I think the most sick of all is signora Romelli who was the exclusive source of information for celine!!!!! So disappointig. Escpecially that many members here quoted his blo as reliable source. I have read his repor and it's as exclusive as last year's snow. NOT APPROVED at all by the signora.

but those rnb tracks  can be a kind of surprise and may be included on special edition of the album... because they are recorded for sure... we've got too much now about them so they cannot be not included somehow...

i hope so!!!!! she does seem to be going for the more bluesy lower stuff at the moment but from the review LV gave there is some great celine notes we all love so much. props to her though she has been singing her *** off for 5 years at Ceasers...!! i dont think she will let her fans down though, as she has said she knows that the non-french market is more about the money notes and strong ballads. but i know we all love her french AND english songs, they all ROCK! Ill be happy just to have the CD so I think Ill love all the songs for sure     xxx

that blog is not a reliable source at all. He just copy news from here, and sometimes creat a rumor himself.

Yes, it's 100% true. I know copycats will always exist but sometimes I feel sick to post some EXCLUSIVE news myself because I know he will copy them and make them as HIS EXCLUSIVE news.

then there will be at least 15 to 16 or even 17/18 songs!!!

Personally speaking, i'm not expecting "I Knew I Loved You" or "If I Can Dream" to be included on the album.  Isn't it possible to accept these songs as they were originally intended? One a tribute to a great composer and the other a once in a lifetime performance with Elvis.  You can apply the same logic to many Celine songs of the past 5 years - are you expecting all of these songs to appear on the new album? "I Have To Dream", "Let Your Heart Decide", "Dance With My Father" to name a few - I highly doubt it.

but still it is still possible that they gonna include IKILY (i know many don't want)...
for I have to dream it's like almost unreleas song... and i would love it to be include in a single or something.. but not this album though.. and for If i can dream why not?? i dont' mind at all! it would be cool too.

So this entire meeting was set up so they could decide which single they should release?  I'm so glad they changed the title and for the most part the song titles look pretty good.  How were Celine's vocals though?  Did she sound tired or was she able to hit those notes?

Thanx alot for the review. The news are great. 14 brand-new songs!! The songs seem good and 100% celinish. No IKILY, no duet with elvis, or english 'la diva'. But i was expecting something more r'n'b...

Anyway, when I read she was covering Alone, I was like YEAH, but then I think another cover?  From the review, sounds pretty faithful to the original and so I'm wondering why bother covering it if you can't make it better?  Will reserve judgement until I hear it.

I do have to say that from the review, doesn't sound anything like the earth-shattering material they were promising.  I hope this will work in terms of getting her back out there.  My fear is that the critics will rip her apart for trying too hard to make a pseudo-rock album just to be more relevant (then again, critics have always ripped her apart anyway, so who cares).  Again, have to reserve judgement until we hear but sounds like they could have past on a few songs.

In the end, I just want a coherent CD that I can listen all the way through without filler crap a la When the wrong one loves you right.  I rather have a mature album with only 12 0r even 11 good songs than rubbish in between.

For whoever asked if "A Song for You" is a cover, I really can't tell!  The Christina performance is so adorned with runs and frills that it didn't sound familiar to me while hearing it.  I do know a lady next to me was telling her husband after the long piano intro that it was boring and putting her to sleep, heh.  

I forgot to mention that as I was listening to the songs, I was thinking she sounded a bit throaty.  Just a bit.  Rene did say before they were played that they weren't necessarily the final mix, so Celine wouldn't want these songs leaked on the internet w/o being done.  I hate to alarm people but it's definitely not Falling Into You era.  I do have to say it didn't take anything away and with these kinds of songs she's singing she sings more relaxed and is less focused on perfection, which she's stated before.  I think they have more feeling and sound less mechanical.  People reacted very well to the uptempo songs though!  Seems the slower ones got a colder reception.  

I felt the overall quality was surely worlds above One Heart.  I thought the production value was so much better, and none of the songs felt rushed or cheap to me.  A couple different ones, but that doesn't mean bad.  I don't think I could compare them to anything she's done and say they're better or worse.  I think most of the songs are better than her other filler songs on previous albums though.  It felt pretty cohesive to me with the majority of them being very electric guitar filled.  

While the vocals on Alone were pretty straightforward and didn't convey much feeling or emotion, it's still great to listen to!  The arrangement is just a bit diferent, and sounds a tiny bit more "poppy" than the original.  I hate to say it but I think people will not like it because she doesn't put any feeling into it or try to make it sound any different.  It's VERY straightforward, but it's Celine singing Alone; that's it.  

I don't recall any songs on the vocal level of I Surrender, but she sings her butt off a couple times if I remember.  That's Just the Woman in Me is probably one of those songs.  She sings like she's in a bar somewhere and she's been singing for 3 hours so her voice isn't all there but it sounds intentional to me and it's the most free she's ever sung if you ask me.  It reminded me of a Janis Joplin only if she could actually sing, heh.  I got chills listening to it and even after the first couple sentences I knew it would be amazing.  

Oh yeah, they didn't announce the album title, but on the voucer they passed out, it says something like good for a copy of Celine's new cd "Taking Chances" coming on November 13th.  

And something else bothered me a bit...As Rene was making his speech he mentioned it's very important to choose our favorites honestly because only 5 or 6 songs will be chosen...I took that as they played 14 potential album songs but only 5 or 6 would make the album, but he also could have been talking singles...I asked him when he was signing my autograph if he said that all these songs were on the album and he said yes...he could have been distracted though, or he could have answered truthfully, but I had to at least put it out there.  I would be totally fine if all songs made it to the album honestly.  They're all better quality than some in her past, while a couple are a bit different is all.

i hate that she's singing less perfection. Since 2002, she's telling that she wont let her vocal cord control her way of singing but i mean, that's why almost everyone love Celine, her high notes (I surrender, Then You Look At Me, All By Myself...) and the perfection she demand in everything she does.

i think those are the final tracks... and they are going to decide the singles after that meeting in Las Vegas
