck or anything.I show my love and sometimes I get invited. It's all about motives. Curtis didn't ask for any of this, other people didn't ask for M&G, some did, but sometimes you just have to be invited and that sucks for everyone else. There are so many things that a lot of fans have to keep secret because of things like this- other ppl get so jealous (not you, Claudette, I know your not jealous, but there's a ton of jealousy out there) and nasty that you just can't even share some of your best moments for fear of getting bashed on. What can you do?

Anyways, I adore you Claudette, I know you believe what you feel and that's your opinion, but I hate for fans to hurt over someone else's good fortune with Celine.

Please don't give Claudette any disrespect as she's a very level-headed great fan and I've adored her and her posts for years. I agree with Claudette 100%. Not once has she gone overboard on anything. Things aren't treated fairly (especially the soundcheck deal, but that's in the past)

And what's more, you always throw the word "jealousy" into your posts when someone disagrees with you. It has to do with fairness and not jealousy.

Ya , I miss the old forum too! too bad alot of members dont come here anymore I miss all the action when Celine was doing world tour, now nobody wrtites reviews of any of her concerts hardly? i thought there would be loads of fan reviews during Vegas ?? , you know in comparison to the discussions and reviews during A New Day and Taking Chances ....

I should have been loading and unloading the dishwasher but for some reason, my mother is doing it. Probably because I'm not fast enough... Oh well. I actually managed to start reading Céline: au-delà de l'image. It really an amazing book and with the story of the guy, it makes us appreciate the pictures more. I'm happy. I love being here!

I'd have to agree with this post. I know there are times (okay, to be fair, lots of times) that I may (or may not) have come across as rude, rough, abrasive or harsh, but all of my posts have come from the artistic passion I have inside. I have found it so very frustrating to see Celine's own material get thrown to the side to make way for songs that have been given the limelight time and time again by many artists for years and years. Case in point, Corey Hart's "Miles To Go (Before I Sleep)" and "Prayer" are two songs that have, for the most part, been tossed to the side to make way for mediocre covers of songs such as "Overjoyed" and a (continuously lipped) "I Wish." Then there is the hidden gem, "Then You Look At Me," which was written by the same two very talented gentlemen who created "My Heart Will Go On." Those two artists are Will Jennings and James Horner. It has become very aggravating and exasperating to see Celine's career, in a way, thrown away to make way for the "easy route."

Also, I know I have responded sternly to members in response to their opinions and beliefs. I have never done this with malice, but only to help learn a different point of view or to help spark discussion further in depth so as to help a topic continue to grow instead of "die." I only wish "select members" on CDF would learn how to take a moment, step back from a discussion and THINK about what another member has said instead of automatically going into "attack mode" or "going on the defense." Not every constructive comment or criticism is an attack or a negative view on someone. Sometimes those comments and critiques are created to help an individual, group or situation grow into the best it/they could be.

After all, I believe the line, "my love, we have seen it all...," really rings true to the history and future of what has come to be the Celine Dion Forum.

And there's plenty of jealousy. I never said Claudette was jealous, but there's plenty of it. And there's no reason for it. None at all. Jealousy in general, not about me particularly.

I stated all of that in my post though so I don't know why you would even bring that up.

I've always treated all of you fairly and I always will. Actions speak louder than words!

Unfortunately all we have are petty words here.

I feel that there has been a lot of different opinions on here, but the way I look at it is that all mentioned in the above posts is not going to solve anything. I feel that we should be the Celine fans that we have always been and let by gones be bygones. How broken would Celine's heart be if she were to come on here and instead of of us praising her and having her in our hearts like we all started out to be, lets make up and all be friends again. If someone has anything negative to say to another person please do it in a personal message; for everyone takes one side or another and then it turns into a free for all. I had an incident in March that mad me sad, but I have learned to deal with it. If God wants me to meet Celine, then it will happen. Until then I've resolved myself to enjoy all the Music Celine has given us and I look forward to seeing more of those babies. :yes:
