Remember when they had her re-record lipped songs prior to the release of TCWT dvd?

They’d have to do the same again for future DVDs wouldn’t they? Is this why we haven’t had anymoooore?

Probably that with a combination of lack of demand, wanting to KEEP concert and ticket demand, accessibility of full concerts on YouTube and lack of caring/wanting to do so

I mean, I’ve wondered if that’s the reason as well, but other artists are still releasing -and presumably still selling out their shows.

Yeah - Celine just doesn't seem to like using social media. Not everyone does. It doesn't matter that she's a singer, or in the public eye, or anything else. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't like it. She sells out her shows and makes plenty of money without being on social media. I know she's always said her life is an open book but we know that to not be the case these days. Maybe something changed when Rene died. Maybe she doesn't want to let everyone in like she used to do. Parading around in high fashion during a pandemic would seem gauche. She may not want to be photographed not all done up with hair and makeup because then people will say how awful she looks. Who knows?

And we all know Sony doesn't care about Celine these days. She barely releases albums - I don't see them having a reason to put any effort into her social media. Perhaps the fact that she got sick and didn't do publicity for Courage angered the execs at Sony. There are a billion reasons as to why we're not seeing social media posts. But one reason I can guarantee you is this: she doesn't want to release social media posts. If she did, she would do it herself or find someone else to do it for her. It's clearly not a priority.

I feel like a lot of the artists who do so are either ones who still make them and their record company significant amounts of money through their musical releases or other ventures, or, in the case of those remaining, are people who own the rights to their songs... since Celine is neither I think they both play a major role in said decision to release live material, as not only could it affect her ability to tour (whether that’s due to people being satisfied by a live release, a possible exposure of her lip synching, or, forcing her to do new things, to avoid repeating a $10 digital copy, which we know they don’t like to do), as well as having SO many financial set backs due to it not being profitable, not being in demand, her having to pay to use the rights of every song she uses, her own versions or not, and knowing for a fact she’d never make back even CLOSE to the production and distribution costs of a release, I just don’t see it unless it’s in a documentary format or a tie in to something else right now... especially  with a new residency and a tour to finish.

You're point is perfect..but if I like to change something it would be that Celine doesn't manage her social media as far as we all know. Her Team, supposedly includes old-er people.
It is a common sense type of stuff that at least for social medias keep younger people. The lazy team of Celine is all to be blame for the inactivity. I don't think Celine has a problem with being more active. The team doesn't have better ideas to show in front of Celine.

That's why you would use streaming platforms. They have a built in audience and thus can take on some of the risk. AppleTV would probably have accepted a Celine lockdown mini-concert (unplugged too), and if she was worried about ticket demand she could have song new sogs or songs that she barely has ever performed or even covers.

It's called searching for solutions and not problems.

I was always confused about that. What happened exactly? Celine recorded the footage of the concert first then after recorded new vocals? Or she recorded special lip tracks just for the concerts in Boston/Montreal?

I find that too often her audio engineers messed up her voice in post-production.

If I remember correctly she recorded new vocals a few months after the tour ended. So many of the songs in Boston used the Vegas vocals and as they’d already been released on the AND DVD she had to record new vocals so people wouldn’t notice the difference.

To know the difference between the dvd dubbed and the as is enhanced version like A New Day (disc 2) is the song “My Love (Live version) that can be seen in My Love Collection. It sounded natural close to the sound you are hearing in person. No over edited autotuned dubbing. That’s why they should just done that natural sound like they did in A New Day and from My Love Collection

Womp womp. I do wonder what her vocal coach tells her about vocal rest and everything. Since she's had a few vocal incidents in her career, I wonder if she's worried about really hurting her voice again. But like, why not just do a few live shows whenever and then record those and sweeten them up in post-production if you need to?

Celine can’t actually sing the songs live all the way through. If she’s dubbing over an already recorded video, she can sing a few lines at a time and then take a break. Same as if in a recording studio. That’s why she can still record crazy hard vocals for albums but can’t replicate them on the stage.

She rerecorded the vocals for songs (I believe only for those that were lipped, including MHWGO, Eyes on Me, IDAN, hits medleys, etc.).

I seem to remember a lot of anger about it at that time. Then it seems a lot of people forgot, including me. I think that's a big reason why they were such narcs about cell phone footage in the second Vegas residency. Eventually they relented

Have you seen her performance back in 2011 i think? Chinese New Year where she sang two songs. In chinese and My Heart Will Go On (A New Day version) - you can see that it’s obvious that she’s lipping because of the way she lips it. It doesn’t match anymore compared to Taking Chances Tour or A New Day era where she looks like she’s really singing it.

Where were these 2018/2019 performances?

I think Celine thinks the diehard fans won't care or that the general audience won't notice at the concert....because the entire ear/auditory/listening/sound experience is way different in a stadium or theatre.

This one of the best, if not the best tour ever! The center stage, the songs, the atmosphere... She was top shape and you could hear her songs pretty much everywhere....
