Don't talk about something you don't know.

I know that we'd love havin' Celine to perform in our country. Unfortunately, this dream won't come true... Anyway... Both of us are deeply sad. However, I know I'll have my dream come true...

CELINE, I'M SO PROUD OF LOVING YOU.

Hahahaha Might be not only her fault but it's her management fault and so on. & lack of interest on those places such as Portugal and Spain.

... I think it's more complicated... It doesn't depend on them. It does depend on the interest of those countries in sponsoring one or more concerts...

When a concert is 99% confirmed and suddenly is pushed back for "logistic reasons" it's kind of strange. Even more, when even sony does everything to convince her to come it's because there is interest. As I said... don't talk about something you don't know.

That's the list. Those are the countries. Those are the cities. The rest is 2nd class. Now, the 2nd class fans have to save money to travel to see her... because we are 2nd class fans, but we still buy the tickets to see her even if we have to pay more than 500 euros to buy a plane ticket and book an hotel.

Anyway... congrats to everyone. Hope to see some of you across europe.

That's the point when you and I disagree. It's not about having your or mine dream come true. I will see her across europe, as I said before. The point is: many spanish and portuguese fans won't have the money to travel to see her. And since she made a promise in 1999, when she cancelled her shows in our countries, we were expecting she would keep her promise. "Logistic reasons"? Not even one show in the Iberic Peninsula? That's really strange.

I agree with you and I know what I'm talkin' about. Anyway... THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT TO CONSIDER IS THAT WE'RE GONNA SEE HER IN 2.008... DO HOPE TO MEET YOU AND A PLETHORA OF HER FANS IN EUROPE...

Yes I agree with you Alê. It's like I said, it's not a moment to think about only in ourselves but also and especially on those people who won't be able to see her probably for a long time since it seems to be the last world tour.
It made me super mad and sad because I've been knowing about Sony Pt plans for months and when I saw Portugal and Spain on the list I was so happy and it's kind of compensated the fact she is not coming to my country nor around Latin American. Our fellow Portuguese and Spanish people are like our second family. It's our origins.
Anyway....

Like I said... now, we cannot complain anymore, it wont change the situation but I think it will be hard for all the fans in Portugal and in Spain to forget it.

Next time? She said reccently this would probably be her last tour. Of course the main responsible for the tour's organization it's Céline's management team. But she's not innocent in all of this... for god sake, she's not stupid. She's an intelligent woman.

BillBoard and Pollstar posted news about her tour.

Quote

Dion Plots Post-Vegas Tour Schedule
Celine Dion
November 07, 2007, 4:45 PM ET

With Celine Dion's long-term residency at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace coming to an end Dec. 15, the Canadian singer has unveiled a 45-date North American arena tour in support of her first English-language album in three years, "Taking Chances." The set is due Nov. 13 via Columbia.

The North American leg of Dion's Taking Chances World Tour is scheduled to begin Aug. 12 at Boston's TD Banknorth Garden. From there, the jaunt will visit major markets in North America before ending Jan. 30, 2009, at the BankAtlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Tickets for the AEG Live/Concerts West-produced North American leg go on sale Nov. 16. Ticket prices have not yet been released.

Prior to visiting North America, Dion is scheduled to perform in Arfica, Asia, Australia and Europe. An itinerary of international concert dates can be found on her Web site.

During her tenure at the 4,100-seat Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which started in March 2003, Dion performed more than 700 concerts. When factoring in ticket sales, sponsorship money and merchandising, the residency will have grossed more than $500 million, according to John Meglen, president/co-CEO of Concerts West, a division of AEG Live, which oversees programming at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The $95 million facility opened in 2003 with the purpose of housing Dion's show.

As Dion wraps her stint, actress/singer Bette Midler will be ushered in as the Colosseum's new resident artist. Midler's first show is Feb. 20, with an initial contract calling for 100 shows over the first two years.

Celine Dion Announces World Tour
Wednesday, Nov 7, 2007 1:34PM

In just a few weeks, the final curtain will rise and fall on Celine Dion's "A New Day" show at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
December 15th, 2007, marks the end of five consecutive years of sold-out performances, leaving the star free to prepare for a world tour.
Dion's Taking Chances World Tour launches next year and stops in Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe, before hitting the U.S. and Canada.
The North American leg of this tour commences August 12 in Boston and spans 45 arena dates. The trek will take the singer across the U.S. and her native Canada over the course of six months, culminating on January 30, 2009 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Tickets for the tour go on sale beginning November 16.
Organizers promise a "spectacular live concert event where Celine will perform her biggest hits, along with songs from her new English album Taking Chances, which will be released on November 13."
The show, is being directed by Jamie King (Madonna's Confessions World Tour, Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics World Tour, Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca World Tour) and "will accompany Dion's performances with a visual feast of color, fashion, dance and surprise!"
"These past five years of performing at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas have been an incredibly rewarding experience for myself and my family, but I'm ready to hit the road again, with my husband and son by my side", Dion said.
"It's going to be so exciting to tour the U.S. and Canada again, and perform everything with a brand new show. I just can't wait!"

Wait 'second class fans'? I mean what if she just doesn't feel like there's a big enough market for her music there? Like I'd love to see her in my hometown but I'm pretty darn sure I'm one of five fans my home country has. buuuuut anyway. i really hope you guys can make it out to a nearby concert. the point was to say, don't call yourself a second class fan?? eh wver.

I think that's pretty weird to only have 2 dates in Montreal... Maybe she'll had more if they sell fast

It,s clear that they are going to add more shows later for MOntreal.  There is not many shows planned for August... so it's very possible...

why dont you help us by creating here an official poll???
TO ALL LATIN AMERICAN FANS....?

we need a date on this tour
could be the last time in years ...
that interview said she would rest for a long time...after the tour...

please moderators and admins
create a poll to latin america...
Honey.... this will not bring Celine to Latin America! heh It's showbusiness, honey.

i know more about showbusiness than you ok?
im studying this for 2 years now...
i love berklee press books...music business/ entertainment business

haha

demand
cash
logistic

all things included....
when i say things...
i know what im saying....
i work with a band here...

so when i ask for a poll
i think we still have a chance...

the forum could have a world map ...
with a point on visitors...
it would be cool to see the regions of the world with the points...

let me see the latin america presence here
calm down..you can't do anything ...now even with a poll..the dates are there, the list is there is confirmed now...so just accept it...we won't see her....

ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT ISN'T CELINE'S FAULT... :nono:

Now, the 2nd class fans have to save money to travel to see her... because we are 2nd class fans, but we still buy the tickets to see her even if we have to pay more than 500 euros to buy a plane ticket and book an hotel.

that's what i'm gonna try to do...but i'm not sure i can do it...is going to be very expensive even that i live near the US..but still i can't afford a trip like that.... and my mom well she won't let me  :( and the US ticket are there and i still don't know what can i do

so no mexico, no brazil, no spain, no portugal...well there is goes to every latin fan....i thought mexica had a chance...but now i see that it wasn't possible...i'm happy for all the fans will get to see her...i'm really happy..but well this is very sad...this was our last chance....
i have to make everything possible to go to the US or....    i don't know what could i do

Celine Dion To Perform
KOTV - 11/7/2007 2:13 PM - Updated 11/7/2007 4:49 PM
An international recording star will play at the BOK Arena. News On 6 anchor Omar Villafranca reports the arena isn’t even finished yet, but we finally know of at least one major act playing at the BOK center. Celine Dion's "Taking Chances World Tour" will play at the BOK center November 13, 2008. Tulsa is one of 45 cities on the tour, and the only city in Oklahoma where she'll perform.

Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor says she's excited about the revenue the concert will bring the city. The BOK center's GM says Wednesday’s announcement puts Tulsa on the tour map.

"Other people that are routing other tours and major artists look and say, where did they route? What were the 45 dates that they picked? To be on that list I think is very, very helpful for me in trying to attract other events," said John Bolton, General Manager of the BOK Center.

BOK Center officials hope to sell more than 18,000 tickets to the Celine Dion concert, but information on ticket prices won't be available until next week.

This isn't the first show that will open the BOK Center. That concert has not been announced yet.

Congrats man! Its really cool to actually know she's coming to your home state. She will be in North Carolina for the first time since Sept. 1998. By the time Jan.2009 rolls around for the concert, thats over 10 years!

All of the promises broken..
And all of the songs left unsung...
Seem so far away as I make my way back to you.
You gave me faith and you gave me a world to believe in

OMG, OH NOES, LIKE CELINE IS NOT COMING TO PORTUGAL, LIKE OMG I HATE HER, I'M GONNA BURN MY WHOLE COLLECTION AND STEAL HER HUSBAND!!!1!111!1!!!!1!!!!!11111!

LOL, just joking, off course.

Well, this stuff happens and that's it. It's a shame but this is business. I evaluated my options and I'm not trying any other country, I just have other priorities at the moment. If I hadn't been twice to her concerts before I bet I would feel diferentely and I would have done absolutely insane things to save money. But now it's just that I have more responsabilities and other priorities and it's just way too much for me to handle.
I feel really bad for those who never had the chance. Just don't give up yet. You never ever know. The world will not come to an end after this tour is over and there might be another chance. We gotta keep on believing it. I did it once and it worked for me!
Can't wait for the tour though, it's gonna be great with news and pics and videos and the reviews.

Ummm....I'm a little disappointed in these dates! She hasn't toured in 10 years and she's only doing 45 North American dates?

Tim McGraw & Faith Hill did 3 dates in Los Angeles and Celine is just scheduled for ONE?!?!?!!?!

does anyone know how many North American dates she did for LTAL?

Just a little side note: please, don't tell people that a rumour is confirmed before it is really confirmed. When people have a little hope they just hold on to everything they can. When someone we can trust tells them the thing it's true... of course they will believe. And this can lead to major disappointments. I think this is where this board failed while dealing the early unconfirmed lists.
