"Annie Horth, her head of wardrobe and creative adviser, promises something “grandiose,” a show that will use broad architectural strokes to reveal the diva’s many dimensions. « She goes from intimate and romantic to a vocal powerhouse, so we are creating something where she navigates that,» Horth says."

What do you think?

Sounds exciting, but I’m not sure what that means… sounds like they are creating a universe around Céline that changes drastically based on the song?

The Plenitude Arena is just too big. I like the idea of Céline going with the largest indoor arena in Europe, but the fact that the Courage World Tour was supposed to make a stop there with probably the same production as the usual arenas makes me think the stage would have looked ridiculous in such a huge venue. So I’m really hoping the production will be something BIG. I don’t want to see a stage the size of, for example, the TCWT center stage in Amsterdam. It looked ridiculous.

Yeah the TCWT set up in Amsterdam and Tokyo was ridiculous- i get it would make the choreo and Celines workload a lot harder for it to have been scaled up, but it did look really silly having this minuscule stage in the centre of a gigantic stadium.

Seems in line with a lot of Willo Perrons previous work for stage design- heavily interactive lighting and screen design with very avant garde and flashy architecture.

Some examples here for those who are curious: IMG_2835.jpeg.47c65e1e36b9f8c29cbfedb864106567.jpegIMG_2836.jpeg.45b9eb26bf7257d394b0966a52c2cac2.jpegIMG_2838.jpeg.f96729c5192fa2e0a0fe5981c1ea5b83.jpegIMG_2834.thumb.jpeg.bcfe8dfbd85eced7ebacd4c0879980c9.jpeg

I like 👀

I saw the CWT and was left disappointed but the lack of artistry for the stage and lighting on that tour. Left me very underwhelmed, luckily the voice is the reason I went lol.

I can’t help but wonder how they gave possibly rehearsed with the lighting etc to see how Celine’s SPS can handle those triggers… it’s not basic lighting looks like Celine stepped it up in that area.

The elephant in the room is WHAT changed in her condition, how are they controlling it enough to be able to commit to 26- very demanding shows. We need another documentary.

Yeah and it's not that the new interview is giving a lot of new details.

"Dion has the personality of a Muppet, never leaving much time between cracking a joke or Tetris-ing her body into another position. (Because SPS can freeze her muscles into place, she likes to keep moving.)"

This make it sound like she still has to deal with it on a frequent basis.

"After her diagnosis, Dion committed to intense rehabilitation: new meds, physical therapy, vocal therapy, immunotherapy. There are no FDA-approved treatments for the condition, so in 2024 her foundation donated $2 million for research into autoimmune neurological disorders. In preparation for the Paris shows, Dion is doing 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week; on two other days, she takes ballet classes with a local company. She describes this period as falling and getting back up repeatedly."

It would take away so much doubt if she just told us how she really is doing. Something along the lines of, I've had my treatments, occasionally I get an episode, but less intense, frequent whatever.

I still think that one day we get some videos while she is onstage getting an episode.

I don’t think so… I think if I had to guess (because I am, 😂)

I think Celine was part of the CAR-T experimental therapy that is growing optimistic on becoming a possible cure… they can’t call it a cure yet because of the time of the study but 2 years in and people have basically all doing great. I think she had something like this done and they aren’t telling us…. I still refuse to believe she would return to the stage at this frequency if there wasn’t a near 0% chance that she doesn’t have a stage episode… ofc that could never be 0% unfortunately.

Not my favorite in Paris.  Bercy all the way - but $$$$.

Cos Bercy feels more intimate I guess?

But this place looks like a fxxking stadium...

It's perfect for an in-the-round stage,

with the right stage design and lighting,

it will be visually stunning!

But the stage won’t be in the round… it’ll be a end stage already confirmed… we just don’t know how big it’ll be yet.

I don't know why she doesn't do in-the-round stage anymore...

She worked that kind of stage so well...and we can see all angles of her...

Too demanding for the age maybe?

I loved the in the round, your probably right that it’s just too demanding. We are kidding ourselves If we think that she could do now, what she did in her late 30s/early 40s SPS aside. She was basically walking on treadmills up inclines, walking on all of the catwalks etc. I watch the vids from that tour and I’m amazed how she could do all Of that then and sing. No way she could do that now. I do wish they could do an in the round set up and just have her walk around it but I wonder if even that would be too much

My guess is the aren’t just opting away from the in the round stage for the high stamina but also …. She’s more vulnerable in the middle of the floor and would need to be carted in and out of the stage… it’s much harder for quick changes and a lot of climbing up and down the stage…. Also god forbid any emergency its much more safe to have a proper backstage area that she could be taken to rather than being vulnerable in the middle of a huge arena floor.

I don't think insurance would underwrite this without extensive medical documentation.

On the CAR-T thing, it would be one thing for them to not reveal this and another for them to lie. I can't recall where I saw it, but didn't Dr Piquet specifically say Celine did not have this treatment?

Surely they’ll have to start putting the stage and everything together soon in the arena? I was looking through Willo Perron’s previous productions and this has the potential to be epic

So good chance Celine will arrive next weekend, maybe the 29th. They’d need to be working on the stage / setup next week to allow everyone in for proper rehearsals week starting 31st Aug

Twice…

1. first show in Vegas after Rene’s death

2. First Paris show after his death.

both times Aldo was her manager and her social presence was better, that’s also in the time frame we got “winter song” from the studio and “My Love” cover of Sia on the anniversary of Rene’s death.

So the guy on TikTok who was in the arena was right: they’ve been moving things around and tidying up in preparation for Céline Dion’s arrival. So I think the setup won’t be long now.

CTV Montreal also aired the first 2 songs when she came back to Montreal in 2016 and I remember Jean-Philippe Dion had done a Facebook live of her going on stage and her singing 3h20.

No, that was the last Paris 2016 show that was broadcasted live on her Facebook page -well, the first 25 minutes actually.

But this channel isn't official. I remember watchnig live streams on YouTube for the first concerts of 2016, 2017 & 2018 summer tours and for Courage Tour as well. I'm sure there will bo lots of them for the next shows !
