New English Album?

I've been thinking about this for a while. But wouldn't it be great if Sony was to release a box set of ALL of Celine's music videos so far? That really would be such a treat! Of course, it'd be multiple disc... but why does that sound impossible to Sony?

Anyway, I'm sure we'll get a new (English) album this year, whether a studio album or a GH album (Anthology).. together with the AND DVD & "Enchanting".. Just in time for X-mas..

It's not 'sudden', it's the same thing all over again (we had this too last year)..

Like the others said, Céline has recorded a couple of X-Mas tracks with David Foster last year, so it's a certainty a new X-Mas album will be released in the future..

No, she didn't record them yet. A friend of mine from davidfoster.com said she didn't. There were plans last year to record 5 Xmas songs produced by David Foster for a FULL Xmas album by Céline. But it didn't happen.

Not at all, monsieur René. I just watched Je Dance In My Tete video and thought it was amazing. Why do we have to want another low-quality album of hers? All sings show that she ain't gonna record something good anytime soon. With videos like PQTME, LAEE or JDDT she had actually something to say... there is so much to interpret, so much to enjoy. And what would you want now? Songs written by Max Martin, recorded in 15 minutes sessions a day and put out in another glamorous CBS special presented by Ciara? No, thanks. She has to stop, she has to think. One has to give her time or else she will go crazy like she did with almost every English CD of hers. Céline Dion is far too big talent to be wasted on such worthless piece of Britney. Monsieur René, regarde encore une fois le clip de Danse Dans My Tete....

This period of time is similar to these "empty" years 2000 and 2001. And they were only seemingly empty... we got The Collector's Series and 2 new songs. Plus 2 TV appearances. Now she's in Vegas, we have 2006, we got another compilation of her French hits with new songs on it and during her various TV interviews she has not mentioned a new album, French nor English, in the slightest respect.

Maybe you're right and I know you're wiser than I am, but what do you want me to say ! I just want to have more Celine Dion, more songs, more pictures, more albums ... because I love her and because I've seen so many times all her tv apparences, so many times her videoclips, so many times heard her songs... Also for ONCP, she never said she would duet with Il Divo; we discovered it when celinedion.com published the tracklisting. The same for the Asterix soundtrack. And we knew about JNVOP only when it appeared on TC last July.

Mais mon cher monsieur René... I completely understand what you want to say but let me say it's a little out of place to say that you want more and more albums - of course on the one hand I fully understand that as I know that you love her but on the other hand just think that she has recorded more than 30 albums and it's a little arrogant to wish she'd recorde more! LOL!

 

It's not like Céline is like Damien Rice who till now recorded only one single album and his fans desperately await the follow-up CD. I'm actually quite astonished that many of you here (not only you, mon monsieiur René ) are not happy she is actually taking her time to record a CD. For the first time since 5 years!

 

I would recommend to put in "Dion Chante Plamondon", "En Concert", "Live A Paris", "Celine Dion", even "1 Fille & 4 Types" - I always say Céline's fans do appreciate her talent but they somewhat fail to appreciate her work, songs, intepretations as a singer. And on top of that they're actually not the ones to blame! It's Céline herself actually who has been recording/releasing albums like crazy ever since 1981! So my advice is, stop, think, relax and listen. Céline Dion has much to offer.

I just hope with her next English album, she goes back to being an amazing interpreter. She used to have so much emotion in her voice, but if you listen to Miracle, or the new songs from On Ne Change Pas and how she sang them, it puts you to sleep, it's really boring. Sometimes for example if you listen to "In Some Small Way" or "I Believe In You" it sounds as if she tried to put in some emotion and power as well, but finally didn't do it. I hope she'll let the notes come out with the same easiness as she used to do. I don't know if you have noticed but recently most of the times she sounds better live than on her albums, and normally with all the studio technique it should be the other way round or at least equal.

 

I also think they've missed the chance to release something new for her 25th aniversary. I dont know why they didn't do it, instead they are repeating old shows on Quebec TV. In 1991 for her 10th anniversary she even did a new show "10 ans déjà" which was excellent, especially the part with the symphonic orchestra, and it was broadcast on TV.
