OMG A Ford Pinto! I'm happy and surprised that you actually SURVIVED having that car since it had the well known habit of EXPLODING from a rear collision!
What was really scary, but true is that FORD knew about the problem with the Pinto and after doing some calculations actually decided that it would be better to keep building the car rather than correcting the problem so they basically were putting $$$ ahead of human lives.

Ah good ole capitalistic greed at it's best ... or should I say... worst...
I also had a Ford Maverick which, IMHO, was one of the best and most dependable cars Ford ever built which is probably why they stopped making it.

Well if you're going to bring up "remember when" cars you CANNOT leave out two cars from a car company that no longer exists American Motors...the little wedge shaped Gremlin and the car that was basically a greenhouse disquised as a car called the Pacer. The Pacer had an option of a Levi Straus "blue jeans" interior!

And do you remember that before Celine and "My Heart Will Go On"
there was Maureen and "Morning After"?

Well it depends on what kind of car you have. If I fill up my car with gas it costs about thirty dollars and my car is small. I spend about $200 a month just on gas! But I will admit that even though North American gas prices are high they are still a lot less than Europe. But we wasteful Americans like to drive a lot and our mass transit system is mostly useless, especially compared to the rest of the world.
So while I drive in my car by myself drinking an overpriced "Fourbucks" coffee talking on my cell phone and reading the newspaper (I've actually seen people do this while driving) I can be satisfied that I am doing everything to minimize America's independence on foreign oil.

if you dont count the currency exchange, just based on unit to unit, our petrol costs on average RM60-RM100. it used to be WAY cheaper say 5 years ago. our government is stupid enough to sell off our best petroleum and import the low grade petroleum
