I can def hear Usher doing the high "oohhhh"'s with MJ, along with a few MJ moves!!!
Can't wait to see Celine again. She always delivers at shows like these. At least with her singing alongside others it gives her the chance to blow them ALL away!!!!! Like Miss Aretha!!!

Just because for one ''everyone'' on the planet will be watching this, and the other and main reason is because I don't want them to mess up her earphones or mic again, but hopefully they have learned there lesson from last time!
I'm another that disagrees with this completely. I would much rather see a real, live performance where everything goes wrong than a flawless miming. Celine's last Grammy performance, with all the microphone and ear monitor problems, was one of my proudest moments as a fan. She handled it like a champ, and her performance was outstanding.

Here's a T-shirt you may find entertaining.
Yeah, I think it's beyond excessive, too. This is the reality of our tabloid-media-driven culture. I'm just glad Celine has been so much more successful at navigating stardom than MJ and so many other.
That said, I do think the Grammy Awards really *is* the appropriate place for a tribute, and I'm excited for it.

Couldn't have said it better myself, yes its sad that he died and left his children behind without a father but I do not like the man, or his music, I never have, never will and I too am BEYOND sick and tired of all the memorials and tributes and junk for him. I don't get why people all the sudden jump on the band wagon about loving him either now that he's dead. My best friend who in the ENTIRE like thirteen years I've known her has NEVER mentioned Michael Jackson's music let along liking it. Then suddenly when he dies she claims she was "in love" with him and he was "amazing" and she "loved" his music. I've never heard her listen to a Michael Jackson song ever and she doesn't have a single song on her computer of his, she owns no cds, no Michael Jackson anything yet she claims she was in love with the man and he was the best singer ever

I'm one of them who liked him a lot, even before his death!
I have 3 albums of MJ. I believe he was one of the greatest entertainer of all time, after Celine.
I never believed he touched a single child.
He was a private person, and the media and press didn't like that at all.
In revenge, they built up an enormous nasty reputation of Micheal. This way, they were able to sell their fake stories!!
The grammy 2009 (February) didn't get to pay a tribute to Michael since he died 5 months later. Its more than normal that they do this year!!
Come on!!

And I agree that it is an honor for Celine to be asked to tribute. She is THE big name of all of those involved within his tribute. The others are so young - and Celine is an icon.
I agree that is performance has the potential to be one of the highlights of her career. I know that she is going to take this very seriously and put those titanium vocal chords to spectacular use!
If she does good, PEOPLE will always remember it as CELINES tribute to Micheal.
Like i said eariler, they could have asked so many others Like Whitney or Mariah (2 close personal friends of micheal) but they producers of the Grammys asked CELINE! I beleive even if she was pregnant she still would have accepted this tribute.
I have no doubt that she will always remember this moment in her career..
She has already paved her way so much that when (GOD FORBID) Celine passes there will also be a HUGE tribute for her At MUSIC BIGGEST night "The Grammys"

Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are planning a massive 25th anniversary re-recording of "We Are the World."
The timing couldn't be better, sadly enough.
The duo is summoning lots and lots of talent from Grammy weekend to stay an extra night - Monday Feb. 1 - and come to the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. There, they will celebrate a quarter century since Ken Kragen, Richie and Michael Jackson organized the original "We Are the World" with Jones.
This time the artists invited include Usher, Natalie Cole, and John Legend. But you can bet that more names will be added shortly and that all the Grammy nominees and participants will be asked to come as well. Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich will produce the event, which will then be turned into a video and single just like it was in 1985. Don't be surprised if Wyclef Jean joins in, along with Sting, Fergie, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake and other distinctive voices.
It's hoped that as in 1985, everyone will "leave their egos at the door."
Originally, this anniversary celebration was to be held on Jan. 28. But when the Haiti earthquake happened, sources tell me, the whole deal changed. Now proceeds will go to Haiti relief. In 1985, "We Are the World," which begat Live Aid, raised money for Africa relief.
Plans are still sketchy, but one thing's for sure: In some way, the song's co-author Michael Jackson will be invoked. AEG is co-producing this event. They're also putting together a 3D tribute to Michael for the Grammy show from elements Jackson was going to use for his tour. Jackson recorded "We Are the World" for what became "This Is It." Surely he'll be included here as well, which will make the whole project even more poignant.

ok, once and for all, what they call 3D only means CGI background with pseudo depth effect. There's no such thing as 3D when you're seeing a live performance, and there's no 3D screen available at the moment on the market for the consumer.
Ya, people at home can't see it in 3D, but I guess the live audience will... So we'll get all the celebrities wearing really un-cool 3D glasses?!
Actually people at home can see it in 3D they're distributing 3D glasses for free at Target stores in North America.

Not to make this into a gloomy topic...but since you mentioned it...I'm now curious as to what stars would pay tribute to Celine?
hmmmm...Maybe Kelly Clarkson?

Well, let's hope Céline will be a part of WATW-2. I would faint if only she gets involved in one of the biggest song projects of the past century, re-recorded of course, but still memorable. Wouldn't it be cool?
Thanks for the info Bruno!

Yes we are all aware its not a competition - but i'm sure most of us want Celine to shine alongside the other performers. And to quote Gloria Estefan (another singer i love) "Celine, you're not gonna blow me away are you?" - or words to that effect.

I think if you're in Europe and you have a dish/satellite you should be able to watch it, too.
