Thank you so much - this is great! To my knowledge, this is the only time she's publicly discussed the false allegations against Rene (and how horrible that time was for them). At first, they couldn't say anything because of court orders, and after that, they never mentioned it.   Julie Snyder interviews are so good because she tends to actually ask different questions than the standard ones.

I'm amazed that when you ask her, she can tell you anything on why she recorded that song etc.
Such a shame she isn't talking much about her songs, and especially performing them when she claims to love it.

Agreed! I've noticed that she talks so much more in depth in her French interviews.
She keeps things more surface level and generic in her English interviews.
Back in 2007, I would've LOVED to hear more about why she recorded Right Next To The Right One.
It's wonderful to know that she stood up for that song, and she finds it to be the "gem" of the entire Taking Chances album.
I just had to wait until 2021 to find this out. :giggle:

Sometimes, not always. In a lot of French-speaking interviews she doesn't change her accent so fiercely. Seems selectively done.
