We all knew it was coming when we saw that PATHETIC excuse for a video for the song. All we can do is just support her and hopefully everything will turn out okay. We've waited 6 months for the next US single, and they give us Alone It's an excellent song, but it's not single worthy. I was hoping for Fade Away as the next single. It's young, fresh, and would be a guarenteed Top 10 hit for Celine, which is what the album desperatly needs. It's sad that Skankney Spears has 3 singles and albums out already, and Celine's album *just* got it's 2nd single in the US. Sony, you guys suck! As long as Sony sends the song to Top 40 stations, I'm sure they will play it. I have 3 friends who do not like Celine nor her music, but everytime I play the Taking Chances CD the only song that they want to hear on the CD over and over again is Alone. Even if Sony does not send the song to Top 40 stations, it is sure to be # 1 on AC Stations.

Regardless of the song being an excellent or poor choice, I am not surprised it was selected. I also think the song as a single is very suitable on the radio. I understand everyone's frustrations, but seriously, with such a colossal career that Celine has, I really do not think her front is too worried about the single choices. There needs to be some diligence and market savviness, but since Celine's career is so successful, the focus on things and priorities does shift...

Can you just imagine if Shadow of love or Fade Away would have hit radio, and people actaully heard that she could sing something other than MHWGO?! John Doelp, Senior VP of A&R at Columbia, didn't even want to listen to Chuck Taylor at the Final Night in Vegas, back in December, as our friend Chuck reported. We have absolutely no power in decisions like these. The only power we have is to choose to not support Columbia and Céline's team choices: Céline's fanbase is surely the main source of money for them. To the ones who think "Alone" would be a hit on AC radio stations, look how miserably it is doing on Canadian AC radio stations, and how miserably flopped on European radio stations. There is not one hope in hell that this song will do better than Taking Chances. It's a cover for crying out loud and people will not distinctly remember it as her own. It's a great song for AC radio, but this was supposed to be Celine's "comeback." My father who doesn't listen to any English music watched her perform it on Oprah and turned to me and said "that's not her song." This album has already lost enough momentum since November and now it's near extinction. Terrible, terrible news.

What does the sticker on the cover of the album say? We all know the third single will be EOM.
