I read a thing where Rene mentioned the possibility of some shows in Vegas while she's pregnant, if she gets pregnant...does anyone else think that's not a good idea? Because with shows would come some inevitable stress, which is not good when you're pregnant, and she already needs a break...this is confusing.

I don't hope she will return to Las Vegas again. Why? Because then we have to wait more than ..years again before she will tour and visit my country again!
Las Vegas is far too far for me. And if I am honest I love her on stage when she tours. Just Celine and the band and maybe some dancers is enough for me.
Look at Madonna she is still going on. She Tours much more and she is still a great performer ( her shows are amazing).
I really hope that a new album won't take more then 5 years or even more and when she would come again to tour the world I really hope the people love her as much as they do now. Because if she goes to Vegas again  people will eventually forget her..I fear
If she tours the world over about 5 years I would be pleased and I will certainly go to her show no matter how much it costs!

OMG so much has been said since I last visited this topic (about 8 pages ago!)

I really like the idea of her returning to Vegas, especially the 75 show a year part! I hope she dosen't do anymore than 3 years though, as that desert air might damage her voice again and make her all nasally...  

This plan is great as it allows her to have a decent break like 2000-2002, to have another baby and to rest her voice after what will be 6 years of night after night singing!


I hope the new show will be more uptempo, sexy and exotic. I know that many people are tired of hearing those same old ballad playbacks (TPOL, IACBTMN, TLYM, IDAL, MHWGO etc), but after her break she might be able to record some new playback tracks for the hard songs like TPOL so it won't sound 15 years old , or even sing some sort of live upbeat medley of TPOL, ITACBTM, TLYM and IDAN. I still think MHWGO should be kept in the new tracklist as it is a very important career song and people who go to see her will still want to hear her sing it I'm sure!

The rest of the songs however I think should be uptempo songs (probably from ANDHC & OH), and some rarer tracks from the 90s. I also think they should include some songs from the tour that worked very well EOM, ABM and FA. Oh, and RDMH of course.

Something they could do to make Celine more connected with the audience is to have 2 or 3 songs where the audience has to vote which track they want her to sing. They could have those little keypads with A, B, C & D on in every seat in the Colusseum and have the song options on the big LED screen for you to choose from. That would be fantastic as it will make it very fun and exciting as they could have a different choice of songs every night.

I also hope the stage will be cool too! I really like the overall size of the AND stage, but I'd love to see a big arm straching out ino the audience like there is on the tour. That way she will be much closer and intimate with the fans! Also they could put those Titanic ralings at the end of it like with the LTAL tour for the last bit of MHWGO...

Sorry if I'm getting carried away but this is what I'd love to see if she does do Vegas again!

I was unable to attend Vegas so far and finally was able to save up enough money for plan trip and hotel tickets and then it was over. So I am going to see how many concerts I can go too.

It makes me sick that it's always the US that gets a special treatment (in terms of concerts and Vegas being in the US). What if I can't affored flying back and fort to see her?! I pray to all the gods out there she doesn't do the long Vegas run like EVER again.

Me too! only difference is that i was underage (12-17), and couldn't really flea off to Vegas by myself lol. in 2010, I'll be 20... and if she's there for more than a year ii could go when i'm 21 lol, AND that'll be my last year of college! lol I actually might have a good job to pay for it or, i could ask for it as a graduation present

Even one concert would be fine; and they should let as many people in he concert, it should be outside; filling the streets of Vegas, she should just sit on something high, where we could all look up at her; and take requests from us to sing songs, with only a guitar and a piano.

Think of the beauty in that .. I would die!

I never got a chance to see her in Vegas either! I'll be 16 in 2010 so I could always go in school holidays with my dad if he is flying to Las Vegas or somewhere if I'm really lucky!

Just to let you know so you can plan ahead if Vegas '10 really does end up coming true is that not all hotels mandate the person staying there be 21.  The majority of them do, however hotels such as Treasure Island allow those between 18-20 to check in to their hotel.  However, they must be notified of this prior to arrival.  All that will happen is there will be a lock on your account so no alcoholic beverages can be ordered and delivered via room service.

Why would she not come back to Vegas? Her playback tapes are all stored well in those Taking Chances World Tour trucks and the money of the Caesar's CEOs is just broiling to be transferred onto Rene's bank account in Switzerland. Success guaranteed.

I hope she does go back to Vegas - I never got to see the show (though I'm about 3 1/2 hours away from Vegas) and I still haven't forgiven myself. And in a few months I'll be moving to Vegas, so it'll be kind of hard not to go see her when/if she does go back.

Reading some posts here I get the feeling some fans think she's going to go back to Vegas to what she has left behind.  I think(I know René said so many times) that it wouldn't be a permanent show that's for sure(been there done that already), it's not going to be the same because they could never repeat ever AND show the way she did it for five years. Doing a show that long, won't be repeated I don't think  in the near future.  I guess she will perform in Vegas like any other artists does these days having some dates here and there for a limited time.  Anyway we'll see what the future brings.  I guess it all depends if she's getting pregnant or not in 2009.  I so wish she will get blessed another time and have another child...a little sister for RCl would be nice.

In conclusion I feel the same as you JP on this, what ever makes Céline happy makes me happy.

Well still couldn't do it last time, but i'll keep that in mind if everything unfolds the way i'm hoping. but i do want it to be a special experience, i don't drink any alcohol, but i do want to stay in one of the more... famous hotels.

I don't think I would like her to do a new vegas show if it's as demanding as "A new day" was. Something like 30 shows a year would awesome, but I would certainly prefer a new cd every now and then, and being followed by a world tour.

Celine set for 2010 return to Caesars

Mega-successful Canadian superstar singer Celine Dion is coming home to headline at Caesars Palace. Vegas DeLuxe got an unofficial but solidly reliable confirmation that she will resume alternating performances with singers Bette Midler and Cher after Sir Elton John winds up his current contract. There’s even a good possibility that to welcome her back to the Colosseum at Caesars, there will be a one-night-only concert featuring all three divas on the same stage at the same time!

But first 40-year-old Celine, who has a home out at Lake Las Vegas, wants to try for a new baby. She told talk show host Oprah Winfrey that once her current world tour ends in just five months time -- next March -- she and husband Rene Angelil will attempt fertility treatments again. She became pregnant in 2000 after six years of trying.

“I would love to be blessed again,” Celine said. “Hopefully we are pregnant and are parents again, but if not that’s fine, too, because we already have a beautiful child.”

They are the proud parents of little Rene Charles, who is almost 8 years old. Celine admitted to Oprah that not once yet has Rene Charles had his hair cut. “He’s succeeding in school, doing well, so the long hair is fine with me. He doesn’t want me to cut it. He’s a great human being. I prefer that he has long hair rather than a kid with short hair who is selfish, is a brat and not happy.”

In the meantime, Celine is once again battling a respiratory virus that is wreaking havoc with her throat. The nasty infection spread to her nasal passages, too. She’s on antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and other medicines but has still had to cancel tour shows in Minneapolis and last night again in Chicago. Minneapolis is rescheduled for Feb. 5, and Chicago’s United Center show is reset for Dec. 16. She’s hoping that with three days of rest, she can resume the tour in Ottawa on Friday night.

Says husband-manager Rene: “Celine doesn’t like to disappoint her fans and is more upset than they are. She will need a long rest after this yearlong world tour.

“We’ll see if we are fortunate to be blessed with another baby -- and then we’ll set a specific date for a Vegas return. But it will not be a long show run like before or the touring as in the past. This time we would do several weeks in a run, and then alternate to let the others continue their shows while Celine has her break in the schedule.”
