Id like a different concept from AND maybe even not any of her songs. Like a completely new show and an album gets produced with new songs specifically for the show.......wonder....would anyone go?

I'd love Celine to do a show for the fans with album tracks and stuff that we all love that were not singles. Celine never does anything like that. She should do a couple of French ones (Canada, France) and a couple of English US/UK/Europe or something and play album tracks and reworked versions of singles. It wouldnt need to be anything spectacular. Intimite just Celine, the band and her voice. She could do acoustic versions of big ballads / upbeat numbers. A wee bit like Celine Dion unplugged. We could hear some of her favourite songs that were never released. Imagine, hearing If We Could Start Over........

This kind of thing would get attention from the media and would probably sell well. Celine needs no gimmicks just her voice, a mic and a chair.  Even if the show was in an arena with the full band mixed with a bit of acoustic it would be awesome.

"A New Day..." was literally the most wonderful title imaginable for Celine's Vegas show.
Originally, the title was supposed to be "Muse." Thank God for that potential lawsuit, that made them decide not to use "Muse."

Let's be real here: the title for Celine's next show is not a wishlist for fans. Somewhere out there, in a year or so, there will be someone paid $1000 an hour to come up with the name of the new show. LOL

I hope it's gonna be something that will make me say, "Yeah, that's IT!"

If Celine does go back to Vegas, it cannot be anything like she has done in the past. It has to be totally different, maybe a more intimate setting, not so theatrical as i feel this took the focus off Celine. It needs to be more Celine orientated. She should sing songs that she has hardly ever sung live.maybe the audience numbers should be smaller, so that people feel closer to her.

Thats true also, she needs to do more promotion work, going on radio and television shows to promote her new music.She needs to get back in touch with her fans as it feels like she has been away too long.

I'm affraid this is not going to happen soon...  I don't think it is very likely that her fee will drop enough to perform in a small theatre.  Yes, you have several small theatres overhere.  In Belgium alone you have some of the best theatres you can image (in the meaning of audio) but the capacity is just way to small to get a decent revenue out of those shows.  Let's take the new theatre at the Sportpaleis for example.  It's called the "Lotto Arena" is has a seating capacity just above 3.000 people (7.500 with people standing in the middle).  Let's say tickets would cost about 150 EUR avarage.  This give you about 450.000 EUR (705.000 USD) from ticketsales.  From this amount you have to withdraw you costs: rental of the theatre, publicity, ticketsales, catering, hotel, transportation (air and ground), the rental of the music installation, LED screens, security, stewards, stagehands, assistants, etc...  And than you haven't paid your artist yet...  And ofcourse the organisator would like some profit to...

This is one of the mainreasons why concerts of rather big artists are always booked in larger places with capacities of above 10.000 people (preffered multiple times this capacity) if you want a decent revenue out of your show...

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Céline in a place like the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Forest National in Brussels or the Capitool in Ghent. But it isn't very likely that it will going to happen within the first 10 years...


And yes, some more French songs would be nice... Maybe in her next Vegas show?

I love the idea of Céline going back to Vegas but hopefully it's something totally different from what we've seen in A New Day...

- I hope there will be more room for improvisation, for her to be spontanious and for interaction with the audience...
- I also hope there's room to invite special guests to sing with her on stage
- I hope they will chose songs that will display her variety as an artist and that will showcase her talent over the entire range of her voice. To me it's not nescessary to perform 12 ballads with just the high notes. I want them to show the audience what I've seen over the years, she can do so much more than just sing ballads and love songs.
- Lots of colour
- I loved the visuality of the LED screen and the dancers in A New Day... so I would love to see that again.
- I hope someone else will direct the show, not Franco, to get something totally fresh and new

I'd love that to but also this is very unlikely...  Like i've written in another thread previously there are only a very few places arround the world where something like this can work...  Actually there is at this moment only 1 place in the whole world where it can be done for a longer period of time.  And yes, that place is called Las Vegas...  Within a few years there will be probably a second place on earth were this can also be done.  That place is called Macau in China.  Macau is than also nearly is copy of Las Vegas and is booming at this moment.  New hotels (subsidiaries from hotels in Las Vegas) are being build in Macau.  The biggest casino worldwide has been build recently in Macau.  The Macau Ventian is a copy of the Venetian in Vegas but on a larger scale.

The reason why Las Vegas (or Macau in the future) are the single places on earth were this is possible is rather easy to explain.  Las Vegas is actually the largest "entertainment city" in the world.  More specific it's one of the few entertainment cities worldwide.  Vegas as something for everyone from youngsters to the elderly.  The day that Las Vegas was nothing more than gambling and cheap sex are way behind us and now you can easily visit Vegas with the whole family.  It's also rather easy to reach by plane and has some good connections with airports worldwide.  Rooms in hotels have prices below average and also food and drinks are "rather" cheap in Vegas...  

You can easily fill some days in Vegas when you visit the city for a show, there is plenty of things to do and also the Grand Canyon is not that far away to visit.  Near all decent hotels have there own "resort" with multiple swimmingpools and accomodations for children.  A couple of days in Vegas will fly by in no time at all.  And the weather is splendid (maybe a bit to hot, but a lot of sun during the whole year).

But let's say you move the show to Paris for example.  Paris has also some things to offer.  The Eiffel tower, the Louvre, a boat trip on the river Seine, a visit to the Sacré Coeur, a walk on the Champs-Élysées, etc...  Let's talk about the weather for instance...  Lovely weather in Paris, especially when you are lucky in July, August and September...  But chances for rain are always there during summertime.  Let's talk a bit about the lovely hotels in Paris.  Hotels in Paris are either extremly expensive or have very small rooms with limited accomodations.  Forget also the resorts because there aren't any...  Maybe in some more expensive hotels you have a small swimmingpool inside.  Kids and Paris is also not a good combination.  There's a lot to see in Paris but just not enough for kids.  And Eurodisney is also not as close by as you would think.

Brussels perhaps?  No... Let's forget about Brussels...

London maybe?  Hmm...  London is also similar to Paris.  A lot to see but hotels are either expensive or small.  Also the weather ain't to good in England.

Let's cross the ocean and see what's available arround the world...  Tokyo?  No, Tokyo is also not an option.  Melbourne?  No, let's forget about Australia...  Shangai?  Don't let me laugh...  Moskou?  Please not in Russia...  Kaapstad?  Nope, also not an option...  I can continue for hours I think   Fact is that the examples are all lovely cities in great countries but none have the needs for a show that extends over a couple of years.  Even in the US not a single city (except for Vegas) has the right requirements...


Fact is that there are just to few places on earth were a show can extend multiple years producing a good revenue...

I would love to see a En tout Intimité tour from Céline! Stijn, I agree with the fact that it would cost so freaking much, but then again, maybe for once rené shouldn't be such a money wolf and just think about the artistic side!!! Imagine céline performing in the Olympia again! or yeah Vorst Nationaal (saw Lara there) AND they can film this tour, release a cd and dvd and make loads of money on that

True, I'm sure she pays those genius'  enough money to name her things, let's just hope the person who comes with the name and concept of the new show is not the same person who named "The Versatile Water Bottle"

It doesn't such a good idea to go back to Vegas. I think she really needs a break now (needed a small one even before the tour) and for many fans Vegas is such an unreachable destination. Besides - AND was nice, a second one I'm not sure will be as good.
Really, i don't think it's a good idea.
The perfect thing for me would be a break and then a small tour (not as flashy as TC though).

Apart from one or two shows as a part of a tour, I think she should be done with Vegas. It was an absolutely magnificent success and she's left a markt here forever. She bowed out in PERFECTION and going back would ruin it.

I haven't heard anything confirmed yet. Right? Nothing is officially confirmed. I don't think I want her in Vegas again. I mean, I totally loved the show there, and the city, the feeling, everything was just amazing. But there are a few reasons I don't want her to go there again: too expensive for me to go there; I'm pretty sure the second time around would not be as successful and she'd be repeating herself; I want to see other cities than Vegas, and I couldn't cause I'd have to save all my money for that    ; I don't want her to turn into a Vegas performer. Before you say "oh, but she already is": no, she's not. I don't want her to be that guy that's been singing there for a thousand years... what's his name... the guy with a strange face and million plastic surgeries that old ladies like.... Wayne something... you know who.
Besides, she's preparing to have a second child, and if that works out, she'll became pregnant sometime in early 2009, which means she'll deliver late 2009, early 2010. I'm sure she wouldn't go do a show with a baby only a few months old, it's not her style.... like she said once "When I sit on my eggs, I sit on my eggs!"

Well...I missed her in vegas completely! and i hate myself for that. I just started liking her this year and I couldn't go to vegas in time. So I would really want to see her back at ceasers. Although i never got to see AND i dont think i would like her to return to Vegas...i don't think it would be great for her to be repeating herself in that way. I would rather she took a break to do whatever she wants to do....rest her voice for a bit. Then she could come back with an amazing new album   and a really amazing tour like the TC tour . I'll love whatever she does (and unless I either win the lottery, or she comes to Australia, I probably won't get to see it).

But I'd love a very intimate, personal and acoustic show. More "Céline" than LED screens and dancers. I loved AND, and thought it was beautiful, but I don't want another one, at least, nothing the same. They'd have to change it drastically to really fit the style of TC.

I'd really, really love an acoustic show. Even if it's just a special, one-off thing.

But yeah, she might take a well deserved break after the TC tour, who knows.

There is indeed no confirmation of a return to Vegas at this point...  Although several (very) reliable sources (and i'm not talking about what's written on this board) are confirming that she will return to Las Vegas starting as early as 2010...  But then again, I don't think an official confirmation will be made until the end of this year or the start of 2009.  At least in the mean time Caesar's is telling their custormers that Céline will be back.

The second time Vegas can be even more succesfull than "A New Day" was...  It all depends how they will handle it.  If they copy the AND show than it's very likely that the new show will be a complete disaster but I don't think they will do this.  There are multiple possibilities to produce a second Vegas show which can (and will) be better than the first show.  If they co-operate with Dragone again I'm sure it will be a splendid show that will be renewing and never seen before.  If they don't  co-operate with Dragone again than there's a great chance that the show will be more "intimate"...  More a sort of accoustics show with just Céline and her voice....  A more intimate show with Céline and an orchestra is also a nice option...  You see, there are a lot of options that exist for a "possible" second show in Vegas.

And now, she won't become a second Wayne Newton...  Wayne had done more than 25.000 shows and I don't see how Céline would ever do so   And to be honest, there is a big difference between Wayne and Céline don't you think so?  They both play in other categories

I honestly think that a second Vegas show is more likely to happen than a new worldtour...  But we'll have to wait to be sure...

Well, the rumours about her getting pregnant are no rumours. She said herself for Paris Match that she already begun her treatment for IVF, to prepare her for getting pregnant right after the tour ends. If it will work this time around or not, no one can tell. As far as I know IVF doesn't really have high chances of succeeding, Celine was very lucky the first time.
I wasn't comparing her to Wayne Newton as a musical genre etc, but if she ends up playing in Vegas for some 10 years... You know what I mean?
Anyway, if she does go back to Vegas, I hope they announce it early, so I can start saving money for the openning night    (I saw the closing night of AND, it would be so cool to see the openning night of whatever new show she might be doing). But I'd still prefer her to tour. Or at least not start in Vegas until that 8 billion dolars project is finished, near Bellagio; judging by what I've seen it should be out of this world

She made it pretty clear she wants to get pregnant again, and yeah she said she's started the IVF, but she also said she didn't want to actually get pregnant until after the tour is over. She seems pretty sure she wouldn't want to work at all during a pregnancy, which I can totally understand. So I'm not expecting it to happen until at least the start of next year...hopefully it'll work out then
As for the Vegas show...if that's what she wants to do, I think it's cool. Of course she should take a break first though, and focus on family. I don't have any really specific ideas. I wouldn't even mind if she just sat on a stool and sang songs all night wearing jeans...but I don't think that's gonna happen in vegas!
