An excellent album like FIY or ANDHC needs time. So, I could wait until 2008. But I think, she should record one or two techno-trance songs. It would listen so intense and dramatic. Twould be a good mix:

 

5 Ballads

3 Up-Tempo Songs (Pop-Rock Style)

2 Techno-Trance Songs

2 R'nB Numbers (like FORGET ME NOT and LOVE IS ALL WE NEED)

Well, it's like a slap on my face then. Not that she doesn't like someone but that she said about it openly. Oh though I can't say that it's her exact words in this book. It's just describing the situation from the aside looker - Germen's point of view.

 

IF I ever hear those stright words in interview from Celine (that she can't stand anyone) - that would be real shock.

 

I bet she used to use to show it somehow else. Just like the way she did on The View show - with those "britney" moves. She said everything and nothing

I'm not against Diane songs if they only would be not so cheesy. She writes beautyful melodies which I really prefer. But the words. Lately. No. I want something deeper meaning on the new album. If the plan exists ever

Lets face reality. Celine has not been in the pop charts for sometime. That is exactly where she needs to be. David Foster is the one to do it like it or not. Jazz album would be great. but I don't see it happening yet. Playing it safe seems to be the rule. When you have a winning formula, you don't screw it up. IE Coke comes to mind.

 

Being in Vegas for her show is a little like "outta sight, outta mind for the JQ public. You really don't hear a lot of Celine's songs played these days unless it's an oldies or romantic station. XM radio keeps her going fairly well on "the heart" CH23. I think they need to get her back out and on the charts. There are a lot of people out there that are coming of age and really have never heard of Celine. This is her chance again.

That's right. Céline definitly needs some popular songs fitting into the charts of today. So not only Ballads (although I really would look forward to another great duet, where are the times when she sang with Barbra Steisand and other great singers?...) are neccesary but also somthing in techno / trance style or a bit of rock (she has proven she can do that really good). I love her ballads but it's a bit too much of lullabys, so up-tempo songs is what she really needs to return to the charts.

You know I can't help but think that some Céline's fans would love Céline to be like MAriah in certain aspects. They always complain about Céline giving all the same answers in the interviews, not talking about her music enough etc. While MAriah, her biggest rival, talks about almost NOTHING but her music, her collaborations, her early studio recordings, she can tell you everything about every single song she has recorded for her last silicon record, just about, she has way much more input into her albums and into the current music buisness.

Which then brings me to the point mentioned here in the thread abpout current success being able only when Céline updates her sound. Yet some of you seem to forget that Céline ain't some super producer-songwriter-singer-actress-waitress-hairdresser in one - she merely can rely on ideas of her team and René who then again listens to Sony carefully cuzz they have a contract. That is a vicious curcle of some kind and she won't have hit IF she will continue to listen to what Sony says. What one would need to succeed today is some inventive thinking and singing, not sticking to known frames.

Mariah Carey's one--(I don't like this one)

Britney Spears' one

Shania Twain's one

t.a.t.u's one

KellyClarkson's one--(the most similar one to Celine, I think)
