What a completely surreal moment for Celine.  Growing up in Quebec, Idolizing Michael Jackson as so many others did around the world... Rene promising her to be on the same label as her idol, MJ.  Attaining that dream... having that idol respect her music and as an artist... and then she is coming full circle, paying tribute to MJ and his untimely death.  I'm sure it will be an emotional evening for her.  I'd love to see the rehearsals for this!

I understand what you mean Pyb.  I sure hope she will be able to sing parts of the lyrics at some point though.  

I was just wondering tonight what part of that song they could be singing exactly   There are not that many words in that song.  If Michael sings parts or all of the lyrics,  will the others be kind of doing the ahh ah ooh ooh  ahhhh and "what about us?" like back up singers would do?    I don't seem to be able to find and visualize how they will be able to share it any other way than by singing all at the same time like backups.   What do you think?
One of you has an idea as how they will do it and be able to share it?

I can see her singing the first part, but really i have no idea how they gonna do this, they are with six if michael sings all of it, so yeah maybe they are just backup haha

In my opinion it will be a one grey lens pair of glasses. The show will feature lot of right to left motion to use the Pulfrich effect.

I don't think Micheal's voice will be a part of this, not in a dominnt way at least.

Someone said that Celine is coming out of retirement i really dont think thats the case... Believe me the Grammys producers contacted Celine with a offer to pay tribute to Micheal Jackson and she and Rene couldnt refuse the oppertunity, i really dont think she could have turned it down she was obviously honored to be asked to do this. She also knows that this will be one of the BIGGEST Grammy Moments in History. And GRAMMY is the highest honor for musicans..Im sorry i just think EVEN of Celine was pregnant i CANT see her turning this down.
They Could have asked Whitney or Mariah but they asked Celine. I Truly even believe this is going to be one of CELINE'S Highlight of her carrer

Well I really hope she'll sing the last part of the song the "What about ...?" With her That's Just The woman... voice like PYB said. And she would be perfect for that part. I'm sure they will give her the best part of the song! It's Celine Dion! On stage she will be the most respected artist... And either MJ won't be heard the whole song or she will blend her voice with his.

I don't see her singing only the "What about us?" with everybody...

I agree, completely. But then again, I think the music industry really values Celine's talent and influence, despite what dissenters say. You're right, though. They asked her to sing. That's something in itself.

I really have high hopes for this tribute.  For one, the Grammys are THE big awards show for music.  Thus, they must pay tribute to Michael Jackson.  It's expected.  They owe it to him.  And they have had more time than any other awards show to prepare for a proper tribute.  So I have very high expectations.

And I agree that it is an honor for Celine to be asked to tribute.  She is THE big name of all of those involved within his tribute.  The others are so young - and Celine is an icon.  

I agree that is performance has the potential to be one of the highlights of her career.  I know that she is going to take this very seriously and put those titanium vocal chords to spectacular use!
